    Absolutely the most helpful video with what we real people need to know about this hitch and setup in 10 quick minutes. THANK YOU! Love that you addressed the question about bed length and slide requirement. Saved me $500 and probably another half hour of assembly time. :)

    Have you put a padlock on it where you attach to bed instead of a pin . I was wondering about theft leaving it like that

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I have not, that is a really good idea. It does stay under a fairly secure tonneau cover. And the hitch is pretty damn heavy! If Somebody wants to take it they better have a real good chiropractor!🤣

    Thanks for the video! How does it pull with the Silverado? We are purchasing the exact same 5th wheel and have a 2022 GMC Sierra Denali 2500HD Duramax. Have the same hitch. Curious how close you are on payload to maxing out GVWR for the truck. Pin weight is 2461and with passengers, hitch weight, and curb weight, I'm about 100 lbs under my GVWR

      Adding airbags to the rear will help tremendously! I'm using the Firestone 5000 lb airbag! Thank you Kevin!

    How do you know how high to set the hitch to ensure bed rail clearance? Thanks for the helpful video.

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would start at its highest setting at 17 inches!

    Fifth wheel nose cones are so rounded now, you don't need a slider hitch. Back in the day fifth wheels were more square up front. I just stumbled across your vids, so I'm not too familiar.
    I worry about the leveling kits. You can make it ride nice with upper control arms. The big issue for me is the pitman arm and the idler arm. Those needed to be replaced multiple times on my "05.
    I didn't do it again on my '15, and I won't do it on my 2020.

      You're absolutely right! Cognito figured out a fix for the GM idler arm and pitman arm. It's Simple bracket I which GM had thought of it! Here is a link to cognito!

    How is the short bed working when trying to make a 90 degree turn? Dealer told me I’d need a slide hitch of I buy a short bed and now I’m thinking I need a king bed truck.

    Hi - I have a 2021 2500HD shortbed as well and just bought a 41" Dutchmen Astoria 5th wheel.. would you recommend a slider system?

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's better to have the slider system. I can pull a full 90° on flat ground, although on some inclines and declines at certain campsites it is possible for me to make contact with the top of the cab.
      I just know from experience when I did have the slider system I never used it! Also very important, if you do use the slider hitch you need to make sure that your PIN box doesn't make contact with the tailgate of your truck. I'm most positive on my truck if I used a slider my pin box would make contact with the tailgate. I know it's confusing there are so many variables.

    Thank you for posting, very good video. I bought the same A20 hitch (OEM puck setup) for a fifth wheel that we are purchasing. Does the king pin extend past the front of the RV cap? stressing a little over the clearance to the cab (Open Range, rounded cap), we are picking up our new fifth wheel in another state, and the majority of people online are saying that i should get a slider hitch. (2022 Denali HD, standard 6'10" bed) Thanks!

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Kingpin extends 1ft shy from the tip of the front cap on the Reflection. Not sure about the Open Range 5th wheel. Although I do know there very nice! Congrats!!! It seems as though the New 5th wheels are getting better about front cap placement to improve turning radius. I'm not sure that you will need a slider hitch, Please let me know how everything worked out? Thank you for watching my video Michael!

      I know I am 2 years late to the party but….. the short answer is no. No one at a dealer can figure out the part. There is one more but. I live in a part of the country where a lot of people take the beds off and put on flat beds. The accessory guy I use had one off a 22 sitting in his shop and installed it on my 2024 GMC 3500 yesterday.

    Are you running the short or long bed?

  • @tyflesh
    @tyflesh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Make sure you put some grease on that 5th wheel before you move it.. I'm still trying to decide if I want gasser or diesel, diesels add a lot of weight to the payload of the truck... Gas you can have more trailer thanks for the video also had a friend tell me always go 8ft bed, short bed you need a sliding 5th wheel because of a short box for tight backing the nose of the rv can hit the cab, have you run into this? I been pulling tow behinds not 5th wheels

    I have a 2020 2500HD GMC Denali 6'10" bed about to upgrade to Reflection 5th wheel will i need a slider hitch little concern about clearance or making 90 degree turn?

    • @DURTYMAXLML
      @DURTYMAXLML  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're better off spending the extra money and getting the slider hitch! It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it! Thank you!
