Good old ding dong, nice driving . Always thought of it as high speed dodgems Loved every minute of it. ex sidecar racer, my last race on the island was on that circuit. Wish i was still racing

Not been to any road racing since 1971 the tt and race of the year Mallory park. Back then oulton park brands etc frightening speeds now to me 60s was best but others might disagree. Depending on your age. ? And likes .
You’d probably have a death wish to ride the sidecar. Do they have any ‘rail’ to hold on to? I’ve also seen bikes/sidecars racing at Nurburgring back in 1953. Awesome, & scary too. I have photos of the riders stretched out parallel with the ground on right-hand corners. Definitely NOT for me or the faint of heart.
Yea! I guess they must choose not to rev the engine to assist the changing down process to slow the outfit but man that's just cruel or have I/we got it wrong, is there anyone out there who can explain the benefits of changing down so brutally. cheers.
My dear old dad as a young lad used to work for Zenith motorcycles in East Molesey...part of his duties was to tune bike engines for the works team racing at Brooklands...one day the regular side car passenger went sick and he had to take his place during testing...he says he's never been so frightened in his life...he was also a Territorial and was mobilised shortly after and sent out as Part of the BEF but that's another story...
