  • The method of drug discovery based on drug-drug similarity has two principal limitations: (1) one needs to have at least one known drug or compound to query the database and (2) the discovered new compounds may mostly belong to the same class as the queried drug or compound. Therefore, in order to find potential therapeutics for disease that has no known therapeutic, one has to explore the “connectivity” between the queried disease and all known or investigational drugs. In the following example, using psoriasis, an immune-mediated, inflammatory, and hyperproliferative disease of the skin and joints, we will present a step-by-step approach to find novel candidate therapeutics for psoriasis.

Hi, Thanks for the detailed tutorial. I tried running my query in the "CLUE QUERY" tool, it went well. However, when I tried generating the heatmap by selecting my query result, it is taking me to Morpheus rather than ICV as you have shown. In morpheus, I am seeing only one column "id norm_cs" but not others. Where did I go wrong? Could you please help me out with this issue? Thank you.

That is because you are using the latest beta version. The is a drop down menu when you key in your up and down regulated gene list. If you select ver 1.0, you will get the heatmap as shown in the video. Hope this help.
