This is the second Florence song this year and I’m all for it, they have amazing music. You’ve definitely picked up on a signature move of hers that I would have never noticed. The ‘H’ before the high note, you’ve mentioned it a few times in your other reactions. Love all the insight you give.

It still blows my mind she’s covered this song multiple times. It’s such an odd choice since it’s not even one of F+tM’s big songs. It’s always been one of my favorite songs so it’s just funny to me that she’s covered a relatively unknown song lol

@@HegeOfficial If you haven't seen the Piece By Piece Idol final season performance yet you should watch as soon as possible. It is one of the most emotional performances ever. The song jumped to #1 on iTunes within hours and stayed there for a week. She completely eclipsed all of the Grammy performance boosts from the previous night. Kelly was 8 months into a bad pregnancy and her doctor told her that she couldn't perform at both The Grammys and American idol so she chose to perform on Idol and many people thought she was crazy for passing on the Grammys and the possible sales boost, but she once again proved them wrong by turning the mid-tempo album version into a piano ballad and the world cried with her as she desperately tried to hold it together singing about her then husband restoring her faith in fathers and that she would be there for her kids, unlike her dad, who abandoned her when she was six years old. The reaction was so strong that Kelly rushed into the studio and recorded the Idol version and the song hit #8 on the Hot 100.
Forgot to mention how much I love your reaction videos! The more insight and knowledge that you add the better. Why else would one watch a reaction video?

@@HegeOfficial yes ma'am they are all Kellyokes, but I've been a Kelly fan for 20 years so if you'd like me to recommend any longer performances shes done I can give you plenty of those as well! She started Kellyoke a long time ago on tour they just called it fan request back then haha! The song I wanted to have you do was "Dream On" haha and then I realized you had already done it hehe!
I love your explanations on these different things Kelly is capable if doing with her voice. You give words to all the little details and I love it. I Have a question though, do you think she is making conscious choices or how much do you think it's innate ability to just feel her way through the song? 💪🏼
I’m so happy you liked it! 🥰 Thank you so much for watching. And I’d say generally it’s a good mix and not easy to distinguish. It depends on the preparation of the song too and if she knows a song by heart or not, as well as whether there’s a strict vocal arrangement to follow or if she’s free to play around. But with years of training it’s all there - all her skills - ready for her to choose from (consciously or not) in the moment.

You should compare this to her 2011-2012 cover if this on her Stronger Tour. She is younger and there is a difference but in a lot of ways its the same!
