      Fair enough. Is a specifically a Queensland made beer, hence why they bring it up in the Gold Coast verse. I guess they thought GC was funnier than Brisbane.

      @@SCA713 And we Australians know more of American politics and geography than our own.
      Ahh....
      Anyway, the Australian stereotypes are very much stereotypes, and definitely most Australians don't believe them.
      The one that gets played most is the Melbourne-Sydney rivalry, Melbourne thinking it's cultured and Sydney being pretentious.
      Tasmania people used to used in a real derogatory sense, but they've been got over over the past 3 decades or so.

      @greatsageclok-roo9013 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Allow me... within my understanding of our country's stereotypes for the time.
      *Melbourne:* Tram central city, and also considered the 'hipster' capital of Australia... I assume the emo gag was what it was before that.
      *Adelaide:* I don't get the first joke, but the second gag about the water refers to how the water mains in the city keep on bursting (they're that fucking old!) and the water tastes like shit anyway. Crows references the local Aussie Rules football team - the Adelaide Crows - with the last one joking about the at-the-time serial-killer/murderer reputation the city had.
      *Gold Coast:* Don't get any of these. But the general reference to how hot it is is pretty accurate.
      *Sydney:* Where the Mardi-Gras parade is held, hence that reference. The second bit I don't understand, but the last jab about 'being better than everyone' is pretty damn accurate.
      *Canberra:* Long of the short - Canberra is known as the city of roundabouts... lots and lots of roundabouts.
      *Tasmania:* Tassie is a pretty decent horticultural state, so the first joke... but because it is not a part of the mainland, us 'mainlanders' like to make jokes about them being "mutants" if that makes sense. The two-heads one being a popular one.

      @@greatsageclok-roo9013 The two heads joke is based on how a long time ago, Tasmanian soil was lacking in iodine. Regarding the Gold Coast, XXXX is a popular beer in Queensland (also home to crumbed steak and the place where gyros are called kebabs) and the state is known for its bogans (Aussie slang for rednecks, etc).
