    Thanks for the great tips! We used to use Audacity but now use GarageBand. What we really meant to say is that after you upload a video there's really not much choice in how you can adjust the audio in the manner you were requesting (that we know of.) Of course, if it were as simple as swapping out the audio file then we'd gladly do it :)
    Thanks for taking the time to try to help us :D

    That's a great suggestion! That would totally work. The only downside I see is that we like to keep the cream cheese chilled and I'm not sure if the bag would be strong enough for us to squeeze firm cream cheese through. When we eat it having the chilled cream cheese and cucumber with the salmon helps add to the experience and feel of this roll. But if you don't mind the warmer cream cheese I think this is an excellent idea :D

    This is a great roll - it's actually the one that sold me on cream cheese in sushi rolls! In Japan cream cheese is only in desserts so when Hubby ordered these I thought he was crazy and didn't want to try them. Hubby pushed , I caved, and like our relationship I fell head over heels for them and him :) Glad to hear you like them too :D

    Great question! So, it does come pre-cut and you can find it in some American grocery stores and almost any Asian store. To get an idea what it looks like search for "pickled ginger" on Amazon and the major brands pop right up. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask, but did this help?

    Go for it! We both worked in some Japanese restaurants and it's a great way to learn about both the food and the culture. We'll warn you though, it's hard work! Generally they are meticulous about the details and customer service. That's what makes it great to go to those places but can be challenging working there :)

  • @Conditioner47

    Great technique. Took me 3x but noe they are looking like in the restaurant. Thumbs up and subscribed

  • @TheJapanfoodchannel

    100% agreed! We kept it more 'traditional' for the namesake but Hubby sneaks avocado in there all the time when we make it at home :D

  • @TheJapanfoodchannel
    @TheJapanfoodchannel  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is a great point!
    We like the way it looks on the outside and think it adds that extra little touch (granted, it is mostly visual) to our sushi. If anyone at home doesn't think the mess that comes along with that is worth it for that extra touch they could always follow your advice and do it that way :)
    Sushi really doesn't have too many hard and fast rules, and it's always neat to see what ideas others have and watch it evolve. Thanks for the great tip~!

    Friday's a big night for them! Many Japanese people only get Sundays off so there are lines outside all the sushi places near our house before 11am of people waiting to get in xD That's why we like to make it at home or get take out during the week :D

    Thank you very much for the response! If I may ask, how do you record your audio? I recommend using Audacity for things like this, if the music audio and your voice audio are two separate files! If they're the same, then I don't think you CAN fix it! But again, thank you so much! Oh, and Audacity is free!

  • @TheJapanfoodchannel
    @TheJapanfoodchannel  12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thank you~! This sushi is sooooo good :) Let us know when you try it at home :D

  • @TheJapanfoodchannel
    @TheJapanfoodchannel  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great question!
    To fix that you need to line up the filling of your roll so it sticks out from both sides by ~1 inch. After you get the hang of it a little bit more you'll just know how far out you need to go. Try that next time and you'll have end pieces that look really neat on the plate next to your 'normally' filled roles.
    Thanks for the comment :D

  • @TheJapanfoodchannel
    @TheJapanfoodchannel  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Agreed! These ingredients have a lot of rich flavor (except for the cucumber) so it takes only a little bit to get the flavor you want, and only a little bit more to get too much of it :)
    Thanks for visiting and commenting :D

    can you add avocado? I'm kind of a newbie and I just fell in love with asian culture and ur channel it's just perfect. AWESOME VIDEO! XD

  • @gecn99
    @gecn99 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    i suppose your right, but one other thing you could do is that when youve spread the rice out on the nori you put the sesame seeds on the rice so when you roll it its on the outside anyway and it looks nice. :)

    You know, that's a really good question! For me growing up I always saw unagi sauce kind of like how Americans see ketchup. It tastes good, I like it, but even though I make almost everything by hand it's one sauce the I just never felt like I had to make at home because it was always everywhere I went. I did make it with my mom a couple of times but that was years ago! Sorry I can't be more helpful :(

    I really like Philly rolls with eel sauce. But haven't found a good recipe for the sauce. Most say using equal parts soy sauce, white sugar, and mirin, but it always turns out more watery (even after cooling) than what they serve at restaurants. I haven't tried it, but I'm thinking maybe dark brown sugar for a thicker sauce (due to the molasses content). What do you think?

    That knife technique is garbage. 1.) TUCK YOUR FINGER TIPS IN!!! Not doing so could result in not only cutting yourself but ruining completely good ingredients. 2.) knives are meant for slicing, you were using it like a hack-saw. Move the knife in a forward and down motion along the length of the blade, if what you’re trying to slice isn’t done THEN move it back, if the knife is sharpened like it’s supposed to be, this should result in a quicker and cleaner cut.
