I started taking multis when I started weight lifting regularly. I also take extra vitamin D on it's own, and I think Vitamin D has been a huge benefit in terms of healing along with sickness prevention.

As a person who eats plenty and still underweight from his childhood to teenage years, the moment I consumed multivitamins it made me gain some weight from 49kg underweight to 64kg balanced (I'm 5'4 short male)it helped me have energy everyday too. I can say that multivitamins works.
holy shit i am that exact height and weight right now, 49 kg. I just started Multivitamins and Ive always eaten enough. Just never put weight on. Good to hear.
@@nayanamurthy1739 Hmm sorry I don't know, I'm not a nutritionist expert, but if you think multivitamins would help you get the minerals you need I think you should too plus it helps your immune system.
I work 12 hour shifts and the quality of my diet has declined and I mainly rely on caffeine to get me by. I’m most definitely deficient in vitamins/nutrients
I don’t work 12 hours Rather 8 and have a lot of free time But my diet like you has declined mostly to caffeine just bcz. So in a way I kinda relate or maybe not. But have you gone through any improvements regarding the nutrients and vitamin intake?
I take the following AM - 1 Omega 3, 1 magnesium citrate, 1 vitamin B12, 1 vitamin D3, PM - 1 magnesium Glycinate, I take these at the minimum level just to top up what I need, I use to get really sore muscle pain and weakness feeling in my legs until I started taking magnesium, then I researched the others to help me for my other individual needs, I have felt better since starting these and have noticed the differences in myself when I stopped taking after a long period of time so I started taking again, I am not saying I need them all the time but they definitely help
So if someone having well balanced diet actually don't need but if you're bodybuilder, vegan and if you believe you are lacking of specific vitamin then go for it. Thanks for sharing

Beer and multivitamins. Since I was 4 years old... Made me the strong, emotional, bear fighting, tree hugging, ground stomping, basket weaver I am today. No regrets.
I just started taking a multivitamin because, recently, I've been so busy with work and full-time university classes that I haven't had the time to prepare healthy and balanced meals. I feel like a multivitamin can at least help me get whatever I might be missing during this temporary crunch time. 2 month update: So, I've been taking them on an off (I'm really bad about remembering to take meds all the time), but when I'm really good about it, I do actually notice a little difference. My nails break a lot less! I think it's helping. But I'm going to go to my doctor when I get a chance to see what I should be doing long-term.
I appreciate the concise and information dense execution of this video. I feel fine and healthy but worry sometimes about not getting nutrients that I need. Multivitamins are tempting, but I should probably focus on maintaining a well rounded diet. 🤔
I feel tired and week. I have a muscle weakness. Do you think I have lack of nutrients? What your recommend me doing and my left side bones joints pain. I even have some times headaches.
I believe the reason for the names “micro” and “macro”- nutrients is actually because of the size of the molecule. Micronutrients are usually small molecules, like elements such as Ca, Mg, Fe, but protein, fats, and carbs are all long carbon chain macromolecules.
I've read this and actually the most effective vitamins are single vitamins, which are purer and of course more expensive. it would be nice if the vitamins you take are liposomal, and yep this also becomes more expensive, because actually combined vitamins are only slightly absorbed into the body, single vitamins are the same but the amount absorbed is more because there is no mixture of other vitamins, therefore if you want to maximize the absorption of vitamins you should buy liposomal. liposomal is always a single vitamin not a mixture.

Really interesting video, just paid quite a lot of money to see a Nutritionist and echo's a lot of what you said, one thing she did say I don't think you covered was about how different vitamins are absorbed in the body differently and to avoid certain ones which are wasted, she suggested brand multi-vitamins and a separate Magnesium supplement which I've just started taking today so no idea if they'll be any good or not. She did however recommend I start protein shakes, MyProtein was actually one of the brands but I've always found they taste bad but might give them a try again in the future.
Nice video. The question I have in my mind is for how many days max should one have a daily multivitamin tablet before giving this routine a break to avoid chance of any possible overdose.
I doubt you'd overdose taking the 1-a-day type tablets. Look at broccoli for example - a 300g serving has 378 micrograms of vitamin K but you only need about 75 micrograms per day. Eating 300g broccoli you're "overdosing" on vitamin K at 5 times the recommended daily amount. Are you actually overdosing on the vitamin? No. Your body simply won't use any more than it needs. I don't know if this applies to all 13 vitamins but it's certainly true of vitamin K.
im doing OMAD & sometimes 2MAD & i believed im lacking with some of nutrients by doing that. so, i decided to take a Multivitamins + an extra Magnesium, Vit D3+K2 MK7 & Boron. i took all supplements, 4 x a weeks only & not daily as some others because i think its safe for me by doing that, besides, not dependable to the OTC supplements much..

So, I have narcolepsy, which means I have a really slow metabolism. I don't restrict my diet, but I have no appetite. I end up eating around 1,000-1400 calories a day. I used to count, and I don't now but I am good at guestimating with all of my past experience with counting. With this amount of food I maintain a healthy weight, I am not underweight at all. but, I wonder if I need to supplement with a multivitamin in this case. I also know that I am nowhere near enough protein. I am doing intuitive eating, and for important reasons, so I do not restrict or do any kind of diet. I eat whatever I want. To push only high protein foods would undo my progress and that is not what I want. I do incorporate these foods, but I eat such small portions and only twice a day usually. Do you have any recommendations for getting more protein and/or if I would need a multivitamin based on my intake? Thanks!
Is there a risk of some minerals/vitamins being rendered virtually "useless" because they are consumed in combination with other minerals/vitamins; e.g, Pt is not compatible with Mg if consumed together. At first it might sound reasonable, but why would our bodies have such a detrimental restriction? Nonetheless, is this true?
Great video, really enjoying the content on this channel. Here's a question for a future video: How important is the anabolic window? Should I be having a meal immediately after a workout to maximise gains, or is that a myth?
I live in Australia and my mum needs to take vitamin D supplements. She’s a paramedic and apparently she’s either in the ambulance, at the station or in the hospital and, therefore, lacks getting sunshine.
Isn't it true that most people aren't getting their daily nutrients from their diet because of how the food industry is now with all the highly processed and junk food?
i was getting bruise on my fingers from heavy computer usage from the scroll wheel and clicking, but after taking a couple multivitamins it completely went away after months of having the issue. I mostly eat pizza and chocolate.
Question. Would multivitamin be beneficial for general construction workers during the summer? Lots of sweat and walking, heat index ranging from 95-110°F daily. Lunch is usually canned tuna, canned chicken, or beef jerky (high salt, I know, but roughly 2 gallons of water intake per day.) No breakfast, no snacks, standard dinner.
Absolutely! Your diet sounds pretty unbalanced so that's exactly where they come in. Generally speaking you could also check your levels and then decide but that would require extra costs since blood work is too expensive imo
yup... need a Multivitamins to topup some of lost nutrients, but just take it 4 x a weeks so that we not dependable on the OTC supplements much & Multivitamins act a backup. a real nutrients should be come fm natural foods. check the Multivitamins label & some come with a bit low in doses especially the want that we need to buy seperately; Magnesium, Vit D3 (some with D2) & Vit K2 MK7 (some with K1 or K2 MK4). others like Potassium & Calcium, i dont think so need to added. some may add 2 more minerals aka Boron or Iron (boths depends which preferable)
I use your multi vitamin, and a separate 2Oug of Vit D. I follow a good balanced diet. But train as a triathlete between 8-12hrs a week. Is it wrong to just take these as a safeguard to make sure I have all I need?? Or do you suggest some of your other products ( male 44yr-old )
Sounds like you've already got all your bases covered in terms of vits and minerals. You could consider some ergogenic aids like beta-alanine if you want to improve performance but that's about it.
I have taken a multivitamin for 20 years. And I do see benefits. However, my issue with them is most of them have things like B6 and B12 in such massive doses (up to 10x the RDA) that it's a problem. Any suggestions on a multivitamin that provides no more than 100% of the RDA???? (I have nerve pain due to the B vitamin overload, which goes a way not long after I stop taking them) I don't want to cherry pick, I want a broad range of vitamins in one pill
@@Faisal-kz6kx Not yet. I found one called Smarty Pants that doesn't seem excessive but you have to take 6 gummies each day :( I need to find out if there is a pill form that you can take one or two a day...Not sure about the additional ingredients, I need to research it more.
If you eat a lot of whole foods...not processed food...a lot of vegetables and fruit and some great sources of meat you probably don't need a multivitamin. But I wouldn't do a cheap brand like centrum or the like everyday for any reason at all because they probably do more harm than good. But there's also some more expensive multis that probably do more harm than good. But there absolutely are reasons people need to take a multivitamin. If you have celiac, if you have intestinal permeability, if you have Crohn's, if a doctor suggests it for a wide range of illnesses or issues with the diet. There's no blanket statement advice that works for everyone and unfortunately that's what you get on TV and uninformed or forgetful nutritionists, doctors, and those speaking for them.
No, the RDV is enough for 95% of all people to get all or more than their possible intake of that nutrient. That is literally what the "recommended daily value" means.
I don't take vitamins and that can cause an iodine deficiency as i don't eat much processed food or meat and I don't add iodized table salt... until recently. I typically use a sea salt or Himalayan salt but I've started using some common iodized salt back in so i have a simple source of iodine. I cannot have dairy. I cannot have gluten. I'm not going to eat organ meat like liver. Seafood...good sources of seafood like cod are kind of a no no for me right now or face the consequences for a long time.. that pretty well leaves seaweed, vitamins, and table salt. I did take a vitamin the other day for the zinc and selenium because I felt like I was coming down with a cold but I got past that with oregano oil extract, sources of sulphur, zn gluconate, caffeine free herbal teas, and extra sleep. So I'm back to not taking a multivitamin.
Can you have too much of any vitamin in you? Just say you eat really well eat lots of different foods, and have a daily high enough calorie intake. You are getting enough vitamins from you’re food, so can you take a multivitamin also? Hypothetically? I just want to know if you can have too much of one vitamin or another. Thanks
You did not comment on the fact Multivitamins generally have poor bioavailability. Also suggesting that Multivitamins are a good buffer to a lacking diet is just plain wrong.
Actually, multivitamins tend to have quite good bioavailability whereas multiminerals can have poor bioavailability depending on the form provided. As for the buffer comment, I think you've taken it completely out of context as I did specify at the beginning of the video that people should be using a food first approach to get their nutrition. IN THE CASE that someone CAN'T or WON'T do that through diet (for all the reasons I mention), supplements are the only option available unless you have another suggestion within the context I discussed in the video. If I left something out, I'd like to know as I realise the videos I make are far from perfect and can always be improved.
So I take Ghost Lifestyle's Multi and the daily% is way over 100% for some. An example would be Riboflavin (Vitamin B2) is at 100mg which is 7692% of the daily %? Does it matter that you are getting more than 100%? I assume that your body will just excrete what it doesn't need, right? I would like you to do a video on Riboflavin - when I first started taking the Ghost Multi, my pee went neon yellow and I had a panic. I learned that it's normal and it's just your body excreting what you don't need and that;s just what Riboflavin does. I would like you to cover it. I was very concerned and I'm sure i'm not the only one. I would like your opinion on the Ghost Multi's ingrediants list - but I understand you won't cover another company's product.
I'm not an expert but I think it CAN be a problem. I develop nerve pain when taking high doses of B vitamins. It goes away when I stop taking vitamins. I'm on the search for a multivitamin that doesn't exceed the RDA!
Usually not. Also why do people bring up this price thing? Is it a murica thing, because where I'm from you can get about a months dose of multivitamins for 1€, so essentially for free.
some protein powder and drinks have added vitamins, along with micronutirent in food ,Will taking multiple vitamins pill be riskful of reaction of overdose of something
some may compete each others. any harms? all OTC supplements same too especially if u check the 'other ingredients' especially they added maltodextrin, talc, carrageenan & etc... 😱
Vitamin d, vitamin c, calcium can cause kidney stones. Calcium can accelerate blocks in arteries. Can cause chest pains. Taking thrice weekly is a safe bet.
I just took mine but not until 2 hours after I ate and I feel like I’m going to throw up a little lol. Imma have to remember to eat closer to when I take my vitamin.
Bingo. I'm not going to kid myself. I _know_ I have a subpar diet. For a long time I was chronically deficient in iron, D, potassium, B12, and creatine. I started supplementing at the advice of my doctor and have had adequate levels since. Yet I STILL have people constantly trying to tell me "You don't really need those" and "Vitamins don't even work."

Thanks!
Great video
What foods are high in magnesium?
Pumpkin seeds
Chia seeds
Dark chocolate
How many hours should we stay under the sun?
Is overdosing on things I might not necessarily need in a multivitamin bad?
I’ve started gymming for fat loss should I take it or not and plus I am a vegetarian…
His beard said 🔲 😂😂😂
Great video, really enjoying the content on this channel. Here's a question for a future video: How important is the anabolic window? Should I be having a meal immediately after a workout to maximise gains, or is that a myth?
noted!
Eat anytime for gains. Eat high glycemic carbs immediately after workout to replenish glycogen stores
I live in Australia and my mum needs to take vitamin D supplements. She’s a paramedic and apparently she’s either in the ambulance, at the station or in the hospital and, therefore, lacks getting sunshine.
Great Job..by the way I love your tee shirt..who made it??
Why do I have to look in your ear every 10 seconds?
Lmaoooo 😂😂😂😂
To check out the right angle beard
😂😂😂😂

I have a lot of health problems but not deficient in anything
However I do feel tired and weak all the time
Should I take a multivitamin?
I take 5 vitamins per day but didnt get result i wanna take one vitamin i mean multivitamins with extra vitamin d and b12 any brand suggestions?
Isn't it true that most people aren't getting their daily nutrients from their diet because of how the food industry is now with all the highly processed and junk food?
False. People CHOOSE to eat crappy food.
@@areguapirinope. Even veggies are all GMO. you clearly don't get it.
i was getting bruise on my fingers from heavy computer usage from the scroll wheel and clicking, but after taking a couple multivitamins it completely went away after months of having the issue. I mostly eat pizza and chocolate.
I eat 90% vegetarian and fruit and thats why i take multivitamin 1pc per day. I feel good actually.
That beard is incredible. So cubic.
I’ve been taking multivitamins. And recently i heard vitamin D3 is healthy for our blood flow and bodies!
As a Vegan, I'm often told I'm deficient in personality, humour and joy, what supplements can I use for this?
Lol
Creatine!
Good one👌
African food is the most potent food on the planet. Cassava leaves
Thank you! 😄 Highly informative! I will send to my boyfriend! Cheers
Did you find any?
@@Faisal-kz6kx Not yet. I found one called Smarty Pants that doesn't seem excessive but you have to take 6 gummies each day :( I need to find out if there is a pill form that you can take one or two a day...Not sure about the additional ingredients, I need to research it more.
@@christinep.
I've been using Additiva Multivitamins for a while now, they have 100% B6 and B12
I’m glad to know my multivitamin has enough b12 and everything else!
I was taking vitamin D3 for extra help with my body! I think I’ll stop taking it
Opti-men multivitamin by Optimum Nutrition is the best!
I do buy my stuff at GNC so you most definitely can get everything you need there from a cheaper multivitamin
No it’s not . It’s a shitty multivitamin and you’re losing your bills for nuttin
what i feel instead of buying a seperate suppliment just take 2 capsules of multivitamins
Thank you
I have a really high metabolism would I benefit from multivitamin????
I take metformin, therefore I take a b-complex for the b12 and fatigue
But why is your palm orange tho
Thanks
You could get overdose
Is there any harm when taking multivitamins pill when you don't need them? Other than the harm to my wallet of course
I took multivitamin and the iron in them cause diarrhea to me. Now I take multivitamins without iron.
Yea a whole $25 lol
Usually not. Also why do people bring up this price thing? Is it a murica thing, because where I'm from you can get about a months dose of multivitamins for 1€, so essentially for free.
THANK YOU
Thanks❤
*NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES PREVENTION* is the key, to keep the body and immune system works optimally
some protein powder and drinks have added vitamins, along with micronutirent in food ,Will taking multiple vitamins pill be riskful of reaction of overdose of something
Nah, I'm fine lol, most of them don't have 100%
not all absorbed by our body too eventhough its says 250% of DV
Are there any harms that can happen when taking multivitamins
No. Nothing, at all.
some may compete each others. any harms? all OTC supplements same too especially if u check the 'other ingredients' especially they added maltodextrin, talc, carrageenan & etc... 😱
Vitamin d, vitamin c, calcium can cause kidney stones.
Calcium can accelerate blocks in arteries. Can cause chest pains.
Taking thrice weekly is a safe bet.
I became iron, B12 and folate and Vit D déficient 😅not vegan but dont eat meat as often
I think single vitamins are much better than multivitamins ... too many vitamins at the same time menas your body won't absorb much of them.
I just took mine but not until 2 hours after I ate and I feel like I’m going to throw up a little lol. Imma have to remember to eat closer to when I take my vitamin.
Not many people eat “balanced” meals lol. Basically most Americans should take them lmao
Can we take multivitamin everyday for whole life
Its a supplement, its not a replacement, healthy diet is getting lost in the background noise around vit pills.
