I think that Black Smoke Magic was Mother Aniseya trying to remove herself and Mae from the conflict, but Sol thought she was harming Mae, so he acted on his senses before it was too late. Also, he was already emotionally attached to Osha, whom I think he saw as the weak sister who had been bullied, and he mistook Mae for Osha at that moment. From the first episode, they built that Master Sol is too emotional to be a Jedi. He has an attachment to his young padawans and has completely lost control during the fight with the Stranger.

what i like about this show is that it uses the lore and makes it interesting enough for those that don't know it, want to seek more.
i would love a show based even earlier in the high republic era, as well as, a series completely dedicated to order 66

I agree with what you're saying, but if they did a live action replay of Order 66 or Clone Wars stuff the old heads would riot! I enjoy the Acolyte and the new take on Star Wars myself, but hearing them complain is unbearable.

To answer the whole "always 2 their are" thing without going to deep.
The Sith at one time had numbers on similar to the Jedi. Hundreds to thousands. Because the Sith naturally crave power, infighting happen a lot which lead to their near extinction anlong with the Jedi activity killing them. One Sith, Darth Bane saw the problem that to many Sith makes them inherently weaker and more power hungry. So after becoming the only Sith left in the galaxy, he created the Rule of Two.
"Always 2 there are. No more no less. A master and an apprentice. One to embody the power and the other to crave it."
With this rule in place it meant that the master must find an apprentice to keep the line going. The apprentice trains until they kill by the master and become the new Dark Lord or the master kills the apprentice and now must find a new one. So the cycle repeats, the idea being each generation of Sith is stronger than the last.
Some Sith would break the rule and train an apprentice in secret so they could be used to overthrow the master. Which is what i think Qimir wants to do.
Hope this helps. Great reaction as always.

Torbin was giving in to his desire to go back to Courasant. I surmise that Torbin's feelings of isolation were unsettling to him much like Vernestra's feelings about traveling in Hyperspace... It made them uneasy. That's why Torbin took the Barash Vow.. That "uneasiness" left him open to be controlled by Mother Anasaya, he vowed for that to NEVER happen again. It took the power of the whole coven to control Kelnaaca. And even he had bad after effects of that "Possession"... It was much like I predicted it, with a few tweaks... It was all thier faults in one way or another.

I'll quote one of the best characters in Star Wars:
"I don't know what I hate more, cowardice or incompetence."
    Let's start with Torbin:
The problem with this character is the lack of development.
Here we have a character who, with one decision, essentially set off all the events.
    So, here's how it looks:
Torbin wants to return to Coruscant > The Jedi are supposed to return to Coruscant > Torbin decides to undertake a mission that the Jedi were not assigned to, in order to return to Coruscant > This leads to everything > After meeting with Mae, Torbin decides to kill himself.
    Does this make sense?
No, because we don't know this character. We don't understand.
He is used merely as a plot device to move the story forward, and it's terribly done.
    Sol, the absolute genius.
He held up a heavy metal structure with the Force but couldn't lift two children?
If it had been a matter of seconds, then it would have made sense. Here, Sol had time to think about what to do.
Alright, we could say he acted impulsively and wasn't in control, but they should have shown this better and explained why he got attached to Osha so quickly.
    The witches...
    First, the leader.
She wants to give her daughter to the Jedi because she wants it.
Then she transforms into some demonic entity. If she were thinking, she wouldn't have made such a move because she wouldn't want to escalate the conflict. She did not want to fight in episode 3.
Well, she did it because she probably wanted to die.
    Mind control over the Wookiee.
When Indara frees Kelnaka, all the witches die?
    What happened there? Why?

What did we need to understand more about Torbin he was a teen made dumb decisions on feels and trauma caused many deaths and killed himself when confronted with it, do most Stsr Wars fans that just know the movies know why Paltapine is so evil?

    • @hehu4025
      @hehu4025 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Junior2000625 Palpatine is an example of an ideal villain. As a viewer, you want to know more, but you have enough information to understand his main motivations.
In the case of Torbin, he is an irrational character. Yes, he is a teenager, but being a teenager doesn't justify his actions. Does being a teenager make someone an idiot? The answer is simple: no.
As a viewer, I don't want to dismiss it as "an idiotic teenager caused all this." I want to understand why he did it, but his character wasn't given a chance and was used merely as a plot device.
Torbin's pretext for his actions: "He wants to go back home." WTF
This is just stupid because a non-character became the key to the plot.
If you want a good but not ideal example of an irrational character, look at Barriss. Everything she says and her facial expressions are crucial to understanding her and her motivations.
There was still a lack of information (1 arc was enough for perfection) but after a little better analysis you understand her. That was enough and she is a real character.
On the other hand, you have an idiot who randomly decides he wants to return to Coruscant.
Why does he want to go back so badly?
Why does he decide to take such a radical action?
Why is he willing to risk his own life to return home?
You can speculate. I could say Torbin is mentally ill, and you can't refute that theory because you don't know his motivations; you can only speculate. He is not a character but a plot device.

He held up a heavy metal structure with the Force but couldn't lift two children?
Think of it this way- something is falling, you instinctively grab the best way you can get hold of it. Then you realize you can't hold it up- but want to save what's on top of it. How likely are you to be able to grab the smaller items off both without dropping them? We look at the force as magic and just able to redirect it- but it's been shown not to be that way.

OK, the Jedi having a Padawan is just part of their education and indoctrination process. They learn the basic skills from the Academy, and then they learn from a experienced Jedi and get field experience. For the Master it is seen as taking the next step as a Jedi, passing their knowledge and experiences on to the next generation. The Sith the rule of two was started by Darth Bane. In his time the Sith were legion and were called The Brotherhood of Darkness. Bane saw working together as weakness and counter to the Sith teachings. So he tricked the Brotherhood into killing them selves. After that he made the rule of two. A master to embody the dark side, and a apprentice to crave it and eventually become more powerful than the master. Disclaimer this is from Legends, and I don't know if they have changed it. Back to The Acolyte. The decisions the Jedi made in this show makes no sense. And why did the female Jedi kicking the witches out of the Wookie kill them all? Why did Sol try to lift the heavy ass bridge instead of just lifting the girls?

I love this too 8trac, but the traditional SW fans want to keep the Jedi totally emotionless and one dimensional. True, the Jedi were dead wrong in this situation. Not only with Sol playing CPS, then clearly favoring Osha over Mae, but even Torbin wanting to grab the girls without even getting his master's consent. I also like the smooth track at the end, but they are even complaining about that.
