    One of the best railway videos I have ever seen.
    The music is magical and fits perfectly with the late 50s.
    An absolute Masterpiece. Oh and I love the insertion of the shrubs and flowers .
    I agree wholeheartedly with all the other positive comments
    Thank you very much . Ted

      Hi Ted, in the early days heritage railways often looked more like scrap yards with long lines of rotting locos and rolling stock, that certainly isn't the case at the Watercress Line today, it is neat tidy and very well presented as are most heritage railways these days. The majority visitors aren't die hard railway enthusiasts, they are more likely to be families on a day out or Grandparents taking their Grandchildren on a trip down memory lane. The care taken with the gardens and shrubbery is a credit to those who create and look after the flower beds and Topiary. The kids are catered for with the wonderful play area at Ropley. A day at the railway in much more than a ride on a steam train.

      @@Timsvideochannel1 . Yes that’s right about the state of heritage railways today, but I can see from the videos that the Watercress line stands out when it comes to their presentation of their whole railway complex.
      I fall into the second category you mention and have definitely put the Watercress line on my list to take the grandchildren.. regards TED

    Hi Tim, Great video of the Mid Hants Railway. Great steam scenes that show the best of the efficient running of the steam trains. Thanks again, Ted

      Hello Ted, it's hard to believe these wonderful scenes can still be created so many years after the last steam hauled regular trains on the national network. I'm pleased you enjoyed it. Cheers. Tim.

    Hi Tim! Wonderful, the whole video. Real tradition and everything original. Class 20 has a really good sound, the engine is still a real slow runner. And something else is clearly noticeable. The time of the gas mask is almost a thing of the past in Great Britain. That makes filming fun again. You will already have noticed, I sent you a few things again. Cheers Tim and stay safe. 🍻

      Hello Hans, thanks for the links, I haven't had time to watch them all yet, I making the most of the good weather to sort the rotten exterior wood out on my workshop, I hadn't realized how badly it needed repairing. I'm pleased you enjoyed the video, it was a nice day out and the class 20 sounded good, even when it is working hard, it still runs slow compared with today's high revving diesels. Wearing a mask is a choice now in Britain, as you can see most people don't wear one. Take care and stay safe. Tim.

      Hi, I enjoy the diesels almost as much as the steam locomotives, the locomotive lineup was a pretty convincing scene from the fifties. The first Thomas the Tank Engine book was published in 1946 and stories of his adventures are still creating tomorrows railway enthusiasts.

    • @Timsvideochannel1
      @Timsvideochannel1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I love to see the inside of the signal box, it takes me back to my childhood when I'd cross the railway on my way to play with friends, in the signal box there was a large wheel used to operate the gates, sometimes if there was a quiet moment between trains the signal man would allow me in the box, there were so many levers and bells ringing all the time, it all looked and sounded very complicated to me as a young lad. Heritage railways are so much more than just steam locomotives, they are a window on the life railwaymen and women back in the days when working on the railway was like being part of an extended family.

      Olá, esta é a minha ferrovia de herança local, eu também sou um membro. Conheço muitas das pessoas que trabalham nas locomotivas e carruagens para mantê-las funcionando, são quase todas voluntárias. A ferrovia passa por um belo campo típico do sul da Inglaterra.
