    You are the only person that i have properly understood what base break is and what it does. Complete nursery explanation. Really good 👍

    I'm so impressed that you responded to every comment! Your information was great, but even if it wasn't I would give you a like and subscribe because you care enough to interact with your comment section. I always have my hairdresser break my base, btw. I'm a natural level 5 and I like blonde highlights.

      That’s so sweet of you! I always feel if people take the time to comment the least I should do is respond 🫶🏻 I bet your break the base looks great with your highlights

    I’m a cosmetology student and I’m having a hard time seeing how this is different than a root tap/smudge/shadow root. Could you explain the differences?

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The difference is a root tap/smudge/shadow adds color or deepen the base color. A break the base is lifting the base a lighter color so the line isn’t as harsh. So very similar in technique but different in the fact one is depositing color and one is lifting. Hope this helps explain the difference

    I am thinking about getting a undercut and I have very thick hair and it's curly U think it will work for me

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The undercut would help a lot with removing tons of bulk at the bottom of your hair.

    Is this with permanent color, or with Demi?

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It’s permanent hair color because I was lifting the base and Demi only deposits and won’t lift.

    is this good on someone with a level three ?

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes if you are trying to lift that base up only a few levels after you highlight ❤️

    Is a root smudge/shadow root the same as a base break?

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A root smudge or shadow root is when you are darkening the root. Base break is when you are lightening/lifting the regrowth a level or two. But it is done the same way

    What natural level are you?

  • @jackyward9634
    @jackyward9634 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So my client is like a level 4 natural and we’re putting foils in. How do I break her base . Also how do yu decide what level you break the base with ? And we ALWAYS use ash tone?

    • @jackyward9634
      @jackyward9634 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean do we always use an ash color for base breaking ?

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For her break the base I would use level 6a with 5 volume. Ash is normally best when you are lifting into those orange undertones

  • @kimwold
    @kimwold ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'd actually like to see how to make a brassy brown base(with highlights) cool toned, like the mannequin's brass into your cool-toned natural base, that looks much flatering, but for some reason there's zero to very little videos/info on TH-cam.

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s rare most people love a warmer base but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. All you would have to do is a natural color versus the ash and that will achieve a warm base ❤️

    You never mentioned the level on screen it looks like it could be anywhere from 6 to 7

    • @TheAngeSchofield
      @TheAngeSchofield  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes 🙌🏼 you are correct in guessing the level. Probably closer to a 6 than a 7
