I was six years old in 98' and saw Small Soldiers in theaters twice. I wasn't scared at all, lol.

I agree me either. I just thought it was an average movie. Btw happy 30th, welcome to the party pal.

Loved Pi. Saw it in the theater. I once owned a previewed Blockbuster vhs copy of Whatever. That movie made me sad. I didn’t see Lethal Weapon 4 for years because I thought, man, they have really jumped the shark with four of those movies. And now here in 2022, we have nine Fast and the Furious films. 9.

Small Soldiers is one of Dante’s best. I love the line by David Crosses character. “You put munition chips in toys ?”. You can tell when it’s a Joe Dante film when you see Robert Picardo and Dick Miller.

Not fair to compare Small Soldiers to Toy Story

The older I get the more I appreciate these guys. When I was younger I thought they were boring and only liked boring foreign movies but now I actually understand some of their reasoning.

I love Small Soldiers. They must've forgotten it's from the same director as the Gremlins movies. Edit: to add Gene's idiot savant comment was great. "I know you'll agree with part of that."

I liked the concept of Pi more than the film which was an extended music video, in my opinion.

Lethal Weapon 4 wasn’t awful, but lacked the charm like the 1st 3 films did but I marginally recommend it. Small Soldiers was terrific the toys looked good , it was unfortunate Siskel & Ebert didn’t like it.

Mel Gibson promised Richard Donner-before he went upstairs-that he would direct Lethal Weapon 5,so there's that.:)

I was psyched to hear Mel is directing it. It should be way better than number 4, although that wouldn't be a hard task

Who the hell wants to see an elderly Riggs ? Besides, they should have ended the series after the second film.

@@ryangettig274 You don't get what I am saying. Riggs was unhinged in the first film, he tasted vengeance in the follow-up and as originally planned, he was going to die. This is a character that was not supposed to have a future like a less disturbed Travis Bickle. Unfortunately, they kept him going so he just became another action character. Mel Gibson coming back at his age to play him once again is just plain stupid.

@@ricardocantoral7672Well, Ricardo-I'm gonna have to totally agree with you.Your'e spot on about how Shane Black wrote Martin Riggs.Your'e also spot on with your Paul Schrader-Travis Bickle comparison!I'ma huge Schrader man-maybe my fave of the film brats, and I've met him and maybe I just feel nostalgic for that era-I know I do:)Uncle Mel has enough on his plate with his Passion of The Christ sequel-Christ in the underworld & his resurrection!I still recommend a triple feature of BloodFather,BossLevel, and Last Looks!Where ever Gene&Roger are,Heaven bless 'em&you,Always Be Well-I see you alot in the old S&E re-runs:)-Ryan Gettig.

Huge fan of Joe Dante's 80s films but I was bored by Small Soldiers honestly, the character's looked cool though

Lethal Weapon 4 was on tv the other day and the opening scene is almost more corny and more unbelievable than the It's Always Sunny version of LW5 lol

I saw Lethal Weapon 4 in the theater; it was real bad.
I’m much more of a Die Hard series than a Lethal Weapon series person. Which is weird, because as an actor I think Gibson as a whole is far better than Willis.
