Quite graphically impressive for Game Boy game. The water in the Sewer stages has scrolling animations. Also the Foot Clan is ahead of the times with their driverless trucks.
Great review as always! I think I've been subscribed to you the longest out of any of my followed channels on YT (save maybe LGR or Kingdom Carts). An important note to add to the Stage 3 boss, Baxter: His projectiles can be destroyed, much like Rocksteady's, if dodging them in time isn't an option.
Great review/walkthrough. I’m a huge TMNT fan and I really liked these GB games as a kid, I feel they are pretty underrated along with the Manhattan project. I actually would really like someone to attempt another game in the style of radical rescue(Metroidvania), it’s the most unique turtles game from the Konami age. It was really hype when the cowabunga collection was announced/released last year. Anyway, looking forward to when you review the second game
They never mentioned whether shredder kidnaps April not just to get rid of the turtles but to make April fall in love with them or steal her belongings do they? Jafar tried to do in Aladdin right
@@pyrobison2002 not to mention aprils job as a reporter makes more money than a person who has a low paying job techinally that would mean Mario the plumber would make less money than April would despite both April and Mario being on the good side
I would personally give this game an A. One of the most fun & solid titles on any Nintendo console at the time, especially the Game Boy. The graphics are incredible for the time, & the music is awesome! I love this game & have played & beaten it so many times since I first got it I literally lost count, probably close to 100 times by now. An absolute classic.
I was about to suggest you to get the Cowabunga collection on PS4 if you have plans to cover the 3 Game boy games but i guess you still prefere using emulators when it come to getting footage for the videos since the footage quality is better huh?
I agree. Simplicity is a good thing sometimes! For example, I love the PS2 version simply called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". It's a beat-em-up based on the 2003 series where you play through seven sets of stages with enemies and bosses from the show. Very simplistic and arcade-style. It's great! However, it can be unforgiving in certain levels.
I never played this game. so i wonder why for this one it has you fight Shredder in the second to last level, then Krang in the final level when in turtles 2 and three on the nes you fight Krang then Shredder (or Super Shredder).
Loving see you still posting these walkthroughs/reviews after 10+ years. You deserve WAY more views and subscribers my dude.
I agree 100% I love this dude!
Crazy how it’s been 15 years since you reviewed TMNT on NES! Man time flies…
Great work, Aqualung!

I think this was also the first game for Michiru Yamane if Castlevania fame.
The number guessing game is the clock game from The Price is Right but instead they give you 10 guesses instead of the 30 second limit.
More accurately, Bullseye '72, the failed prototype of Clock Game that no one won because it was so unforgiving.
Another hidden gem. Deserved to be praised.

Man, I haven't thought of this game in a LONG time, but I sure loved it as a kid. Thanks for bringing back memories.
It is on the tmnt collection
Short but sweet.🙂

Loved this game as a pup
Why did they have a mini game at the beginning of Stage 5? You already start the level with full health!
Simple but this is what makes it good.

Maybe the Gameboy team thought Krang was the big bad from watching the cartoon.
The ending has the same exact text as the ending of the arcade game!
Wtf!?
SERIOUSLY!!! 🤷♂️
