The original transformer that came with my Bachmann Suwannee River went out on me after only about 10 usages. Got one ordered but plan on having at least two trains going on two tracks with switchers. Should I get another transformer or a new controller setup all together. New at this. I have two Bachmann 4-6-0s and another coming. Now I’ve got one more set to order to have enough track and it the Kelly Circus. It has a different controller then my first one does. @@rkygriz On my 2 Bachmann 4-wheel cabooses I added marker lights & a halfway dimmed light over what would be the Conductor's desk - didn't want to ruin the hypothetical night vision of the hypothetical future figures to be added in the cupola. 😎
@@scottfw7169 Come to think about it, I have several spare USA lanterns on hand. Maybe I'll add a couple to the caboose when I get the lights figured out. Thanks for the idea!
Hello there. I have the Christmas version of these updated 4-6-0 models, and accidentally broke the headlight's wires. Is it possible to rewire the board for the headlight's plug, and replace the bulb? Are the older annie bulbs compatible?
I'd give a call to the Bachmann Customer service people . I haven't taken the V#7 apart-at least not yet. So I honestly don't know what to tell you for this on. Sorry!

Do you know of any place to get a drive gear for a 4th gen chassis? I just bought this thing for my son and he cant even play with it. New chassis are almost $200 and all i need is a stupid plastic gear
Not sure on the watertightness of the Bmann Big Hauler. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to run one on wet tracks since it is an electrically powered product. Conversion to battery power might solve that issue. You could always try asking that particular question on the "Ask The Bachmann Forum: www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/ Lots of people on there who are experts on garden railroading. Bill Canelos is like a guru when it comes to issues like that. In the past, I've pulled up to 16 cars (mostly freight cars) with my older Anniversary Edition 4-6-0's. So, I'm not sure how many cars this newest version will haul.
Hobby shops, and Amazon are too expensive. I buy practically everything G Scale on Ebay. Which is where I find often the best deals. Take this loco for example. Most hobby stores would have charged over $1,000.00 for the locomotive and the Soundtraxxx TSU-4400. Add around $100.00 to install the Soundtraxx TSU-4400. My cost on Ebay for this was less than $500.00. So, definitely Ebay.
Hello there. I have an older anniversary and bought a replacement chassis for it. I noticed that the main gear had a crack in it, but was able to seal it with super glue and some instaset solution. Out of curiosity, are the anniversary chassis prone to splitting their gears?
I've owned several Bachmann Anniversary 4-6-0's over the last 20 years and never had that issue. My 4-4-0 came with a broken drive gear, but I was able to easily replace it. A broken drive gear isn't an issue normally found in the Anniversary 4-6-0. Unless it's been abused by hauling too much weight. And then any model train will suffer a breakdown. Limit the load to 8-10 freight cars,and 3-6 passenger cars(depending on weight),and yours should be fine.
@rkygriz Okay, thank you. I was super confused when I looked at the gears and saw the crack in the gear's axle. Hopefully it doesn't split anywhere else. When I pull my trains, I always like to pull a very light load. No more than 2 passenger cars. I'd only add a caboose if I was using my LGB mogul.

You will need to know how to solder in order to remove the wires for the headlight, and the smoke switch,and then to resolder them when you put it back together.Why do you want to shorten the smokebox? I mostly leave mine as set up by the factory,with the exception of replacing a standard chassis with an anniversary chassis from time to time.

Thanks! The caboose was made by MDC . I added a set of USA Trains metal wheels to add weight. Now I'm thinking about adding lights to the caboose.

@rkygriz I bought one of these and I plan on modifying it by shortening the smokebox. Is the body easy to remove like the older Anniversary 4-6-0s?
