The reason this strat works as well as it does in this video is because your opp is running Apoc instead of Gore. If they didn't, their Gore would go before their Odin. Odin would gain assist now on Gore's turn and then he would assist Gore's ultimate, proc'ing Odin's battlefield effect on his first turn special, irrespective of whatever Mephisto had previously done. The weird thing about all of this is that Odin *should* assist Mephisto's special but he doesn't. You can see in the video that the opposing Odin does get assist now on the opponent Mephisto's first normal turn (i.e. his second turn overall where he gets to use his regular abilities for the first time). However, when the opponent's Mephisto uses his special rather than his basic, Odin doesn't assist the attack despite having assist now. When Dulom uses his own Mephisto's basic, however, his Odin *does* assist the attack having also gained assist now. This doesn't have anything to do with Dulom's Odin having previously been mind-controlled - it just appears that Mephisto's special has been coded to prevent assists (sort of like SM Big-Time ultimate). This probably explains a few of the comments to this video where this strat hasn't worked out because those players were going up against Gore rather than Apoc. I suspect this is also how people who don't have Odin have been able to beat people who do - they are able to kill their opponent's Odin before he is able to apply his battlefield effect because he isn't doing it on his first turn special.
@@brandondulom3394 Not the case, actually. Gore reduces Assist Chance by 100%. Assist Chance is a passive ability on e.g. OML; it is not the same thing as Assist Now which is a positive effect. Gore doesn't do anything against Assist Now which is what Odin uses. EDIT: if you run your offence team against an opp who is running Gore instead of Apoc you will see that their Odin will assist their first turn Gore and therefore apply his battlefield effect on his first turn special, even though you are running Gore yourself.
I beat Odin without Odin about 4 or 5 times. I posted videos of some of the wins on TH-cam. It only works if they do not put Gladiator on defense though. My arena shard figured out what i was doing and added Gladiator. Haven't beaten Odin since but I came close a few times. One he starts countering all your attacks it's over.
Perfect timing again lol, I just unlocked Odin, I’ve heard a lot of people are dropping Meph on defense and going with the 4 piece Anni with Odin on defense to avoid the Odin taunt Edit: Also must be to avoid the CPU from doing the Meph special as well
We have a team who beats Odin without Odin in our shard. Shouldn’t happen but is. And the players only has 6 red star annihilators. I’ve complained to scopely to no avail
It's a hit or miss. Even after doing memph basic on glad twice , somehow enemy odin or meph idk flips my side from green to red and their side the other way around, and than it goes haywire from there.

I’m using Gorr so they wouldn’t assist anything

I just got Odin this morning and just wanted to thank you for making my journey to #1 easier.
Happy to help brother

Such an "Excellent Review" Dulom, thanks!
I have been losing in arena with a baby Odin and now I have a chance, thank you mate really appreciated
Very informative... wish I had your toons lol by the time I get there the arena meta will change.

I'll be more interested if you put out a video of how to beat Odin with out Odin.😂😂😂😂
Funniest shit I heard all day!
What about the same attack if they have Gorr on defense? Does that change things?
Not at all honestly
Do you use Odin as a striker in other game modes? Or always keep as raider?
always raider

id love to see how
This doesn't work for me. My Mephisto always assists even though he has less dmg
That's for end game players. For me: Everyone using Annihilators or Spider society in arena, Any way to counter those ?
annihilators mirror is the best way
Can confirm…this does not work. Tried 4 times….0 for 4
You can see it does work, could be too big of a punch up for ya

No apoc, interesting...i don't use Meph. I hit Auto, walk away....about a 90% win rate
Just now unlocked super skrull as an f2p im so happy 🎉
