Yes, I remember that experimenting between captain America, drax and hand sentry. Anything that would protect Crossbones and buy him time. Once he got his ultimate off, it was lights out
Hey man thanks for the video enjoy watching it I was ranked as high as 7 at one point but I haven't broke top 50 in a long time I just got Mephisto yesterday so I'm trying to get back up to the top 50 again I kind of like your option of just putting it on auto and letting things fall where they may by the way have you found another good use for Mephisto I see him on war defense I'd like to try to use him though somehow besides Arena I heard he's okay on the Mystic node but I try it after my night stalkers were wiped out and he didn't seem to do much but we do the highest level difficulty for orcas raid and I don't have mine Mephisto quite topped out yet I'll probably end up putting them on war defense but I'd like to try to use him some first seems like a shame to go through all the time and effort to unlock him and then just leave him on defense and never use him
Thanks for the comment! I must say the difference between 5 and 7 stars on Mephisto is not very significant in Arena. Certainly not on attack anyway. Having said that, I would recommend doing the second DD7 run. A stronger Mephisto doesn't hurt and might give you a more solid defence. With War, I happily use Mephisto on attack - I have him with the undying team and they punch up very nicely against a variety of non-War meta defences. It does seem a bit strange to go through all that trouble to unlock him just to have him in defence. At least on attack I have the satisfaction of using him!
Sorry but everything here is wrong. Against that defense Gorr does nothing, you need to replace him with Ultimus. 1. Use Mephisto's Empowered Basic and then Special on Gladiator. This will drop him into yellow health. 2. ...then Ultimus uses his Ult on Gladiator which kills him, giving your entire team 15% turn meter, and this also applies Ability Block to their Mephisto. 3. Apoc uses his Ult, and then you target Thanos with Apoc's empowered basic. The reason for this is that Thanos' 50% health passive will not trigger if his health is dropped by % health damage, so Apoc's Ult will not trigger the passive. 4. Take down Thanos and make sure he doesn't get back to green health. 5. At this point it's over. PS: With some bad RNG your Apoc might go before your Ultimus, if this happens, you can still Ult into Thanos because Mephisto always gives him Taunt. Also... if your Ultimus is weak and can't kill the Gladiator, just ignore that and Apoc Basic the Thanos anyways.
That's a really well presented way of how the fight should be played out. Thanks! Unfortunately for me, I can never get things to go my way. More often than not, my ultimus (3 diamonds) does not kill their Gladiator and so I am faced with who to drill. If I drill Gladiator, Thanos kills me later. If I drill Thanos, both Gladiator and Thanos eventually get back to green health and I still die. My win rate with this method is ~20% and I am fed up with not being able to make this work when others can. My full auto was a facetious experiment to see what happened if I just mirror matched and left the fight unattended. I've been doing it a few days now and I win rate is 60-80%, and I'm not wasting time playing it out and getting stressed. Believe me, I would have preferred to play it out like you and others and win 100% but this is currently the next best thing...until Odin unlocks!
Use turn 1 Mephisto empowered basic on Glad to reduce max health by 50%. Then use regular basic. Run Ultimas instead of Gore and use ultimate on Glad. That or Apoc Ult will finish him. Then use Apoc punch on Thanos if you can and focus him down. If you can't (because their Mephisto ends up putting taunt on Gore), ignore Thanos to keep his health above 50%. You can use your own Thanos special to stun him but only if that won't bring him below 50%. Then focus down Apoc, Mephisto then Gore and leave Thanos for last. The fights usually take a few minutes but I have never lost when using this strategy.
I was having no joy doing that. The fatigue on my team was really holding me back in the long game. It wasn't just the fact it wasn't working for me, but rather it was not even a contest at times. Anyway, the way I see it, this is just a temporary solution until Odin is unlocked. Odin is very the much answer to most things these days!
I miss old arena, there used to be some really fun theory crafting.
