Great video! I live in SC but also lived in FL. Both are great states and have their pros and cons. The Gulf of Mexico beaches in Florida are exceptionally beautiful, which can’t be overlooked, as well as being able to pre-pay for college. SC does have a property tax on vehicles, campers and boats, which is bs, while FL doesn’t have a state income tax.

Thanks for watching and your input! I do agree, the Gulf beaches are gorgeous! Yes, pros and cons of both to consider!

If you are retired Florida wins hands down. That bs personal property tax goes back to British rule I think. And the income tax will nail you on pretty much everything except social security. If you have pensions and retirement accounts they will get a good piece of it.

Great summary. Would be interesting to see what you think about SC vs NC/GA. I lived in both NC and SC and as much as I loved the low country, my heart always is back with Asheville. But ya never know, as my wife says, "There's something special about the low country that you don't feel in NC." Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the fair and honest comparison. Live near Pompano Beach and with windstorm insurance costing $16,000 per year with a $53,000 deductible we have serious insurance issues. Used to live in Spartanburg SC but that was long ago.

We had a house under construction in FL and opted out of the deal to remain in SC. The reasons for us...traffic in FL (we were building west of Orlando) and just too flat. We live near the NC/SC border near I-26. We love the mountains!

I’m torn but mainly just scared I think lol I am officially an empty nester single mom I have had kids with me or seniors that I used to take care of for 32 years so now I’m in my own and keep saying that I wanna do something different And I thought we just put what will fit in my car and just start driving lol your video made me think maybe this lady could give me some better insight thank you. I will probably retire in 2 years but definitely by 75, You make it sound so amazing where you live I want to vacation there soon. I am concern, if South Carolina has diverse population? I used to live in NYC, I feel comfortable because it is diverse, as well as moving to Florida with a big Spanish population. At workplace I feel comfortable being around different races not only white. Im considering moving to South Carolina because Florida is so expensive, but however moving to a place where it is not diverse, I feel uncomfortable I might get racist comments and remark. There are still some racist people in Florida, like this white old dude asked if I speak English, and this Karen calling a manager for me because she cant hear my voice, and this white old man uber driver asked if I rent the entire house or just a room when he dropped me off the house that Im renting. LOL

@@dadejavusc thanks for pointing this out but from what I’m sensing from this guys post above apparently is not what he considers diversity.. He’s not talking about the black and white population in South Carolina. He wants a large Spanish speaking population and if that’s not the case apparently he does not consider it diverse, which ultimately makes no sense to me at all. 🤦🏽‍♂️
