This is a well informative video. I will definitely share it with people who want to move back South from the Northern States. It seems to be that we are experiencing the Great Migration. The more the cost of living and home buying are becoming even more expensive in the Nothern States. People are choosing to move South for better home buying opportunities. The Carolinas are great places to relax and enjoy life. I personally feel that the southern states have more of a family oriented committed. Each state shares an admiration for one another. In 1712 Nouth Carolina & South Carolina was officially divided. South Carolina is a Vacationer Paradise. Your comments on demographic statistics was on point. Winston comments also refreshing.

BRING UP THE ROADS!! You can actually often tell the difference when you cross the border. North Carolina has far better cared-for roads, which factors into your decision because of wear and tear on your vehicles. However, North Carolina is TERRIBLE at planning for future growth, which translates into a worse transportation infrastructure, which results in ridiculous commute times, especially near larger cities like Charlotte and Raleigh. South Carolina’s slower growth makes that situation better, though constant interstate construction near Greenville negates that a bit. Also, the BEST place to move to by far in both states is Fort Mill, SC. Great commute to Charlotte, AWESOME schools and such a beautiful place. However, you PAY for that privilege, and real estate will NEVER relax in Fort Mill, so finding a place to live can be tricky.
@@LivinginRaleighTV The people, not a bunch(a few)of transplanted Yankees telling us what we are doing wrong. Don't generally cave in to the "woke" crowd, the NBA crap, and all the other political stuff. I have lived several places,SC is as good as any, better than most. We are not a bunch of uneducated, toothless, racists like people try to portray us. And we are not oppressed as all the liberal politicians would suggest,or just flat out lie about. I just prefer SC. Decent weather, several types of environments, beaches, mountains, forests, swamps, etc.
When I was house hunting along the coasts of North and South Carolina, I was truly surprised that all of the North Carolina areas were overrun with mosquitoes. I stopped looking in North Carolina and concentrated my search in South Carolina. Still can’t find anything affordable.
Im in Charlotte, used to live in Fort Mill so borderline. We really don’t get any crazy weather and when the hurricane comes it’s not even felt here. 😅
Those numbers are fastest growing, not largest. NC is the 19th fastest growing economy and SC is the 10th fastest. Growth rate of SC is slightly faster at 2.6% compared to NC at 1.6%. NC has a much higher GDP, but SC is growing slightly faster percentage-wise.
Not even close. Doesn't take a math major here, when your gp is low as SC is then inevitably your percentage rate is higher than NC who's GDP is at least twice that of SC.
Each state is growing at roughly the exact same rate in actual dollars, except NC's GDP is $566,000,000,000.00, while SC is less than half that at $248,000,000,000 which = higher percentage on a much lower number, but not more actual growth. +it demands mentioning that this statistic was taken during the HB2 era when growth slowed considerably due to new business temporarily avoiding NC. That is all in the past now, and things have sure changed as all the new job announcements of 2021 have shown. You can bet that NC is not at 1.6% currently.
I feel like both states are great honestly I’ll take both of them over anything in Georgia Atlanta is way too crazy and you really get the best of both worlds in either states these are the most affordable places in this country probably 😀
I've lived outside of Atlanta -Chamblee-and liked it very much. At least, they have MARTA to get around if you have a disability. Some places-like Alto-are small and have zilch for disabled persons. Small towns and citi are also backwards when it comes to hiring those with disabled persons, even those with 3 college degrees and education, like my friend w/mild CP.
Could you also do a video on the Charlotte/Mooresville/Lake Norman region ? I really love this area. And if you could mention if this area is a good place to start a small manufacturing business. Thank you !!
i live in greenville s.c after charlotte and raleigh there is nothing better. that greenville charleston and Columbia make you laugh with your comment those three cities have everything you can imagine and the annexation laws of South Carolina make the cities of South Carolina look smaller, they are 2 or 3 times bigger
what a cutie pie dog, he probably would appreciate nc better as it is less hot. what do you think about the surrounding areas of greensboro nc. there are homes I have been keeping an eye on, they dont seem to be selling very fast. I had my house assessed by a realtor on what I could ask and get she said if I had wanted to sell at that time it would of been sold in 3 days because there is already a guy interested in my home (the area and amount of land and fact the house has had alot of improvements.
Winston is very cute and he is a big boy now. Greensboro is great. You get more house for your money there compared to Raleigh and Charlotte. We don't work directly in those areas, but we would imagine the market is going strong. Sometimes when a home sits on the market, it is overpriced or in need or repairs. We know a good agent that works that area. Email us if you need help finding a home there.
Well I was born in Asheville North Carolina and lived some of my childhood there but have lived in Simpsonville sc for many years I got say sc because Simpsonville is great
My wife and I are looking to move to NC and I'm wanting to get my real estate license but I want to be an agent or realtor not a broker but every school I look up talks about broker license not agent or realtor license... Are you able to give me some recommendations of schools to look up that specifically do realtor or do they all do broker?
These 3 names are used interchangeably to mean the same thing. You get your license to become a real estate broker. Once you get the license you are become a RE broker/RE agent. To be a Realtor, you have to join the national association of Realtors after getting your license and you do this by paying money but it’s not a separate license. Hope that helps.
I grew up in Charlotte but have lived in SC for the last 23 years. I normally discount anything than any UNC-CH person says (NC State Engineering graduate here), but you made a pretty good effort to be fair, so I'll give you a few reasons that I prefer South Carolina. 1) The cities can't gobble up the suburbs/exurbs without the permission of each individual land owner. If a NC city wants to annex your land, you don't have much to say about it. 2) South Carolina stays out of debt. SC roads are pay as you go, while NC issues bonds for road projects. That helps NC short term, but increases costs of roads long term. NC used to have great roads, but that has declined in recent years. 3) Yankees and liberal whackos have completely taken over the major cities. Taxes in NC cities are way higher in taxes than in SC cities. 4) Traffic is insane in the cities, especially Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham. The only serious traffic problems in SC are around Charleston (building roads over water and marshes is difficult). 5) There are actually good manufacturing jobs in SC that you don't have to have Computer Degrees to get. BMW in Greenville/Spartanburg and Boeing in North Charleston are the best examples. 6) Education in most of SC is not as bad as its ranking. The biggest problem are the rural areas between Florence, Columbia and Charleston, where a high number of poor people live. 7) SC, especially the upstate area is a wonderful shade of dark red (my personal preference). 8) Finally, the University of South Carolina mascot is the Gamecocks. These aren't you basic farm chickens that are raised all over NC (I think NC still has more chickens than people). Gamecocks are outfitted with metal gaffs on the back of their legs just above the feet and are bred to fight. Look closely at the Carolina logo and you can see them. If a gamecock got a hold on that blue horned ram you like so much, those gaffs would slice up that ram in many very tender places on the glorified goat, which would send it running for the Old Well where it would collapse and bleed to death.
The Cities not being able to annex property. Which is a good thing, is the prime reason the cities populations are so drastic. between the SC and NC. For instance, Greenville SC shows a population of 74,207 (2021) whereas the metro population is 540,000 (2021) and the Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson Area population is 1,487,610 (2020)
OMG!!! I sooooo agree with everything you said. I think SC has been misunderstood and discounted for so long. There are so many positive things going on down here - that's why I chose SC over NC. And the people are friendlier. Charlotte is a hot mess --- too many northerners taking over, bringing their BS rules and attitudes to the south. I grew up in DC, when that town was more heavily influenced by the southerners who migrated there between the 1920s and 1950s. I moved to Columbia, SC in 2020 after living in that hellhole Harrisburg, PA for 10 years, and the friendliness is contagious down here. I never subscribed to the attitudes of Pennsylvania folks, and I'm glad I did not. But I work for SC Dept of Ed, and they are doing so much to make our schools here better. Nobody sees the actions behind the scenes of what educators and state administrators are doing in this beautiful state, but soon people will begin to see.
Great video. We have friends near Charlotte, NC. But which state would be best for jobs (I'm an IT guy and my wife is a nurse), and buying property? We own two horses and it would be nice to keep them on our own property.
NC definitely wins for jobs especially in those fields. But you'll find opportunity in both states. Property is typically a little less in SC, but outside of the major cities you can find property in both states for a reasonable price. We also have equestrian communities in the Raleigh area and other areas as well, which are a good option for horses. For example, check out Portofino in Clayton (Raleigh area), we recently sold a home in there.
NC by far.. they have alot of horse farms and attractions revolving around horses..as far as both of ur occupations the pay is much higher in NC..trust me on this one
Give my South Carolina any day, the reason for the bad driving record is I85, people traveling between Charlotte and Atlanta 🤦♂️ And if anyone says NC is the real Carolina well, they drunk 🥴

Good points!
You have never lived in the beautiful Low Country of South Carolina!! I would not trade it for most places where I have lived!!
FORT MILL, South Carolina, is not a favorite place, believe me.
South Carolina all day,every day!!!!
What do you like better about SC?
@@LivinginRaleighTV The people, not a bunch(a few)of transplanted Yankees telling us what we are doing wrong. Don't generally cave in to the "woke" crowd, the NBA crap, and all the other political stuff. I have lived several places,SC is as good as any, better than most. We are not a bunch of uneducated, toothless, racists like people try to portray us. And we are not oppressed as all the liberal politicians would suggest,or just flat out lie about. I just prefer SC. Decent weather, several types of environments, beaches, mountains, forests, swamps, etc.

I agree!!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Winston Nailed it ! Great job to both of you... 😅
Yes he did! Thank you!
When I was house hunting along the coasts of North and South Carolina, I was truly surprised that all of the North Carolina areas were overrun with mosquitoes. I stopped looking in North Carolina and concentrated my search in South Carolina. Still can’t find anything affordable.
....and you won't.
Im in Charlotte, used to live in Fort Mill so borderline. We really don’t get any crazy weather and when the hurricane comes it’s not even felt here. 😅
Easy choice: CHARLESTON SC
Amazing place!
you cant go wrong with moving to upstate south Carolina (Greenville county and up)
Nice
Winston is adorable!
Yes he is!!
Super cute! Just moved from Charleston to Raleigh!
Awesome! We love Charleston and Raleigh
How is NC ranked 19th and South Carolina ranked 10th in economy? NC has a higher gdp than SC. I don't understand that.
@@LivinginRaleighTV I'm surprised SC's GDP isn't as high as NC's. I woulda thought SC would be higher.
@@davidkaseykelly707 that's why I was confused I was like NC along with GA has a larger GDP than SC
Great video dude.
Excellet video! Thank you!
Great video! I am your fan! Thinking of moving to Raleigh!
Thanks for watching! Hope to have you here!
what is the rent there for a medium looking place, nothing to fancy
I agree with Winston. Plus, he's cute!
Hi Winston ❤️and thanks for the video 😊
Thank you, Winston appreciates the support!
Great job Winston! You're a natural! I also agree with your choice!
Winston says... thank you so much!
Both states suck
I would literally trust anything and everything Winston's got to state!
He’s a wise man!
I just moved from NC to SC lol.
Awesome
Subscribed and bell notifications are on just because Winston said So! He is the cutest. Love all these videos Cheers!
Thank you! Winston is glad!
Coastal SC has more in common with Florida than NC
I agree 100
Love living in Lake Wylie ( York County ) South Carolina..
Nice !
South Carolina is Growing Fast especially with New home Developments and New Job Opportunities!
Absolutely!
Awesome, dogs and kids score with the youtube algo. Great vid.
Thanks!
Could you also do a video on the Charlotte/Mooresville/Lake Norman region ? I really love this area. And if you could mention if this area is a good place to start a small manufacturing business. Thank you !!
I love that area also it’s beautiful
Work in NC and retire in SC. Period.
Winston is an adorable special guest!
Thank you so much! We'll let him know
I believe he is more of an Ed Mcmahon type, that is "co-host" rather than just a special guest - Let's hope so...he is so cool!!!
im in north sooooo yay
i live in greenville s.c after charlotte and raleigh there is nothing better. that greenville charleston and Columbia make you laugh with your comment those three cities have everything you can imagine and the annexation laws of South Carolina make the cities of South Carolina look smaller, they are 2 or 3 times bigger
Thanks for sharing
Excellent Video! I've watched many. It wld be great if you did other states with the same data. I.E Georgia & Tennessee...
what a cutie pie dog, he probably would appreciate nc better as it is less hot. what do you think about the surrounding areas of greensboro nc. there are homes I have been keeping an eye on, they dont seem to be selling very fast.
Awww Winston is so cute! :D
He sure is!!!
South Carolina is better if you like your freedom and don’t mind dodging potholes
Thank you for video.🌷🤗
Thank you
Hi, Winston! 🤗
As always great information. Keep bringing Winston onto your videos. I'd love to see this adorable cutie grow up.
We definitely will. He's huge now!

States to remind nameless... Shidddd NY gotta be one of them ! They do not gaf 😂
I've lived-in North Carolina all my life. We have the mountains and coast line
I hate the speed limit and construction in SC.
because you put your dog in this video you earned a like from us buddy 🤣
Haha thank you! He’s a big boy now. Will need to film another video with him
Greenville is the best town. (SC)
What do you like about it?
USC WAS FOUNDED IN 1801, merely 12 YEARS after UNC. Not 100 years as you stated. For the record
Awesome video!😊
Thanks! 😊
Winston ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the info.
Thank you and yes! We love Winston!
I'm from NC and live in Coastal SC. About the same. SC is more conservative
I believe you forgot to mention the SC Industries in comparison...
As for schools, there are a lot of options. We like Superior school.
On BBQ alone, NC by a landslide.
We like both states BBQ but NC is hard to beat
Myrtle beach is nothing like the other beaches around, Dirty Myrtle is like “K-Mart”on the beach.🤣
Lol… it’s not all like that.
Well said👍👌❤...big up from🇯🇲👈
Thanks
I'm sure that number plate shade was for Florida, the best drivers on the road.
Here is one difference. NC is very liberal/non-Religious and SC is more conservative and Christian
North Carolina 🇬🇪 vs South Carolina 🇦🇿
Yep
What largest city in North Carolina and South Carolina?
Charlotte NC and Charleston SC
NC is like a big brother to sc
Sure
I said that a year ago so true
That's funny cause I love in South Carolina
Give my South Carolina any day, the reason for the bad driving record is I85, people traveling between Charlotte and Atlanta 🤦♂️
And if anyone says NC is the real Carolina well, they drunk 🥴
I love South Carolina 🧡
