All other protagonists: Killing game has taken many of our friends but we can't give up. We'll escape as long as there's hope Teruko: You will all die here and I'll survive cause I'm the mc and you're not
Teruko being self aware of here luck and seeing herself as the "protagonist" is so interesting because she knows she's gonna live since she's the ultimate lucky student meaning in her eyes she doesn't have to do anything in her eyes just simply wait and let the story unfold while essentially watching from above
Yes, I also really love how all of this was foreshadowed with her bio opening line ("I will survive this killing game no matter what", I think) which seemed pretty generic but it turned out to have a more literal meaning for her. Also, with so many 4th wall breaks I wouldn't be surprised if Teruko was right and some V3-esque twist was revealed at the end. Either that, or MonoTV is actually uploading the KG to youtube, which would be pretty funny.
It makes sense. She apparently lived in poverty before getting kidnapped and now she has everything she could ask for. She probably can't die because of the killing game either, even if she was to be executed, she'd survive somehow, so it's mostly just an inconvenience.
Makes A LOT of sense.. Her way of perceiving this actually.. Kind of realistic. Unlike other Danganronpa protagonists, who strive for hope. It seems she's fallen into not trusting everyone so she wouldn't be hurt again. But, also, having allies is not bad, but also. *Don't be too trusting* She has also suffered before the killing game, so, I understand why she'd act like that. But, one more thing for Teruko. I think deep down she knows it also hurts to isolate yourself from everyone, but, also. That was because, she was betrayed by the first person she met in this killing game and the one she managed to trust the most aside from everyone else. I can't blame her for it, but, she can't stay like that forever too.
I think Charles has Teruko's secret. That's why he reached out to her towards the end for exploration. And honestly? That makes me see him in a brighter light than last time. It's nice of him, to be somewhat considerate. I'm really curious as to what Teruko's secret is, or what she went through to make the statements that she made here.
It s the fault of David because I think is he who say to Xander to kill Teruko. Xander will makes this only if this idol says it and not an other person (sorry for the faults I'm french)
Teruko declaring herself the protagonist and that everyone else will die is a serious death flag in my mind. You've got to wonder what she's gone through to expect that.
Fr I was discussing this episode with my brother and he says it’d be interesting if Teruko DID die considering how confident she is in surviving. It’d be an interesting twist
i think i sense a possible friendship blossoming between charles and teruko. other than eden, he was the only person who didn’t accuse her of killing xander during the trial. teruko seems to be aware of this as well since her words weren’t as harsh towards charles compared to the rest of the class. with teruko distancing herself from the group and charles being humbled after the last chapter, it appears the tables have turned for these two. with this, i can see charles having a talk with teruko and maybe even being a step towards her character development. the same can be said for eden as well, and that also opens a possibility of eden, charles, and teruko forming a trio of some sort. yeah, that’s my prediction for this series, and i’m gonna be rooting for it.
I too could feel that! But one mistake you made: Charles didnt accuse her is not really true. He was unable to accuse anyone at that time. He was still at shock from seeinn the blody (but still alive but uncuncios) body of teruko. Not sure how he would have acted if he wasnt like that. He seems like someone who thinks a lot. Maby he would have come like everyone else to the conclusion that teruko killed Xander or he might have sayed that they should discuss this more because of the other clues. Like i said he seems like one of the smartest here so he might have feelded the superior plot of the trial.
@@tntjrock3197 i’m aware that he wasn’t able to accuse anyone due to the shock of seeing xander’s body, but regardless, he still didn’t accuse teruko since he wasn’t involved in most of the trial.
@@tntjrock3197 I think that after seeing Teruko’e behavior, he realizes that she’s the most rational person in the group and what he thought of her at the beginning of the series isn’t true and that in a situation like the killing game it’s best to stick around somebody like her
Anyone else find how Arei acted this episode really interesting? I feel she seemed especially frighted once she received the motive.... makes me wonder whether its the secret she was given that's made her so scared, or whether shes scared of revealing her own.
I wouldn’t be surprised if she got her own actually, and then just lied about it to protect it from going to somebody else. Either that or the secret she got was REALLY bad.
@@Dababy-sb1be That’s only assuming that they were mixed around in pairs. If they were random, then it’s completely possible she is the only one. For example: This isn’t the actual order or anything from what we’ve seen but… Ace - Nico Veronika - Ace Arei - Arei J - Veronika Rose - J Levi - Rose Teruko - Levi Hu - Teruko Charles - Hu Arturo - Charles Eden - Arturo Whit - Eden David - Whit Nico - David Everyone gets somebody else’s except Arei, so it’s definitely possible
Ace going 'FUCK IT" about the investigation, the motive and the killing game is probably the biggest Live Flag he could have this chapter (this is my being hopefully he will LIVE) Also you know someone is complaining a lot if ACE is the one scolding you for it.
This is an AMAZING welcome back, and I've got a theory. Every good dangan has a core theme behind its cast and I maaaaay be wrong but I think each person here was designed with a different coping mechanism to deal with trauma. Charles just freezes, Teruko responds with apathy, Ace panics if he thinks too hard, whit (god I hope nothing bad happens to him, but he has it coming) responds b turning everything into a joke, I'd harbor our resident artist is maladaptive daydreaming, and so on. Even our dead contestants are part of that, with the asshole traitor being rebellion in the face of trauma and poor Min being a great case of trying to always please those in power, intended or not. The others all have forms of it too.
that makes a lot of sense since the first scene basically was Eden and Levi talking about how they'll cope- Eden will distract herself and put on a brave face for the sake of the others and probably have a breakdown at some point, Levi is worried about grieving the "wrong" way so he'll probably go for what seems normal rather than what will actually help him (I doubt he necessarily knows himself, so I wonder if maybe he has alexithymia or something similar?)
@@bugbear2357 interesting take, with the newer episodes, spoilers below for that by the way, I'm pretty sure my theory has been even further pushed. I am pretty damn sure that mr suspicious anxiety in the family is denial... Or Arturo. In all honesty I'm not sure which is which
@@pixaphy your theory is making a lot of sense so far. spoilers for the rest of chapter 2 up until the second episode of the trial •also we know Arei's meanness was a way for her to not feel helpless in the face of cruelty, to help her survive the shit her sisters and peers pulled •Nico either submits to aggression or goes full murder (I'm wondering if they were possibly manipulated into it by the person with the manipulation secret, since it seems so wild for them to go 0 to 100 without anyone or anything else involved? they are kinda autistic coded and autistic ppl are either very prone to manipulation or impossible to manipulate in my experience as an autist with many autistic friends) •Arturo I think is denial considering his reaction to Eden bringing up his sister was literally "that didn't happen and I refuse to acknowledge it or I will kill yoy" •idk what David is doing but it's not working since he's already starting to crack •Rose _has_ to remember anything awful she sees because of her memory and thus becomes avoidant, not wanting to have things stuck in her brain and the accompanying nightmares •Veronika...well there's a pretty high chance she's the one with the sh secret and she's got a lot of issues •I'm not sure about J, but she has internalised misogyny from being forced to dress girly as a kid so something to do with that? she did get mean at the trial with Arturo but he had basically been stalking her so idk •Hu I'm really stuck on. it's possible she's the manipulator and her mom friend personality allows her to control people more easily, but even if not I think she reacts to conflict by trying to assert herself as an authority figure
Thinking about it again, I'm not so sure. Charles was already thinking about her before he received the motive. He was the only one who noticed she was missing.
honestly, teruko is becoming my favorite character out of the cast she doesn't seem like something you see in a typical fanfiction danganronpa she acts and feels like an actual person
I find Eden so suspicious for literally no reason... But if there's a mastermind, I'm gunning for her. Hopefully in this round, my favorites won't die like last time
My money's on Veronika, honestly. I feel a horror-obsessed psycho(logist) would *definitely* insert themselves into their own experiment rather than use a mole/confederate, and she consistently, yet subtly, stokes suspicion among the group. Like how she shoots down Whit's claim about the food being safe w/o mentioning how Eden & Levi wouldn't gain anything by working together and suspicion would fall solely on them-facts she clearly realized given her decision to eat anyway; facts any cooperative group member (esp. a psychologist) would feel inclined to share. Not to mention her bailing out MonoTV by describing how the secrets motive is still a threat, and other details from Ch.1 I'm likely forgetting (like her hyper-specific questions regarding Teruko's luck). Could be reading too far into it, but that's part of the fun.
@@atiim6751 she seems almost too obvious, but could that be a double bluff? either way I definitely think she'll be interesting, possibly becoming seen as antagonistic if she's insensitive
wow theres so much going on in this episode alone and I love it!! Loved the cute interaction between Eden and Levi at the beginning. Eden's clearly shaken but trying to support the group and despite the resistance from a lot of them. And Levi's unfortunate past was kinda hinted at through the brass knuckles he was given and the way he acted during the last trial - I can't wait to learn more about him! I find it really interesting how he looks to others to how he should act and express emotions - i really hope this gets explored further in the future!
I'm going to take a shot in the dark about my fave character, arei (I really like the bowling girl character, they rarely show up in anime). In her bio on the DRDT tumblr her quote is something like "if I tell you a secret, you'll promise to keep it right?" If I had to guess she's the one with the darkest secret. It could be something like she cheated to become the ultimate bowler or she's a fraud and that no one liked her when she was growing up, more than likely she had a bad childhood that led her to become who she is now. I hope that she'll change soon b/c she doesn't seem like a bad person, just someone with hurt feelings and bad memories. I can't wait to tune in to the next episode, keep up the great work!
One thing I noticed is that Arei looked much more shaken than anyone else by the secret that she saw. She also seemed much more serious than usual afterward.
She definitely alludes to that given that she states that J's secret wasn't really that bad. Like she was sick that J acted the way she did over something she saw as grateful and not truly despairing.
Yup, the wait was totally worth it. I love the character dynamics in this ep. Eden and Levi spotlight in the first part, J being on the hotseat, Teruko accepting her life there and her protagonist status. Oh, and Eden saying the Naegi work together lines that will totally be wrecked soon. Somehow, I think Levi will be involved this chap, maybe the victim? I just feel that his reason for being disowned is the secret received by someone else. Also, Arei is visibly bothered by the motive. Maybe she's planning something? Lastly, I see potential in Charles being Teruko's support from now on. They seem to be on almost the same page right now, with Teruko just being more harsh. Very excited for the next ep! Thank you so much for this! ^^
IM HYPED AF FOR THIS!!! My biggest hope is that we get just a little bit of info for Xander because even if my boi is dead, I will theorize the hell out of him to figure out what his purpose was and how to tie everything he did together. Theory nation here I come!
Man, I can't wait to find out what will happen in this chapter! What everyone does after trial, the evolution of Teruko, and so on. But now that I think about it, I'm starting to worry about... Hu. I've analyzed Danganronpa games a few weeks ago and I came to the conclusion that in chapter 2, the one who usually dies is the one who the group either depends on or is the one who keeps the group's morale in check. Well, hopefully, whoever is the chapter's murderer and victim, it's not Charles. I hope that nothing bad will happen to my man. Ever. Or I'll haunt him and kill him again! But anyway, let's have a great despair time!
Considering the Fact if that Does happen… wouldn’t that mean Arei has a High probability of being a Victim? Hu and Arei have a Mahiru/Hiyoko type of relationship it seems where Hu seems to try keep Arei out of trouble… TRY
I have figured out my predictions for the 6 students I hope will be this fanganronpa’s survivors and I feel Charles has at least a chance of surviving or sacrificing his life like Sakura Ogami (may she rest in peace ❤😢)
I agree. Also, the first person to rebut in the first trial usually ends up being the next victim, weirdly. It may not happen, but I feel like Hu will kill Ace, seeing as he was the first to argue.
I LOVE THIS EPISODE SO MUCH! 10:00 - WOW THIS ANIMATION WAS SO CLEAN! And also it's so good to finally see everyone after so long! You can see that Teruko is still angry and furious and it scares me a bit that she wants to stay there forever. It was also surprising to find out that J is actually the daughter of an actress because never thought she was famous. AND OMG I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NEW FLOOR!
Chapter 1: Teruko: do you wanna explore together? Charles: I don't need a partner. Chapter 2: Charles:If you need a partner to explore then I- Teruko: No thanks.
Teruko is starting to become more and more interesting I kinda feel bad Charles did seem like He wanted to help her Oh well not that I can really blame her after what happened in chapter 1 with xander and min and everything.
Way late saying this, but I love Eden and Levi’s interaction at the beginning. It’s clear that Eden and Levi admire each other’s personalities, and want to be more like the other person. Eden, more brave and reliable, and Levi, more kind. I really hope we get another interaction like that between them ❤
WAHHH FINALLY IM SO EXCITED!! this was so worth it, i really hope J gets more screen time.. I CANT WAIT FOR THE TRIAL CUZ LAST TIME SO MUCH HAPPENED (Veronica don’t lose your marbles) Charles and Whit pls stay alive my bbs
I wonder who right now will be the main character, cause we had Eden at the start and than we had Teruko, later but with Teruko and how she is acting I wonder if it will be a change
I watched most of the videos on 1.25 speed and I thought this time, when I played it on normal speed for the premiere... I thought it felt shorter!! So I agree with u
This was wonderful! Thank you so much to everyone involved bringing this to life, all the voice actors’ hard work, the time dedicated to the small animatics and effects!! I adored this first part of Chapter two and am so so excited to see how the motive will play out, how the characters continue to interact, and if any theories I start come true! This was brilliant, paced well and I adored every part of it, looking forward to seeing what else will be revealed in time!
Oh my gosh this was so good. Such a great way to kick off the chapter. I'm so hyped to see what's in store for the rest. I love the development in all of the characters so much.
I just realized that the 'two people have to make breakfast' rule could potentially double as free time events. Like, this episode we had a Eden and Levi free time event, and each new day, (not episode since some episodes take place on the same day), we get an event with two new characters before Teruko wakes up and we follow her around again. It could be a good way for us to spend time with people when Teruko doesn't want to, which seems to be the case for the foreseeable future.
Teruko and Charles are not only my favorite characters but they been thou alot since the last trial , Am glad that charles is willing to partner up with teruko to invesigate the second floor with her , he looks like he worry about her even thou in chapter 1 he always been mean to her. Anyways Teruko is the most interesting main character i love her personality cuz shes announces shes THE main character of this story and shes not wrong shes has the talent and power to choose which character to live or die , What happens or whats not going to happen who knows even if herself doesnt know it . Either way can't wait for what comes next i the next episode .
Arturo being a simp was not on my chapter 2 bingo card but you know what? It adds an interesting element to his character and I want to see where it goes
...Teruko just jinxed herself. By saying she's the protagonist and all of the others are characters... this trend is gonna break. Eden took the role of protagonist, even if only a while... it's too soon to know if Teruko will gain her status again, or if other characters will gain that role. Because Teruko"s behavior is, understandably, more akin to a rival than a protagonist. I'm not saying she's going to die... but something tells me she'll have to get out of this place. Maybe because of a condition that makes her life too painful, like a tumor or a cancer. After all, she's been put into dangerous situations, but always managed to get out alive. But what if the pain was too much then? If she does as she said by the time the game ends, she wouldn't be able to count on anyone considering they would have left the place. Either suffering in loneliness, or being around people who tried to throw her under the bus... quite a tough decision to make. At any rate, it's good to see you guys back! Can't wait to see what this chapter has in store for us!
Great Episode! 👍 I wonder if the group will realize how much there actions during the first trial effected Teruko & if they'll own up to it, because all they see is Teruko has gone crazy, but they haven't considered how she felt during the trial. It is early so we shall see. I can't wait to see Teruko & Charles character developments.^^
agreed. at one point during the episode i was like “i think yall owe someone an apology” and when ace commented on how teruko had lost it i said out loud “HMM, i wonder why????” but honestly, even though teruko probably won’t forgive them, i hope they apologize to teruko for accusing her so much during the trial.
2:47 spoilers for ep 13 !! i just realised that the reason levi is the only one awake besides eden is because he literally doesn’t care about what happened the night before 😭😭
Just feel the need to throw out there that the title of this chapter is All That Glitters, with J on the cover. Now that we know about her mother, it could be a reference to the famous saying “all that glitters is not gold” which usually refers to not everything that looks precious/perfect being so
The beginning is definitely referring to Min...since Teruko still hates Xander and thinks he was an ass (I kinda agree too) I really wished there were more one on one moments of Teruko and Min before the murder of Xander
@@ghostlyyyyyy I never said that she doesn't...i just think she wasn't referring to him cus it WAS his fault... Personally I dont like Xander much but although he was still close to Teruko... he still tried to kill her in the end...so unless a proper reason comes out... Animosity will remain in Teruko's mind
@@gamingmysticist6641 I still believe it might not refer to either of them. Maybe a character that we've seen before? You know, a certain red headed girl?
@@ghostlyyyyyy In chapter 1 it was already stated she only vaguely remembers her... She has no idea what she did before her memories were erased that made the girl wanna kill her
@@gamingmysticist6641 Well, considering she has the girl's tablet (check that one animated cutscene where she picks up the knife and a tablet with a bunny), she might know more than we think
Moments of me screaming: "I didn't mean to upset you Julia!" BRO PLEASE JUST SHUT UP. UR NOT HELPING ANYTHING Me when Eden literally just trying to cheer her up and cheer up everyone: oh wow I have found my second kin of drdt THE END OF THE EPISODE: "No. No thanks." Slay Teruko, just slay girl like idc it's sad or rude or anything, it's Teruko. TERUKO IN THIS EPISODE IS SUCH A GIRLBOSS LIKE SLAY GIRLLL
Vote for Eden to be the new protagonist, she's just so wholesome (of course, I see a point of Teruko being the actual protagonist, she subverts expectations by being antagonistic to everyone and that's an interesting dynamic) Also I relate to Ace a lot. In a situation like this, I would also be scared shitless and paranoid. Don't bully Ace
I'm really happy to see this! I'll look forward to the next episodes. It's also nice that my favorite character hasn't shown any death flags yet. I didn't expect that twist with J, but it's nice to see Arturo showing more emotion. I wonder if he will try to kill someone "for her sake" or if he will try to pull and Komaeda on her to get her out of the killing game. I was kinda expecting J to survive, but this has decreased her chances. I thought Hu and Nico were going to be the early killers, but maybe they will kill in chapters 3 and 4 instead, with J and Arturo being involved in chapter 2 somehow. It also seems like Levi has empathy problems. I wonder if he will turn out to be the chapter 2 serial killer after all. Regardless of whether he actually killed or not, I think this will be important in this chapter. Also, judging from her reaction, I suspect Arei is the one who got his secret. It was interesting that Eden talked to the camera while being alone. That's something the mastermind would do. I struggle to see her like that, but it's worth keeping it in mind. Besides that, I think she might be chapter 4's victim and chapter 5's killer at the same time by using her talent to create an elaborate automated trap but dying before it is activated. It may happen at a different time, though. And Teruko's god complex is interesting. I wonder where it will go. I also wonder if she will stay the protagonist or if the story will change to a 3rd person perspective, which would be original too.
Omg it’s finally here! Can’t wait too watch this! Congrats on the team for working so hard to give this to us you guys really deserve it keep up the good work 🤩
Hmm... My thoughts on this episode: -Based on typical DR patterns, J fills the role of secret identity (like Toko, Imposter, and Maki). The typical pattern is that if they survive this chapter, they survive until the finale. -I previously predicted Eden as mastermind, but the opening monologue suggests otherwise... Unless she's outwardly monologuing on purpose for the audience... -Strongest death flags on Arturo and Levi, and maybe Arei -Rose's secret is harmless and she probably would not care about people knowing that. Rose is probably safe this chapter.
Ok, neat episode, if you go any further than this and read the spoilers, that's on you. So uh... don't cause it's spoilers. The episode starts out nice with Eden and Levi, giving both some screen time and exploring into their backgrounds. It does give a bit more understanding into both and something that you can enjoy from both of them just trying to be nice(even if Levi is doing it because of someone else.) MonoTV is becoming more and more fun to watch, this guy can't do anything right but somehow will still get the results he wants. Completely botching the motive has to be one of the funniest things I've seen from a fangan, and it doesn't fail to deliver as you watch him literally deflate in shame. I do like how the story is shifting less from Teruko's perspective and looking at everyone as a whole though. It's nice to see how the game goes without constant watch from the protagonist's view(her words) and it shows they aren't really the main center piece. With that being said, I do got one critique on the episode, and that's the lack of rootable characters that are in the story so far. I get Teruko is likely not gonna work with everyone, but you got a lot of people who seem to be rude for no reason or just unlikeable. I don't think it will last forever, like we just saw Levi and Eden were both looked at more deeply and had development(think one of them are going to die sadly from this), but it raises the problem of not feeling anything if they die. I do hope some people in the cast start to get fleshed out like the other two did or a little more likeable, because at this current moment it seems a lot of them are being rude just because it sounds like a good idea. Overall, really good start with some problems, will watch the next episode when ya post it. Good job.
I think it makes sense though for all of them to be rude or distant considering the circumstances. Give it time for them to develop. It's not like any of them are being rude for 0 reason minus Arei
@@everett1584 Sorry for the late response, I'm not good at checking this stuff. I do agree to an extent that developing characters from their initial state is something that's needed in a danganronpa. It's been seen with Fuyuhiko, Maki, and Togami to an extent. The massive problem I have right now though is that it's an alarming amount of the characters, along with some who also need screen time. I'm worried with this many characters lacking the development, we'll end up either not caring when they die or we end up with a Hiyoko situation where they bite the dust too early and robbed of said development. As for the rude and distant, I agree with it again to an extent. Teruko being against the cast is not a surprise, they were pretty hard on her in trial one for longer than they needed to be and a good portion of them aren't kind to begin with. She doesn't shut down Charles too hard when he offers to explore, just keeping it blunt and brief without throwing any personal blows at him, likely due to the fact he was quiet in trial one. There is a mixture of bad timing though or just plain rudeness in people's comments when it isn't deserved. For the plain rudeness, Eden's meal was one that struck me as they pretty much ignore the fact that if she did in fact poison the food, it's an instant game over for her. This seemed more like a forced conflict to drag Eden down in a scenario where it wasn't needed. Conflict shouldn't be taken out though, as J getting mad at Arturo was justified as he revealed her secret without giving much consideration.(Which also brings Arturo being a prick but in character). There is also just some unfortunate timing with a line or two, like when Teruko is saying she has no interest in continuing the game. While all valid points, the line at 25:01 diminishes in value when the episode spent the first 6 or 7 minutes with Levi and Eden, where Levi is talking about his less than pleasing situation but is still willing to help people get out. Your points are valid, but I think it's going too far and should be toned down a little. Having conflict is good, but having too much from to many people can generate issues and find it hard to root for a good portion of the cast.
@@stonebread1897 I just don't agree with you. I've read and watched literally hundreds of fangans and I can pretty confidently say that despite this cast being more jaded than normal, that is a good thing. Eden made the meal, and everyone was rude, but it wasn't unjustified in the slightest. Yeah, Eden would immediately lose, but no one wants to be the one to test that and die. Additionally, the current paranoia only makes sense. It has barely been a day, no one wants to be out of their rooms in the first place. Teruko and Levi are separate characters, their separate personalities help divide the idea that Teruko sees it all in a totally different way. The thing about fangans is that a lot of these characters will not get satisfying ends. It's how it goes. It doesn't make it bad writing to kill off a character in a killing game, it's just that you can't both have arcs every chapter for every character while also preserving the mystery to an extent.
@@everett1584 Seems we're both well versed in the fandom then. Massive problem with that is that Eden provides a very simple solution to the issue, offering to eat the food she made first. If they were really that scared, all logic indicates just have her cut a slice out of their food and eat it to prove her innocence. This doesn't play hard into emotions either, the conflict doesn't feel natural and feels like the characters willingly just dodged the solution when it's that simple. It does not seem like we're going to get anywhere with this, so I guess we'll just agree to disagree here. We'll both be here next episode regardless, probably enjoy it like we did this one, give our comments, and move on with our lives. Whether or not they take my critiques or not is up to them, it won't diminish the pros that the series has already generated.
i dont know if anybody talked about this in the comments but at 0:40, under that "all that glitters" text, there is a slightly shown text that says "a good person". not sure if that means something important though (i guess i might be a little late to notice that but whatever)
I love the series so far im excited for next week :3 I'm happy I got to watch it live too even though I seemed to have a slower connection than some other people.
I think the concept that is brought up in this episode is interesting. I do thing that the idea of a conclusion brought up is more probable now that it’s been shown as an option.
Honestly, it would be kind of interesting if they didn’t kill and then we got to see the secrets but that’s just a TV show watchers point of view, and wouldn’t necessarily make sense for them. Either way excited for the continuing episodes.
Out of consideration for others, please do not spoil the content of future episodes in the comments. Thank you for your cooperation.

Fr I was discussing this episode with my brother and he says it’d be interesting if Teruko DID die considering how confident she is in surviving. It’d be an interesting twist
@@everythingz888Teruko seems to be the equivalent of Akane/Sora from SDRA2/SDRA series, only more cocky
the first thing i thought of when i saw this comment was suicide im so sorry
i think i sense a possible friendship blossoming between charles and teruko. other than eden, he was the only person who didn’t accuse her of killing xander during the trial. teruko seems to be aware of this as well since her words weren’t as harsh towards charles compared to the rest of the class. with teruko distancing herself from the group and charles being humbled after the last chapter, it appears the tables have turned for these two. with this, i can see charles having a talk with teruko and maybe even being a step towards her character development. the same can be said for eden as well, and that also opens a possibility of eden, charles, and teruko forming a trio of some sort. yeah, that’s my prediction for this series, and i’m gonna be rooting for it.
I do have a feeling that Teruko and Charles might be related
What about Rose? I don't remember her accusing Teruko.

That's actually pretty nice!
@@frangolles Actually, always being positive is a form of coping mechanism in reaction to trauma. One could argue it's a form of extreme denial
that makes a lot of sense since the first scene basically was Eden and Levi talking about how they'll cope- Eden will distract herself and put on a brave face for the sake of the others and probably have a breakdown at some point, Levi is worried about grieving the "wrong" way so he'll probably go for what seems normal rather than what will actually help him (I doubt he necessarily knows himself, so I wonder if maybe he has alexithymia or something similar?)
@@bugbear2357 interesting take, with the newer episodes, spoilers below for that by the way, I'm pretty sure my theory has been even further pushed.

@@pixaphy your theory is making a lot of sense so far. spoilers for the rest of chapter 2 up until the second episode of the trial
•also we know Arei's meanness was a way for her to not feel helpless in the face of cruelty, to help her survive the shit her sisters and peers pulled
•Nico either submits to aggression or goes full murder (I'm wondering if they were possibly manipulated into it by the person with the manipulation secret, since it seems so wild for them to go 0 to 100 without anyone or anything else involved? they are kinda autistic coded and autistic ppl are either very prone to manipulation or impossible to manipulate in my experience as an autist with many autistic friends)
•Arturo I think is denial considering his reaction to Eden bringing up his sister was literally "that didn't happen and I refuse to acknowledge it or I will kill yoy"
•idk what David is doing but it's not working since he's already starting to crack
•Rose _has_ to remember anything awful she sees because of her memory and thus becomes avoidant, not wanting to have things stuck in her brain and the accompanying nightmares
•Veronika...well there's a pretty high chance she's the one with the sh secret and she's got a lot of issues
•I'm not sure about J, but she has internalised misogyny from being forced to dress girly as a kid so something to do with that? she did get mean at the trial with Arturo but he had basically been stalking her so idk
•Hu I'm really stuck on. it's possible she's the manipulator and her mom friend personality allows her to control people more easily, but even if not I think she reacts to conflict by trying to assert herself as an authority figure
Eden should get someone else to fetch whatever she’s trying to get because she’s so short

I really hope she doesn't get a redemption arc because I've been bullied and still am by people like her and I'd be so mad ong
@@aidanmillow566 I wonder if it's the secret she saw and not her own?
She definitely alludes to that given that she states that J's secret wasn't really that bad. Like she was sick that J acted the way she did over something she saw as grateful and not truly despairing.
WE'VE BEEN WAITIBG FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS NOW, FINALLY!!!!!!

It may not happen, but I feel like Hu will kill Ace, seeing as he was the first to argue.
i worried for Eden because of this considering she’s trying to keep the group positive all the time
This really only applies to DR2

I think the reason this episode felt "short" for some was because we were all so hype that we automatically skimmed over everything
It could be a good way for us to spend time with people when Teruko doesn't want to, which seems to be the case for the foreseeable future.
its kind of like charles and teruko switched personalitys 💀
Teruko and Charles are not only my favorite characters but they been thou alot since the last trial , Am glad that charles is willing to partner up with teruko to invesigate the second floor with her , he looks like he worry about her even thou in chapter 1 he always been mean to her. Anyways Teruko is the most interesting main character i love her personality cuz shes announces shes THE main character of this story and shes not wrong shes has the talent and power to choose which character to live or die , What happens or whats not going to happen who knows even if herself doesnt know it . Either way can't wait for what comes next i the next episode .
Damn Charles got zoned fast lmao
Arturo being a simp was not on my chapter 2 bingo card but you know what? It adds an interesting element to his character and I want to see where it goes
You can tell Teruko wants to trust Charles, but it’s difficult for her due to how things ended up with Xander and Min.
...Teruko just jinxed herself.
Maybe there won't be a protagonist and the story will switch to third person? It's not likely, but it's possible.

I don’t think Eden is the mastermind (and seriously hope not) but I also believe that all three characters will die
Vote for Eden to be the new protagonist, she's just so wholesome
(of course, I see a point of Teruko being the actual protagonist, she subverts expectations by being antagonistic to everyone and that's an interesting dynamic)
Also I relate to Ace a lot. In a situation like this, I would also be scared shitless and paranoid. Don't bully Ace
Glad this showed up in my youtube feed. I missed this.
Worth the wait. :) Welcome back. 💕
Wow this chapter's opening is much cooler with new context
One of my fave fangans!! Can’t wait to see the rest of the chapter 💛

Hmm... My thoughts on this episode:
-Based on typical DR patterns, J fills the role of secret identity (like Toko, Imposter, and Maki). The typical pattern is that if they survive this chapter, they survive until the finale.
-I previously predicted Eden as mastermind, but the opening monologue suggests otherwise... Unless she's outwardly monologuing on purpose for the audience...
-Strongest death flags on Arturo and Levi, and maybe Arei
-Rose's secret is harmless and she probably would not care about people knowing that. Rose is probably safe this chapter.
"Theaters are too flammable" i think that's a reference to Final Destination 4 (i think that's the one where the theater explodes i dont remember)

Whether or not they take my critiques or not is up to them, it won't diminish the pros that the series has already generated.
my winter break is about to end and this is just the right thing to make myself happier before returning to school
I'm so excited and the picture already is so cute 😍🥰
I'm so excited for this, you guys have been working so hard!
i dont know if anybody talked about this in the comments but at 0:40, under that "all that glitters" text, there is a slightly shown text that says "a good person". not sure if that means something important though (i guess i might be a little late to notice that but whatever)
eden is such a sweetheart omg i will be so sad if she dies😭
Charles's redemption arc!!!!!!
I’m so scared for Eden. Girl’s waving so many deathflags rn. Also poor Levi, J, and Teruko,. . .
I love the series so far im excited for next week :3 I'm happy I got to watch it live too even though I seemed to have a slower connection than some other people.
TERUKO BECOMING BOTH PROTAGONIST AND ANTAGONIST IS PURE AMAZING 😍🤩
LET'S GO!! I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS
I think the concept that is brought up in this episode is interesting. I do thing that the idea of a conclusion brought up is more probable now that it’s been shown as an option.
18:53 guys he said among us
Amogus counter: 2
Edit: ALSO CHARLES BEING NICE FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THE END MAN WHAT THE FUCK IM CRYYYIIING
eeeeeep im so excited!! I know that it's definitely gonna be worth the wait, the trailer was awesome!!
Honestly, it would be kind of interesting if they didn’t kill and then we got to see the secrets but that’s just a TV show watchers point of view, and wouldn’t necessarily make sense for them. Either way excited for the continuing episodes.
