If I remember correctly, his brother Kelly lived there.. or was it Spain?.. .but yeah, hard to believe TL is only at one place at a time... everywhere and "knowear"...wink..
@@gypsytalespodcast9369 Considering using my bonus and get a custom painted D4. I had a bad tbi like Davi Millsaps so don't ride dirt bikes anymore. Getting back to mountain bikes is been enough to scratch the itch. Troy Lee is the only one that has their helmets tested by Virginia Tech. They test near or at the top.
My dad grew up racing for Troy before he was even his own thing. Troy owned a Honda shop and raised the blose boys while my dad and blose father races pros. Super super cool to have him on!
Anyone else hear a high pitched whine following each word? Heard it a bit and can't stop hearing it now Edit: Not nearly as bad at lower volumes but it does make it pretty hard to listen to if you need it loud
Have always been a Troy Lee fan since the mid 80s it was cool to hear about all the different adventures in all forms of sports sounds like he's still having fun in life
Dude when I saw Troy Lee come up on my Gypsy Tales lineup I said Hell Yes !!! I’ve heard he’s an awesome human being and after your interview I can’t agree more. Where’s the F_ _ _ing brick wall ? I’m going through !!! He’s truly a non eccentric artist who’s vision at first goes way beyond the canvas exploring the possibilities, then opens his sketchbook to bring ideas to life.! What impresses me most is his love & concern for the health and happiness of each & every customer. He was so forthright w/answers to ALL of your questions added unbelievable content to your channel. Enjoyed your 300th like no other ❤
As a kid who grew up racing supermoto, Troy was an absolute idol for me. Watching #2laps2go, racing as a Jr at duel at the docks, wearing TLD body armor my entire career. It's incredible to see him still have so much drive for more after so many years of pushing the limits.
congrats on 300 episodes Jace, i may have not watched every single one, but i’m glad i found the channel, and recently i’ve been listening to older episodes on apple podcasts
been a fan since i was in middle school. remember being super stoked to rock a troy lee ball cap and to have a chrome visor on my helmet. he's a legend and super stoked to see him and mitch be to intregal to the moto community 30 years later. Congrats Jase 300 episodes and you didn't even have to go to all the races to provide amazing content. lol.
My first Motocross Helmet is a Bell Troy Lee Designs with the monster logo sponsor!! I love it!! So Cool!!! Thanks Troy and Gypsy for building the Community !!!! Legends!!!
Met troy at the track one day totally cool invited me and my buddy back to his shop seemed like he wanted to hang out and visit with us to me whos just a guy riding a dirt bike i thought that was awesome
The Portuguese racetrack Troy mentioned is ESTORIL... and I don't think it's doing as bad as he says. Portimao has taken a lot of business from it but Estoril is not too far from Lisbon so I'm sure they could probably live off trackdays.
19:14 I think weather plays a huge role in it. I live out East and riding can be absolute hell for almost half the year. The waves are great out there, the entire area is built like a primo skatepark, tons freeriding spots, great tracks and the weather allows you do that stuff year round plus it has a pretty high population which by proxy = more ppl doing those things.
Super dope pod, love hearing stories from the triple OG’s in the sport. Congrats on 300 episodes dude but I think it’s time for new equipment😅 there’s a small mosquito sound hovering over your conversation, might wanna get a new mixer, or mics 🤑 cheers though mate 🍻
ive been wearing troy lee gear since 2000 when Demarini suzuki team ran that gear and steve lamsons privateer honda that summer i had a honda 125 and a suzuki 250 so i had 3 different color ways it was red white n blue and red/yellow and blue/yellow that was some trick looking gear back then with my dragon goggles and and shoei hot wheels lid
I believe they were around 2004 to 2006. I've always been a big fan of Troy Lee. I still have my first Troy helmet, it is the Doug Henry carb. Black and orange.
Speaking of so many races for our guys, do you think the schedule makes it harder than ever for guys to improve? Essentially you have 3 months off the bike to do all your improvements in the offseason. It's hard to get better during the race season because your limited by how much you can practice. In the past there was breaks between the races so you'd find a 2 or 3 week gap all the time to practice and get better. Now it feels like there riding during the season to keep fresh and not get rusty. Idk maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm overexaggerating but how are guys supposed to make big improvements when the offseason is so short.
Great finale', what aguy Troy Lee is, super cool and i appreciate that he's open minded and loves the new tech too, eMTB, e MX bikes etc. Your finest hour too Jase, podcasts have gone from strength to strength, you've really grown into the role. What a fitting end to a great series. Best of luck for the future
Two people that have had a significant impact on the sport in different ways. Thank you guys for taking the time to do this. Absolutely Epic!
Well said👍
300 episodes! Congrats Jace, stoked to have you in the Moto media.
Thanks for the kind words
Nothing is cooler than a TLD-painted lid and a PC-piped and tuned dirt bike if you're an old guy.
Hell yeah! Us old guys know what’s cool and it’s not Justin Bieber hair or crocs!
Incredible... I Live in Portugal and this legend has a holliday house here ! very nice... I love this country
If I remember correctly, his brother Kelly lived there.. or was it Spain?.. .but yeah, hard to believe TL is only at one place at a time... everywhere and "knowear"...wink..
So cool to see Troy’s perspective on things, iconic dude
Troy has the greatest laugh 😂
Epic choice for 300. Troy Lee is legend. I would love to get one painted by him.
Honestly same. I might have to jump in the cue after this ep ha.

I think I have listened to all 300, Troy is by far the most interesting listen!
Anyone else hear a high pitched whine following each word? Heard it a bit and can't stop hearing it now
Edit: Not nearly as bad at lower volumes but it does make it pretty hard to listen to if you need it loud
So annoying lol
Nope

Mr. Shawn Palmer needs to be on Gypsy Tales ASAP!
I can hardly make it through a 3 hour movie but this flew by and I’ve always been a fan of Troy Lee and his work ethic. Great interview!
this is such a sick podcast, so informative and such a great conversation that dives into the world of the motocross industry.

Met troy at the track one day totally cool invited me and my buddy back to his shop seemed like he wanted to hang out and visit with us to me whos just a guy riding a dirt bike i thought that was awesome
So awesome!!!! My favorite artist and brand ever. Have a tattoo to prove it!!!
Which tattoo is it?
I've got the Scott Russell screaming chief
The Portuguese racetrack Troy mentioned is ESTORIL... and I don't think it's doing as bad as he says. Portimao has taken a lot of business from it but Estoril is not too far from Lisbon so I'm sure they could probably live off trackdays.
I have only worn Troy's Scott Russell helmets for 30 years
Epic!!! Troy has always seemed like a true enthusiast first!

Very nice interview !
Troy should buy that hotel nxt to that track! what an investment😊

ive been wearing troy lee gear since 2000 when Demarini suzuki team ran that gear and steve lamsons privateer honda that summer i had a honda 125 and a suzuki 250 so i had 3 different color ways it was red white n blue and red/yellow and blue/yellow that was some trick looking gear back then with my dragon goggles and and shoei hot wheels lid
What a legend
Who remembers the TLD range rovers?
I believe they were around 2004 to 2006. I've always been a big fan of Troy Lee. I still have my first Troy helmet, it is the Doug Henry carb. Black and orange.
When Troy Lee stops dreaming the world will be a much darker place.
I'm sure Tommy Searle brother his named after this ledge because he loved the Troy lee designs peaks .
What Laguna motorcycle trails does he ride? Where are they talking about?
1:41:34 that aged like fine wine lol
Maybe if peacock wants more races, AMA could introduce 2 stroke only races with different racers.
Do you think Troy took a rip off the peace pipe with Jace before the show..? 😶🌫️🤔

Such an interesting dude!
Troy lee designs gear is awesome..i only buy tld haha
Jace you have a typo in the title, *in “paint”
"I like money" "Frito" circa 2505.
So the race team is not profitable? That’s crazy to hear considering it is a “factory” team. Can’t help but think how volatile the sponsor money is.
Is there a mosquito in the studio? 😂
It’s crazy you only have 40k subs
We started this channel late. Our first channel has 150k. TH-cam is a slow game these days.
OMG my mom and his mom dont think we shoulx hang out!! classic Mitch/Troy. Me and mitch are 9/24 i am 1972 and hes 1902 haaa!!! 😊
I would like to see Torsten Hallman
Weird squeaking noise 3/4 through the pod
I feel like troy has some ADD, I can relate
Still promoting that AG1 snake oil? big ooof
Have you ever tried it?
Chester Bennington DID NOT take his own life
Legend and legend in the rough. Thank you jace.

Can the helmet instruction manual be replaced by a QR code link to the online manual ?
