I don't know how many times I saw Adge perform this, including at a recording session at the Royal Oak. I never heard the milkmaids version, it should have been though!!

Huge soft spot for Adge and the original Wurzles, plus Coates Cider Works in Nailsea, which should never have been shut down by Shoerings and moved to Shepton Mallet. In 1969, a pint of Superb Coates Scrumpy, was 8d (abit over 3p in Fake money)in the Friendship Inn served by Auntie Beattie the Unforgettable Landlady. I'll never forget old Farmer Brock in the Old Oak Pub being asked what he thought about the new decimalised Funny Money, and he replied -"Wellmit might catch on in the Towns, but I don't see it catching on out here" Sadly he was Wrong, the Fake Money caught on everywhere. RIP Farmer Brock, I'll never forget you driving around in your Blue Ford Escort, Always and Only Ever in First Gear. Nailsea was still Full of Great Characters like him and Dear old Adge back Then. Dear God, what have they Done to the place in the years since. 😳

Crikey, still bitter about decimalisation in 2022.

@ If you had seen the level of the resulting Maths incompetence in University age Students that I saw when I went back to Higher Education as a Mature Student, then frankly you would be more than’bitter’ yourself, the young brains aren’t nearly getting the vital exercise that they need. There were three of us of my generation on the Course, and we wiped the floor with them in the ten one hour Maths exams from Basic maths through to Scientific Maths at the start of Java Programming - side note, Java is an absolutely Crap programming Language - Out of Education for literally Decades, the three of us scored 999 out of a possible 1,000.That none of them even came close, just shouldn’t have been possible frankly, and is an alarming indication of just how badly let down all youngsters have been, in a so called “Education” System. To me, it amounts to Nothing Less than Child Abuse. When you look around the people in Our Parliament, Regional Assemblies, and Local Government, plus Civil Service etc, you can see the end Result of what is nothing less than the end Result of what has clearly been the Deliberate Dumbing Down of Western Societies. The Film Idiocracy, wasn’t supposed to be a bloody Documentary was it. If you are only Bitter, then you simply haven’t been Paying Attention. 😡

Showerings, but, yes, I don't disagree. Showerings buggered up Shepton anyway...

When D said his song was just a tribute to the best song in the world. He meant this song.

Adage Cutler was a friend of my Fathers after serving in the army together, the wurzels were getting well established when Adge was killed in a car crash in 1974.

@@incargeek Actually the first Ferguson Valve Colour TV’s like the 700 model, when properly set up, were Stunning.tbh, my current Samsung 9000 series TV, only now is that good.Must admit, I wasn’t actually that impressed by the colours in Film, and I stuck with extreme flexibility Agfa black and white for excellent textures with photos from my SLR. A3 framed enlargements of Rock textures and waves, plus tree Bark came out really well. Best Wishes. Bob. 👍

@@Donkeybone10 That hers Cider is Really Good. I went to School With George, I suppose he is retired Now, and Hope he is keeping Well. The Family used to Own a Brewery - I think called Georges? - Which was bought out by the Courage Brewery in Bristol - and if Courage Bitter and Best Bitter were kept properly, and the pipes in the Pub were Cleaned Properly - rarer than Hens Teeth in the Bristol area- they were really Good Beers. I passed my Barman Exam with the Courage Brewery, and I Really miss their Courage Velvet Stout, which was only Surpassed apparently by Courage Imperial Stout. Both much better then Guinness I was told. Surprisingly, the very Best Guinness that I ever had, was in the Irish Bar in Fuengirola below Malaga in Spain. Worth Docking the boat in the Marina there, as only a short stagger back from the Bar. 👍

I love the Wurzels, but looking back at this film from 2023 makes you realise that cameos by men in brown draylon suites weren't great. Was anything from the 70s not warped? Asking for Gary and Jimmy.
