    Thanks to this video i was able to easily replace the plugs and coils in my Niro by myself. 300 in parts vs 600 for the dealer to do it for me. It only took me a half hour.

      Now you have extra 300 dollars to spend on something else. Lol.. glad it helped.

      @@WrenchingRyanHey there, actually have another question. For reference I have a 2019 Niro eco ex, changing the plugs and ignition coils at 93,000 after the dealer replaced the #3 cylinder plug and coil at 87,000 when my car misfired and went into limp mode. When I changed the plugs I noticed that what i call the #1 plug [closest to the passenger side of the car] had some oil on it. Not a puddle, but noticeable. The others were dry. Do yoy know what this indicates, and in your opinion would it maybe fall under the 100,000 mile warranty? Thanks for your time!

    Thank you so much for this video! It was so easy to change the spark plugs thanks to your video. And the rubber hose hack was awesome!! ❤

    Nicely done.
    There is a check engine light on my car. The OBD2 reading gives a code of 0303.
    So I need to replace the 3rd ignition coil. Is the 3rd one going from left to right?

      Also, does the 12 volt battery cable need be disconnected for Ignition Coil replacement?

      @@e.fooyoung7451 @2:57 that’s the ignition coil #3, yes disconnect the negative battery cable. Thanks for watching.

    nice job. one question please: do you know if the manufacturer specifies any gap that these spark plugs should have before they should be installed? thank you!

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      OEM Plugs are pre gapped but always a good practice to check them. The manufacturer specification are 0.7~0.8 mm or 0.0276~0.0314 in. Thanks for watching.

    I did it! Thanks to this video. You saved me well over $150. I did have one question, will the car notify me via a light if one of the new spark plugs happens to not be firing? Unfortunately I did this about a week before. Temperatures got drastically cold so my drop and fuel mileage is probably related to that. I don't notice any difference in engine sound but was just curious.

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      when engine is misfiring PCM will notify you by turning the check engine light and set a code. if no light and no difference on engine performance you should be good.

    Thanks for the video. You mentioned the car had 58K miles… from what I could see the plugs looked to be in (relatively) good condition; no buildup, bad burn, damage signs. Was there any damage to the insulator or gap? Also, being a Kia part, do you happen to know their part number?
    I just had mine replaced (2019 Niro/ not even 8500km on it) and they were BLACK with buildup and, what appeared to be, misfire marks.

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Those spark plugs are almost due per 60k miles service interval, customers don’t want to wait until 60k. and decided to replace them during the visit. Spark plugs part# K18868 08095.

    • @TwylaG-Artistry

      Thanks.
      It turned out two injectors had been leaking (lots!) of fuel as the oil test read 15.73% contamination! Kind of explains why the plugs were black, and the engine was misfiring… not that any red flags went up with “service”. 🙄

    I also want to change the pcv valve. I wish you would make a video for that too! Or at least tell me where it is? 😃

    • @WrenchingRyan

      @3:42 of this video on lower right side corner you will see a hose and a clamp that is your PCV VALVE, they are easy to replace.

      @@WrenchingRyan thanks. I think I may have located it. I previously owned a Kia Soul which recommended changing the pcv valve early in its engine life. But not sure the Kia Niro requires replacing the pcv at all. Do you recommend replacing it at any particular mileage?
