My favorite James Bond movies are The Living Daylights , Moonraker ,For Your Eyes Only , Thunderball , You Only Live Twice , A View To A Kill , The Man With The Golden Gun and On Her Majesty's Secret Sevice so i can watch my parents ..😄😄😄
I used to own the Ultimate Edition DVDs, but I've been looking to replace them. I've been thinking about picking up these older Special Editions sets. However I have a question. Do these DVDs come with the original (in the case of the Connery Lazenby and probably some Moore films mono) audio tracks? I know that the Ultimate Editions swapped them all out for new 5.1 mixes that imo are bad. The blu-rays come with both audio tracks (the 5.1 and the originals) but do these DVDs? I've been told that these DVDs feature the original unrestored films before they were visually "enhanced" to look more modern. I prefer the film grain and true special effects, flaws and all, of older movies - and I'd like to get as close to the original theatrical versions as possible. I've seen screenshots and these DVDs look amazing! But, is it the original audio? I've left similar comments on others' videos reviewing this series, but haven't gotten a response. I was wondering if you knew or could check? Thanks a million. :)
BTW, here's a comparison of the Ultimate Edition version of a scene from the Lazenby film VS the Special Edition version. th-cam.com/video/9fkDGlngvw4/w-d-xo.html
Ok I did a bit of research. The George Lazenby film and all the Sean Connery films use the mono audio track. Only one Roger Moore movie uses the mono track. These DVDs are not enhanced to look more modern, you can definitely see the grain on these DVDs still. These three sets are very nice. Thanks for watching, hope this helps.
@@MoviesCool93 Thanks very much! :) I used to own the Ultimate Edition DVDs, but wasn't too satisfied with them. The Blu-ray's have stunning quality, but are still plagued with a few issues - and the box art is non-existent and lazy. I think I'm going to get the Special Editions. Thanks!
I remember getting volume 1 mid 2003 and the other 2 around Christmas 2003 as well, which included Die Another Day.
I own these and, if you ask me, they're the best package in terms of art and menus of all the collections available.
Your videos are great keep it up
Nice sets and collection.

Special Edition DVDs came out in the late 90s.
I think the ultimate editions are the best
