The mere fact that this Mod has Pegasus Boots and they work way better than I would've imagined them working in a 3D Zelda definitely gets it to a 10/10 for me.
Really makes me miss traditional items in Zelda that aren't abilities. You would think that an open world Zelda game would have traditional items to experiment with but I guess the devs forgot what makes those old weapons fun instead of having all your items break constantly.
I’m not a big fan of items/abilities being strictly tied to cooldowns. Waiting 10 real minutes to use it again in a game filled with tedium isn’t that great for me. GoW did this too which I wish they kept mana or some other type of resource besides waste my time.
@@doclouis4236TOTK has a ton of items like that though, they just don't take the form of a one off piece of equipment that you equip like in the old games. The amount of different stuff you can do with item fusion is insane.

One thing I saw pointed out elsewhere and really like about the Zelda series is that its monsters, no matter how standard their concept, have in-universe names that feel intuitive instead of forced or like they were made as a pun on English or Japanese terms strictly. You get some of the sounds of the word skeleton in Stalfos, but the term Stalfos signifies a clear distinction between the hostile, magically animated bone warrior and just any old skeleton. Ghosts are called Poe, Moe, or Ghini depending on how they manifest. Moblin and Bokoblin sound as natural as goblin and are probably derived from it, but have distinctions you can get used to. Hostile bat monsters are either Keese or Ache. Slime blob monsters aren't just called slime, but Zol, Gel, Bit, Bot, and Chuchu. Like-Like is based on an ancient _in-universe_ wordplay or figure of speech, which has had its actual meaning lost due to linguistic drift since the monster's discovery; a joke about politics or something.
Moblin is indeed derived from Goblin! In Japan theyre Moriblin, Mori meaning Forest, thus Forest Goblin. I believe Bokoblin is a contraction of "Idiot Goblin" (boke + goblin). I love when they do stuff like this lol.
@@TheMexicanLynx Wolfos and Lizalfos are two of the less natural sounding names of standard monsters in English, but without looking it up I would hazard a guess that the English words for wolf and lizard or Japanese approximations thereof are used in their Japanese names, so a very direct English localization doesn't sound sufficiently exotic the way the likes of Goriya and Daira do for an earlier wolf monster and lizardman warrior respectively. Anubis is probably the worst monster name in Ocarina of Time, though. Strains worldbuilding a little for it not to differ at least a little for the mummy jackal thing.
@@RoninCatholic Wolfos and Lizalfos, for what it's worth, are the same in Japanese. Then there's the two pirate robot minibosses, whose names in Japanese and Spanish are Don Gera and Don Killer. And then there's Demise who's nameless both in Japanese and Spanish, only refered to as The Harbinger of Death.

This hack genuinely feels like a zelda game nintendo would've put out if the n64 era lasted longer but better. Genuinely wish I had my own son now so I could lie to him and tell him nintendo made this after MM.

Seeing Link swing around that anchor and bust up them rocks is cool and all but it should have been a chain chomp, that would be way cooler to have as a weapon/pet in an Oot rom hack hopefully someone does it
