Hey North Star... Nearing the endpoint of a thru hike, as you are now, always seems to involve a unique challenge all its own, because it's hard to know how fast or slow to walk as you approach the end of such a massive journey. Do you run into the embrace of the finish or move deliberately in each step, quieting your pace, taking time to look back once more at the narrow tail that just accompanied you 491 miles? And how do you hold yourself at the end when the massive weight of what you've just done puts two firm hands on your shoulders and whispers, "You can be done now... You can rest your weary legs."
You have been bless Audrey. When I did my hikes in 2018 and 2022, there was hardly any water from Silverton to Durango. Enjoy your trek and have some pizza when you get into town. Congratulations.

Hey girl i c an hear ur excitement !! Feel ur strength grow as u feel the finish line a coming !!! 👍🏽 But I tell you it's those kind of views that make me want to walk on forever !!! With no need to get off and resupply and break that magical rhythm. Where I am looking far beyond and yet right in front of me and all around. To keep unraveling the string. My heart and my soul feel so free !!!! Has any one of you ever wished that the resupply would come to you ???? 😀,, So the magic wouldn't get broken. But I must admit there have been times when getting off and going into town was part of the magic too. Some places just lend themselves to the magic 😊. Days like when it was raining on you Audrey and you were feeling a little bit low but then at the end there's a beautiful rainbow 🌈 !!!❤❤. For me that is magic !!! All of it !!. It teaches me humility, bedroom lights me of how small I am in the big picture !!! Then comes the gratitude !! The thankfulness of being able to share a moment in time with everything around me even the raindrops.!!!!! THAT is being alive !!!! And if itis Gods will I'll soon be out there again. Much older but the spirit in me is just as young as ever and gratitude for the living pages wil be greater than ever ❤. Thanks SOO much Audrey for the remembrance and the stiring of the heart !!!! Do U understand what you do for so many of US ??? I am greatful to u. I know you r happy with thoughts of home yet i grow sadder.... But im happy 4 U. You've done it again !!!! I can't help but be curious how long it'll be before the draw is too strong again. ??? And your soul feels the need to be a part of the living pages. To create those pages in ur own manor. I believe man has known deep inside That We needed 2 save.. set aside space for the soul to come 2 !!
