algae, like all micro organisms, has a high rate of adaptability. So long as there arent sudden temperature shifts and the water doesnt become too warm (unlikely unless you live in a region with particularly harsh sun like australia) Ive had algae thrive in tupperware as deep as 3 inches in direct full sunlight in 90f weather for weeks, generally speaking if you can get algae to grow in the first place, its probably already well adapted for the region you are in so simply providing water with nutrients in it (tank water, or water with fertilizer) will be more than enough to get thriving algae, or if you have a pond, simply talking pond water, as that will accelerate the process with the nitrates and microbe community Long story short, it will heat up, but it shouldnt kill the algae, infact it might even help the algae depending on what species you have
