Its April '90, and SDFP45 has the new SuperFleet paint applied and was temporarily given #106. It would soon lose this number to make way for the 100-class GP60Ms coming soon. At 1:25 just listen to those SD's coming up Tehachapi Loop, just perfect EMD second generation power, pure adrenalins railroading at its finest.

I was there at Walong on July 23rd of that year for about an hour or so (one of only 3 times I went there as a kid) and I saw my first GP60M that day. It was also my first red and silver Warbonnet unit. A friendly SP engineer on an uphill train also threw out an SP Western Region Timetable 3 to me. A prized possession for a 16 year old that was just nuts about the Espee! Nearly 25 years later it is still in nearly perfect condition in spite of being flipped through hundreds of times and many miles of train watching trips since then. That engineer of the "Friendly" probably never thought another thing about it after that day, but it sure meant the world to me at the time, and I'll never forget it.

Was there any other ATSF equipment that was repainted (Not built) in Superfleet paint?
