I think adding Arizona and ASU also strengthens the Big 12's ability to recruit in southern California, as they will be the second closest power conference to SoCal going forward and the former PAC teams in the B1G won't have space for all the first-tier recruits from the region.

San Diego State seemed to have a invite in hand this year but the PAC never formally invited them. I figured that's the reason San Diego State wanted a extension of them leaving.
Would be interested to hear which conference you believe is a good fit for the remaining 4 schools in the PAC. Besides the ACC, it's either them joining the MWC or AAC. There's also a possibility for the PAC-4 to poach either the MWC or AAC schools, but I don't see why the PAC has any leverage over those to leagues.
Adding MW members is gonna be extra expensive now given how long the Pac-12 took to get its act together and got San Diego State in some mess with the MW in the process.
Football wise you could make a diet Pac 12 with the MWC. They have the pieces to remain a Power 5. What's interesting is with no Pac 12 would the MWC get Pac 12s AQ for adding just OSU/WSU? As time passes you get the sense Stanford and Cal don't want a MWC merger and only want the MWC's best schools.
The Big 12 may have lost Oklahoma and Texas, but it sure got into some larger DMAs. I'm very interested in seeing how Colorado, Arizona and Arizona State adjust to having less access to Californian recruits.
I don't think they will lose as many as you think. There is no Pac12 to monopolize those student athletes. So, where will they all go? Sure USC, UCLA, Wash. and Ore...will get their share but, past that...the Big12(utah, asu, az and colo) schools will become more appealing. My two cents.
Only if Cal/Stanford stay. IMO, the allure of Cal/Stanford is enough to sway administrators at SDSU/SMU/Rice/Tulane. But without that affiliation with Cal/Stanford, no one's paying that exit fee money.
@@d1_360that’s the reason why I think if ACC doesn’t create an entire Western Wing with all 4 schools from PAC plus SMU and one other, which is nuts, then the AAC has been told by 3 networks, and possibly one more; that the right schools added to the 4-PAC would get them what AAC wants. And included are in 2025 MWC schools, as exit fee would then drop to $17 million if announced later this year or before June 30 2024 to join, could get the 16-20 schools about $20 million. But the GoR has to be 6-8 years and ironclad exit fees or early exit fees and only negotiate timeframe to pay off. But the end result would be the AAC regaining autonomy status of sorts. But 4 schools would be left out definitely, and 8-6 MWC schools would be left out. Assuming that they would want all 3 service academies as full membership so can count their academics and ratings towards the conference profile, the new PAAC or AAC or APAC or whatever would look like this; and remember all 3 service academies have to be together. With that said, a video showing data for why FSU thinks they need and deserve similar money to the SEC and B1G will get you at least 5,000 views. Same applies to Clemson. Seems like a lot of college football fanbases do not have an easy place to find this data and analysis. Leaving aside my FSU support, I am losing my mind trying to show people data that at least provides FSU's perspective, even if they do not agree. Just seems like people are valuing their emotional response due to lack of numbers like what you objectively provide. I would love to watch a video looking at data that both supports and counters the ACC teams that want to remain a presence in major college football.
You keep saying Texas. You leave out Florida, which is now in your footprint. The percentage of high end recruits in Florida is number one in this country. Heck Ohio has a good percentage too. You lose Cali, but get more than enough in return.

Not even a few years ago we thought PAC 12 would raid the Big 12
And they probably could have snagged a few people. But they were so slow and incompetent. Now it's a done conference.

As Ŧech grad that was sad part of my school’s history to learn about…glad that ASU stood up up for its minority athletes.

Phoenix is 250 miles from LA. They'll have access. Not as much as before, but they will.

Seems like a lot of college football fanbases do not have an easy place to find this data and analysis. Leaving aside my FSU support, I am losing my mind trying to show people data that at least provides FSU's perspective, even if they do not agree.
