I discovered Neos right when the dispute and dev freeze started. I am glad the dev team was able to split this out to build a new platform because I like in sim building and this platform is the only one that can do things like this.
Absolutely loved this! However, I have to be brutally honest about Resonite's community dynamics. Despite investing over 1K hours into NEOS, my efforts as a human player felt utterly invalidated. It's disheartening to witness such a lack of inclusivity in what should be a welcoming metaverse community. Even after creating numerous public worlds and assisting countless furry and human players in adapting to the platform, the hostility towards human characters persisted relentlessly. What's more disheartening is the fact that when I reached out to community moderators for support, my concerns were consistently disregarded. This dismissive attitude only serves to perpetuate the toxic environment. It's truly disappointing to see Resonite mirror the same issues as NEOS, perpetuating exclusion and prejudice rather than fostering a sense of unity and acceptance.
only way that Resonite could overtake VR chat is if it was more accessible. And allowing creators to put limitations on players just by the world. Like you can have full access to your home world but most public worlds should be closed off from that unless I guess you make the instance or something like that. Because Resonite currently has three major issues; 1. everything is confusing and strange, the whole process *needs* to be made simpler for people to just get in and play the game. 2. optimization, this game just isnt optimized well, its laggy for just about anyone without a top of the line PC, and 3. user generated content. You'd think that this game would have a lot of it, but when everyone has what is essentially mod privileges it gets hard to actually make any kind of minigames or whathaveyou. This means no minigames, which makes it harder to find things to do. You can only talk and share meme creations for so long. Oh also I just dont like block coding, this game NEEDS a traditional text based coding language, even if a custom one. I know its possible to translate block coding back and forth, so that is one thing i'd love to see them add.
It's way more advanced but i don't see it "destroying" vrchat with how complicated it is currently. Especially non-friendly to people with little to no knowledge of VR, the simplicity will drive the bigger casual audience to VRChat, because most standard users are not looking to create and script in-game with all the advanced tools they have.
Even in the long run, i can't see Resonite putting a major dent in VRc's established player base, unless VR chat inc. screws up BIG time. Currently it hoovers around the a similar average player of ~200, as count Neos did before. which is < 1/100th that of VRc, and miles from reaching any critical mass. folks just switched over. A lot of people use VRs rather casually, often to unwind and socialise after a long days work, and aren't keen on the idea of switching platforms from what they know, and where all their friends and familiar worlds are. Let along having to warm up to a platform that's a lot more complex and unwieldy. They just wanna hop an and hang out. Even when VRc implemented easy anti cheat, and there was a LOT of drama about it, folks briefly tried some other platforms, but soon returned to VRc.
@@Ucceah I can see all the casual players staying in VRChat while all developers and creatives would turn to Resonite. It'll cause a brain-drain effect and leave VRChat still popular but only in the same way Twitter is currently - ppl begrudgingly staying on the platform while constantly seeking alternatives, with the platform becoming increasingly annoying and unusable.
@@VulpineCortexyou say that yet i still see alot of brainiacs on vrchat, resonite is cool dont get me wrong, but it will forever be in vrchats BIG shadow 😂
Are there adult worlds to protect adults from children and vice versa? The biggest problem with VRChat aside from lack of inventory items people can share with each other and take to new worlds, is the child-predation problem and that fact I don't want to have to associate with children when wearing an adult avatar and looking for new adult friends.
At this moment, Resonite is completly self-moderated. Also, all NSFW and ERP avatars should be in invite-only (private) worlds - this is a strict rule.
@@CyberfroggTheProot Damn. So no way to meet new friends while using an adult avatar. gotcha. Unrelated, I recently played Resonite for the first time; I was unable to find a single avatar already in the worlds to try on, and when I went into a zombie game world; it was just me, and every time I moved all the buildings and world stuttered and shook worse than anything I've ever seen in a 1980's 3d game. and there was motion sickness kind of mixed in though I don't suffer it. Forget the fact I could never figure out how to load my gun, that was straight up unacceptable. Oh and I was unable to use my Inventory in Resonite because you have to format your inventory first before you can use it or something super weird like that? like what the hell? Some guys tried to help me get an avatar but because we couldn't figure out how to format my resonite inventory, they gave up on me and kicked me from their world. so I couldn't put anything in my inventory let alone an avatar. Resonite is going to fail fast and hard if it's this user-Unfriendly. I really hope someone is going to fix those issues.
@@AnotherCoyotethere's plenty of NSFW communities out there tbh, and from my experience they have plenty of activity and worlds to explore. There's even some isolated work being done to make a mechanism for automatically enabling or disabling NSFW avatar components based on the current world. @@landonbrown5295 Ooh does that mean you can search for adult groups? because THAT would solve that problem. of course the fact I can't find avatars in any of the Resonite worlds to try on or put anything offered to me in my inventory without learning how to format my inventory first?? which I can't figure out, and the fact the first zombie video game I tried looked bad whenever I moved, and was limited to 4 players, means I probably will wait another 5 years to see if Resonite can become a contender but so far things aren't looking good. Now that VRChat finally lets people search for adult groups, people don't have a reason yet to switch to Resonite and face the annoying learning curve. Not everyone is building their avatars in Blender and happy to follow the process to get it rigged in Resonite. Definitely not for normal and casual people/gamers.

it looks like little big planet but in VR
THIS IS THE EXACT SAME THOUGHT I HAD!!! i lovvee the physicality of everything like the nodes and such just laid out in front of you to play with
Maybe I can out it this way : the New Reality is a new Planet, VRChat is a country, Resonite is a country, Metaverse... An island ? So yeah...
