Nothing happened. Kevin was a #1 option with Wolves. On Cavs he was the 3rd option so his touches decreased. Then NBA game changed and post touches are now considered a bad shot (🙄). So Kevin Love changed his game again and now basically he’s just a catch & shoot or spot up 3pt shooter. He has very few post touches. Also Cavs have 2 young developing guards so they want to use them more as a primary players. To all the young fans before you start hating a player, try to look at that player’s situation and understand why his stats decreased. Don’t hate on a player cuz SKILLS never decreases!

Kevin Love, with his empty stats led the Wolves to the best winning record of the decade (the Jimmy Butler season excluded). Does that mean that Towns and Wiggins stats are even more empty?😃
Look at his stats: His shooting percentages this year are right where they were in Minnesota: 46% FG, 38% 3PT, 85% FT. The thing is he's still not getting the shots he had with the Wolves. Since joining the Cavs, he's regularly taking 5-6 fewer shots a game and half the free throws per game that he took with the Wolves. He's still putting up 18 PPG, 10 RPG and 3 APG. If he got the same shot attempts he did in Minnesota at his current percentages, he'd be averaging over 27 PPG, which would be a career high, and people wouldn't be saying he'd lost his game. As you alluded to, the problem now is that he's not made the focal point of the offense, as the Cavs would rather spend games letting Colin Sexton take most of the shots. It's frustrating to watch, for sure. His current numbers aren't "max contract stats," but it's certainly a stretch to call him a shell of his former self.
@@whatsshakinbaconnothinjust2986 Not really. The Cavs aren't exactly known for giving their stars help. Look at how they wasted 7 years of LeBron's career. I wonder if Love is just proving the statement that the best player that people call a star on one of the worst teams is just a normal player on a good team or if he just isn’t able to return to his old self due to age or injuries
I don’t understand how one can expect Kevin love to continue those kinda Minnesota stat lines after being traded to a team with kyrie, Lebron, and jr smith, high volume scorers like what
It's as simple as Love couldn't play the post with LeBron on the court. James wanted the floor spread, and the Post is where Love makes his money. With LeBron there, he was stuck hitting 16fters or 3 point shot.
Kevin love is the Kevin Martin of big men. Big numbers when he's the only option. Not efficient or skilled enough to really contribute when he has to share the ball

Like you made it sound like Love, Kyrie and Lebron was a disaster and you didn’t even rly mention the championship.... 7:20 you breeze over Lebron leaving for the lakers even tho Kevin love helped us win a chip and the city loves him. A one sided version kinda
@@awethenticmade i dont think so. He is still a good piece for the dubs they can still get championship. Klay is just way better shooter than KLove but Klove overall is slightly better than klay. Interms of rebound
@@marcozombie6713 you're both outta your minds. Klay Thompson is twice the player love ever was even in his prime. You're really trying to say one of the best perimeter defenders... the 2nd best shooter of all time...who has never even shot under 40% from 3 for a season....who runs around on offense like a madman to get open and can drop 60 on any given night and doesn't even need to dribble to score is on the same level as a slightly above average stretch 4 who's shot over 45% ONCE in his career and shot over 40% from 3 ONCE in his career in a season where he only took 2 a game in his 3rd season. It's not even close and if you're gonna try and argue that golden state would have had the same success trading love for Thompson you simply don't know basketball
I remember before Love went to the Cavs he was a double double machine with not just getting that but consistently 20 plus point with 20 rebounds all while being able to stretch out to hit the 3 when needed. I really was hoping he’s return to being a dominant star player when the Lebron and Kyrie left
I think averaging double-double is not bad...i mean he just recovered from too much injuries and not much player showed good performance after some serious injuries...just my thought
The reason why he went to a team with the greatest Small Forward of All-Time who was ball dominate and a shoot first point guard. He was taken away from the post where he was excellent to space the floor where he was solid. I am sure he is very happy with a championship ring.
Love was at his best in MN with a bruising center in Pek and a pass first pg in Rubio. Two player types that are nearly non-existent in the NBA today. With Drummond going to CLE maybe they are trying to replicate some of that dynamic for Love to thrive.
The worst thing that happened to K-Love was landing in Minnesota. That pretty much put him in the depths of NBA obscurity despite his massive numbers. Going to Cleveland finally put him on a good team but at the cost of changing his entire game. But hey, at least he got that title so I'm sure he feels it was worth it. I mean look at KG, same thing happened to him.
Nice vid, but you forgot to point out that today Cleveland is more focused on nurturing their young talent so he really isn't depended on to win games or put up big numbers.
That’s what happens when you play with lebron James . Teams are built around James. They give their future picks and players to best suits lebron. Of course when lebron leaves it becomes a wasteland.look what happened to the cavs 2x and heats. Kyrie was ahead of the curve asking for trade
do you think the cavs gave what lebron really needs during his first stint there? no. that's the reason he left because of poor management of the cavs front office that time
I think people forget that he’s an NBA champ and played a big part in it. Yes he’s not as good as he was but that’s because he’s 31. Mans still a beast put him in a good team and watch him thrive.
Cedi doesn't get the same burn as he did last year, he's been pretty consistent scoring wise. He's been efficient with low volume, but his talent isn't being utilized properly. Sexton and Garland take 30+ shots a game and combine for 6 or 7 assist total. That's unacceptable for guards period.
You forgot to mention that after David blatt got fired and tyronn lue became coach love started to put up really good numbers. The year before kyrie left I think he had a higher per than kyrie
I hope someday Minessota's time will come. Just like what happen in Toronto last 2019.. A good franchise player with a couple of young aggressive support crew. And a pinch of luck.
When you compare stats from his best seasons and last couple of seasons, you need to mention that he played 39mpg and 36mpg in his best seasons. Last two seasons he is playing 27mpg and 31mpg. He is getting older and that is one of the reasons why his minutes dropped down and the other reason is that Cavs are terrible as a team and in majority of their games they are 15-20 points behind going into the last period of the game, so coach don't use him then (not risking injuries...). And he is still getting 17.5ppg and 10rpg on decent shot percentage (55% for 2 and 38% for 3). If you give him more minutes, he would still be a 20+ppg and 12rpg player and for his age of 31, I think that's still decent stats. I personally don't like him because of his defending abilities, but that's some other story...
if you didn't play your way for many years, it's hard to get it back. PLUS he lose weight to match up "Lebron system": staying in the three point line. The fact, Lebron can't play with any good big man in his style. Cause he's useless without ball, and need big men to stay out to clear the paint for his driving.
Worst thing Love could of done was take that MASSIVE contract which has now made him impossible to trade for, like seriously. What contender will want to take that contract on for a player past his prime, is very prone to injuries, suffers with anxiety and really hasn't put up superstar stats on a contending team only role player stats? If he took a short term, smaller contract instead, pretty much every contending team would take a chance on him but he's priced himself out of the market, he chose money over winning and you can't feel sorry for a man which makes that decision.
Kevin Love is being heavily disrespected. Kevin Love in Minnesota was obviously a post player, his whole game mostly lived in the post. He dominated there, and he showed that a few seasons. Love came to Cleveland wanting to play his game, his style and his way of playing basketball in his position. However, when Love arrived in Cleveland he was not able to do that. Cleveland used him as a completely different player then what he wanted to be. He was a post star and they used him as a stretch big. Reasoning for this as mentioned in the video is because of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Not that it's their fault it's just that they are two legendary players. Two of the best in the league. But so was Love, and that's what he did not like. Love had to change his style of play that was working fantastically to fit in with the other stars in LeBron and Kyrie. You can feel his frustration, averaging 26 PPG and 12 RBP, having a 30, 30 game just to be told you have to change your play style. This over the upcoming seasons shut down Love, it destroyed him as a player, it killed his mentality and his drive to want to be great. Despite being crowned 2016 NBA champions, you could still feel the frustration coming from him. Love, LeBron and Kyrie build a fantastic three in Cleveland, dominating the whole of the eastern conference. Love adapted with Kyrie and LeBron and they started to form plays well. Then the whole of 'i'm going to adapt my play style to fit with Kyrie and LeBron' becomes pointless because Kyrie requests a trade away from Cleveland. All of the years practising to fit in with Kyrie becomes pointless because suddenly he does not want to play with LeBron because he wants to be the main vocal point of a team. This was Kevin Love's biggest want, he wanted to be part of the vocal point of a team, just like he was in Minnesota. This is around three to four seasons in of Kevin Love adapting and changing hid play style. So he has most likely weakened in what he used to be incredible at. The post game. It's not really that he weakened, he was not motivate or ready to go back to what he used to play as he was being used as a stretch four for nearly all his time in Cleveland. Kevin Love struggles the season after with LeBron mostly due to injuries taking him out for some duration of the season. As matters could not get any worse, LeBron decided he's going to leave Cleveland. Leaving Kevin the only star. If you think how demotivating this must of been for Kevin as he's adjusted his play style through out the whole of his time at the Cavaliers just for both of the starts to leave. This leaves Kevin not really knowing how he is going to play. Having of changed his game it would be hard for him just to change back to his old post up style. This is coming from a Cavaliers fan myself and i'd o anything to keep Love on the roster. If Love was involved more in the offence, you would have a chnace of seeing the old Love coming back. Its his team now, and he is the leader. Besides you have insane big man partnership of him and Andre.
Kyrie is an amazing player with the best handles. But I rather have Love over Kyrie when at their best. He was a double double machine. Plus less sulky and a better teammate.
I remember the time when he was on the Wolves he bullies everyone just to get that rebound. I miss that KLove and he even beat Howard in rpg for 1 season.

Always felt Love has gone unappreciated in Cleveland, even if he’s never been that guy he was in Minnesota for us he’s still been right around a borderline all star for 6 years, plus he’s better than Wiggins

Watch Cleveland give him an extension. Sounds like something they’ll do
Rogue Sniper Gaming nigga are you dum😂 love would have to accept it to get an extension
He still was able to play good enough D on curry in that final minute, minute and a half.
It still goes back to the the block, the shot, the stop. And he proved a valuable asset in a historic championship run.
And myself whose battled with terrible depression and anxiety; I feel for the man, truly. He’s still had a great career, and I hope he goes to another contender soon.
that was a clutch moment but lets be real love sucked ass the first two years in cleveland.I honestly believe they needed depht and defence with all that k love money terrible move.
For me, the main problem wasn't Love himself but the unreal expectations the team's managers had about him thinking irrational shit like he can carry the team enterely alone lol, not even Michael Jordan neither James could do that.
James did do it alone. He just happened to run in the most stacked team ever fuckin' assembled in the finals 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cedi osman has been getting better hes a better shooter now and he’s actually clutch af he always makes a three when we need one

Most players can lockdown curry, thats why most of his shots are coming of screens, and his drives are against centers of the switch that easily gets blown by him sometimes except that last play in the finals against love😂

This videos stupid and uncalled for make one about igudolas bitch ass. Have no respect for him now.
When he got to cleveland he immediately got stuck camping outside the 3 pt line. He didnt use his post up game
I think it is not because of Lebron, Love is special in Minny but because injuries, defense, mental illness. Thats tough!
Every prominent player(esp bigs) numbers go down DRASTICALLY with LeBron. He does not make his team mates better. He does not improve their games. He pigeonholes them into shooting 3s
Baldheadslck could also be the fact they are now playing along another star
@@Jacob-rb2dy not if you're "making your teammates better" Kevin loves ppg dropped 10ppg the year he teamed up with LeBron. LeBron making his teammates better as a myth. Steve Nash made his teammates better, Jason Kidd made his teammates better. LeBron forces everyone to play outside of their comfort zone in order to maximize his play style.
@@Jacob-rb2dy another myth is that LeBron is a pass first player. He always shot the most shots per game on his team
Baldheadslck wasn’t the one of the first things said was that lebron tried to play to their play style? Also he was playing with Kyrie as well, both players who like to attack the paint, so having a post player would clog that up, yet Love’s shots in the paint increased
He is Just an example for a player puting up empty stats on a bad team. He is 26 and 12 guy for a losing and disfunctional team, but for a contender and winner he is 17 and 9 guy. Simple
Like devin booker as well. Dbook wouldn't even average 15 on the lakers now
I mean not entirely. He went from being the number 1 option to being the third to 2 other ball dominant guys. Plus they forced him to play a lot differently than what he was used to so those things play huge factors in this as well.
Timberwolves were not exactly THAT bad In 2014, they went 40-42, with a team that was basically K-Love, Rubio, Pekovic who got injured, and then a whole bunch of mediocre players. Corey Brewer was a starter who played over 30 minutes per game, Kevin Martin was alright, but their bench was disastrous, Ronny Turiaf was playing 20 minutes per game.

@@nba2gay387 I think you have not seen Booker playing this season at all, he avereges 27, 4, 6 on 50% from the field and 92% from the line. These are incredible stats, and the Suns are actualy not bad at all this year, they are currently the 11th seed in the west and 4 games away from a playoff spot being led by Booker while their second best player in Ayton played only 17 games
HE HAS NO HELP, he is a great player on a horrible team.
He fell off before this season...
Yeah signing that massive contract is the reason why they got no help. It's kind of his own fault
like in minnesota...
@@whatsshakinbaconnothinjust2986 Not really. The Cavs aren't exactly known for giving their stars help. Look at how they wasted 7 years of LeBron's career. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Mo Williams, Antwan Jamison were the supporting cast on those teams lol. Their biggest signing was a 100-year old Shaq. That kinda gives you an idea of the type of organization the Cavs are.
Max 117 they also overpaid damn near half the team including Kevin love
He became a champion. Something that would have never happened in Minnesota
But in Minnesota, he was the main guy there
He also became a less dominant, less flashy player, I'm sure he would've loved to win a championship as THE guy
He really didn’t do much 2016. He was injured early in that playoff run by stepping on a refs foot😐, then he got injured again in the finals (head injury), and last but not least AVERAGED 8pts and 6rebs during the historic 3-1 comeback
A championship he contributed next to nothing to.
@@RogueSniperGaming Thats disrespectful to Love he put up 10 points and 14 rebounds in game 7 and had a key defensive play against Steph towards the end and he had a concussion injury in game 3 so he sat a game. And he was still able to push thru. And he had a great game 7 the game that really mattered.
I wonder if Love is just proving the statement that the best player that people call a star on one of the worst teams is just a normal player on a good team or if he just isn’t able to return to his old self due to age or injuries
I don’t understand how one can expect Kevin love to continue those kinda Minnesota stat lines after being traded to a team with kyrie, Lebron, and jr smith, high volume scorers like what
Love gave us lots of good memories during the era of Lebron's Cav 2.0. He is good.
Always come in clutch with great videos
It's as simple as Love couldn't play the post with LeBron on the court. James wanted the floor spread, and the Post is where Love makes his money. With LeBron there, he was stuck hitting 16fters or 3 point shot.
Kevin love is the Kevin Martin of big men. Big numbers when he's the only option. Not efficient or skilled enough to really contribute when he has to share the ball
Hey I’m a lifetime Cleveland resident just FYI I like the video but there are a few aspects I didn’t appreciate. Like you made it sound like Love, Kyrie and Lebron was a disaster and you didn’t even rly mention the championship.... 7:20 you breeze over Lebron leaving for the lakers even tho Kevin love helped us win a chip and the city loves him. A one sided version kinda
I remember the Warriors almost traded Klay Thompson for Love
Yeah same. What a disaster that would have been for the dubs.
@@awethenticmade i dont think so. He is still a good piece for the dubs they can still get championship. Klay is just way better shooter than KLove but Klove overall is slightly better than klay. Interms of rebound
Both win because Curry isn't selfish, he would feed Love just like how he willingly pass on Klay
As a lifelong Cleveland Cavs fan, I'm happy the team won in 2016. End of story.
What really happened ryan “kevin love” anderson?
I remember before Love went to the Cavs he was a double double machine with not just getting that but consistently 20 plus point with 20 rebounds all while being able to stretch out to hit the 3 when needed. I really was hoping he’s return to being a dominant star player when the Lebron and Kyrie left
Love never fell... Dudes shooting the lights out of every arena he enters this year.
I think averaging double-double is not bad...i mean he just recovered from too much injuries and not much player showed good performance after some serious injuries...just my thought
He's still be a great piece for any team it's just there's always a "?" On how long can he stay healthy in a season..
I don’t know that he was ever top five, maybe top ten at best.
The reason why he went to a team with the greatest Small Forward of All-Time who was ball dominate and a shoot first point guard. He was taken away from the post where he was excellent to space the floor where he was solid. I am sure he is very happy with a championship ring.
Kevin Love in Minnesota was better than prime Blake Griffin ever was
I remember when Kevin Love was mad funny of because of his injuries. Specifically his hand injury. I can only imagine the pressure this dude was in
He was so fucking good , very underrated passing for a big. Best rebounder and post up back then . Sucks he went to Cleveland
Many may think that his time with Cleveland was great, yes it was great but his time in Minnesota was legendary because he was famous there.
3 way trade. Love to the Warriors, Wiggins to Cavs, D Lo to Wolfs.
Salaries would oddly work lol.
Nice vid, but you forgot to point out that today Cleveland is more focused on nurturing their young talent so he really isn't depended on to win games or put up big numbers.
I want him back in Minnesota
He won a ring.
I hope love would like to join Minnesota to help developing all young players.
That’s what happens when you play with lebron James . Teams are built around James. They give their future picks and players to best suits lebron. Of course when lebron leaves it becomes a wasteland.look what happened to the cavs 2x and heats. Kyrie was ahead of the curve asking for trade
I keep telling people this.
do you think the cavs gave what lebron really needs during his first stint there? no. that's the reason he left because of poor management of the cavs front office that time
I dunno. Heat are doing well. Lakers got AD and two more years of LeBron. Cleveland is just shitty
@@whosaidthat84 There were several reasons for the Cavs' decline, and Lebron's ball dominance was one of them.
I hope Love can get back to his all star form even just for a single season before he retires.
Im so happy Kevin Love got a title in 2016
He was balling in Minnesota, if only stayed for a little, his stats was better when he played for T-Wolves than Cavs
I think people forget that he’s an NBA champ and played a big part in it. Yes he’s not as good as he was but that’s because he’s 31. Mans still a beast put him in a good team and watch him thrive.
I think he slimmed down and changed his play style to shooting more 3s
Idk about you but I won’t call someone with 50 million dollars in his bank account a failure
@Kings Will Soon Rise performance won’t pay your bills
Doesn’t everyone expect stats to go when when you play with other great players?
Efficiency went down too
How good was Udonis Haslem pls
Udonis Haslem Fan decent for years
Bradly Beal and Kevin Love deserve to be in better situations. Maybe even playing with each other.
Part of me wonder how this team would’ve turned out if Cleveland would’ve kept Andrew Wiggins and develop him under lebron and Kyrie
Yeah I haven't really heard of Kevin Love until this video
Ted Zhang ?????
Why da hell are you here!
Huh? Are you 10 years old?
I think besides being his home town drafting kyrie was a big reason he came back, he saw what kyrie was gonna be
He just doesn't play hard anymore. He's became too comfortable.
if you didn't play your way for many years, it's hard to get it back. PLUS he lose weight to match up "Lebron system": staying in the three point line. The fact, Lebron can't play with any good big man in his style. Cause he's useless without ball, and need big men to stay out to clear the paint for his driving.
He’s still really good, there really isn’t much you can do on one of the worst teams in the nba
Here before the haters just blame Lebron without even watching the video🤣
