I'm glad you made them too. I was looking for an easy way to make these riding boards and nothing could be easier thank you so much. Blessings and love from New Mexico

Thank you for all you do! I enjoy every single one of your videos and am inspired every day. You were the one who inspired me to try hand/slow stitching and I am addicted. I use it in my journal making process as often as I can. I am also going to try my hand at water colors as well. Thank you so much Rachel for taking the time to make videos and sharing and inspiring.

Might retrofit some journals with these. A nice relaxing chore to get me back in the game.

Iove writing boards, a must for bulky journals! I add the thin metal book cover corners to help protect the corners from getting bent. 🙂

Bravo- and thank you so much for the tutorial. I really appreciate you taking the time to record your process-- everyone who has done one of these writing boards seems to do it differently- which is great!!

@@roxycreations679 - It was a cheap second hand machine- so basically - it was ok to play and practice with. Now I think I have 6 machines- working on getting a free-stitching machine set up, a couple old clunkers for sewing through anything and a couple good machines-- one for the studio, one for the house. I bought them all 2nd hand and super cheap- but have to have options- I get bored too easily!! LOL My advice is slow and steady-- take your time and be certain where your needle is going- but it is a lot more powerful that one thinks.

I used hard clear plastic that I got from Muji. It's perfect. Helps to write for sure.
Your one is much prettier than my clear plastic

This is exactly what I had wanted to do to make a writing board, so you just confirmed that it works! Thank you!
I wasn’t sure if the glue made for any kind of bumps after it dried… But obviously not! Also, Love your work but it wouldn’t hurt to fast forward through the dull part of the process, makes the videos quicker and more streamlined. Just a thought! 🤓😇

What you use as a gluing book would be a treasure in Western Canada. Those kind of books just aren’t available.

GdE Rachel!! Thanks for sharing this tutorial!! I've used the DT cutting mats, covered in contact and then added coordinating paper. THIS is cost effective (using up scraps)!
    🎉 Happy New Year 2021🎊!!
    Peace & Blessings!!

It occurred to me that if you are folding the edges in you can skip trimming the white off. Anything to help you make more pretty things in less time. ;)

Rachel, thanks! Are both those papers from Medieval Mirage? I’m working on my third envelope journal and I think the first paper will go with the straw paper page. I’m having fun with the journals as presents for friends - thanks to you!
