No my brother, it's not the same.
Mudarriss مُدَرِّس is the one who literally "gives you what is already in the book". Meaning, he teaches you the lessons intended to be taught. Darsson means a lesson.
Mu'allim مُعَلِّم is way more deeper. Because it is derived from the word ilm علم meaning knowledge. So the Mu'allim is by necessity a teacher but he teaches you or leads you to knowledge, in any field or matter, in a more detailed and profound way.
They have different roots
1 درس
2 علم
So they have different verbs and different achievements, darasa is to study. And ta'allama is to seek knowledge.

He is Nigerian and he is Muslim. So in order to fulfill his religious obligations and spiritual needs, he needs to know the language of the sacred book he believes in, and it is the Arabic language. A very tremendously beautiful language.

@@isaacmonterrosa4657 watch the video in his channel where he talks about building the school in his hometown. They talked about a Islamic charity and things like that. Also read his biography, he went to study in Saudi Arabia. And he always greets the viewers with the Islamic greeting Assalamu Alaykom.
I think he still runs that website, there are some details over there.
