Hey guys and gals, just wanted to address something.
So I generally go camping/filming by myself, as I do enjoy the peace, awareness and quiet time with God and my own mind. It is a whole different experience then going with someone, but both with and without someone are fun and needed at times in my opinion.
There is a reason why 90% plus of TH-camrs generally film by themselves (unless the other person is just filming them) as it’s much easier to create content without all the distractions and talking gong on.
If only one person is trying to create a video of the trip it is doable, but when both are creating videos it can be even harder as someone’s always talking or trying to film something for the audience.
With that said you will see some videos like my most recent video and next video coming soon where I have an old friend along named Joel who I’ve know since elementary and have recently the last year or so become good friends with again who also loves to go camping and film videos of it.
These videos where I have a friend along with may not feel as engaging or complete for you guys as like stated above it is much harder to film when you and a friend are constantly talking back and forth. The extra person also takes up more room in the area you are trying to film with their body and all their belongings.
So videos you see with a friend, try to hold them to a lower standard and enjoy what you can from them 😂 I could only record my solo adventures, but I like to record all my adventures for memories and I know some do enjoy seeing others in my videos sometimes also.
Joel as of now is the main friend you will see in some of my videos as he loves camping a lot like me and makes for a fun adventure. There are some things that I’m not personally into that he is. Like say light sabers as an example, something you would never see me buy or do by myself, but that doesn’t mean If he brings some I’m not going to have fun with my friend for a moment and have a short light saber battle in my video. He’s also a little crazier and hyper at times in ways I’m generally not, and may do something like he did in recent video by throwing some fire crackers into the fire and they obviously went off. Yes I laughed with him as it is ok to goof around a bit and enjoy your silly friend when you’re with him. He also loves drones and was flying it where he legally is able to and these particular bird breed love to dive bomb people and things that are near and it was hilarious in the moment as they were dive bombing his drone.
I say all this so some of you who read this, my true subscribers have a little more context and understanding of why videos with a friend may not feel the same as my regular solo content.
Joel may come off as a little crazy and too goofy for some of you, but try to hold back any negative comments or casting of judgment as you don’t know him well enough or know his story or full context of what is going on in a short video clip. I only show the highlights of him doing something silly, he isn’t like that 24/7 as it may seem lol. He’s a great guy at heart and has come along way in life, but still not perfect like me or any of you reading this. Some are good at making the outside look good but their heart is very cruel and judgmental toward others when we all just need love.
Remember Jesus hung out with the sinners not the pharisees who thought they had it all together. We are called to love the unlovable. Remember It is the goodness of God that leads to repentance. (Mentioning this because of a decent amount of very judgmental rude comments toward my friend, which I had to delete some)
With all that said I have some sweet solo van camping trips planned with some cool products to try out that you guys should enjoy, so love you guys and see you soon! 😃

With the mosquito problem where you camp you need to get a thermocell device. It works.

I grew up in southwest Florida not far from the Everglades and I never experienced mosquitoes like I did when I visited Minnesota. Holy smokes. Great video. Star Wars scene was my fav!

The woods were really thick there so hard to see very into them. Animals are pretty smart and run away before we get close enough to see them lol. When I get my thermal that records videos you will see all the animals in the woods it will be sweet 😀

I know tobacco in Minnesota is taxed super heavy. There used to be billboards on the Iowa side of I-35 telling you to buy your smokes now before entering the land of high prices.

In bear country you’ll need a portable electric fence around your campsite. Less than 2.5 lbs for huge peace of mind.

From South Africa one plan is none 2 plan's are one.. my rig is landrover discovery II based. Traveling solo, becoming immobilized remotely is a concern. As backup I used to have a 72h kitted backpack removably attached to a folding golf cart, (much like a GBHB) idea being to have everything in one place to walk out... Then I hit my 60's and walking ??????? Not so much... so I've replaced mu GBHB with one of them motorized skateboards..
Super lightweight, super economical, folds down to very little and realistically gets about 40km / h, . Just thought to put that out there after your clip of your buddy riding one

Great video! Speaking of those mosquitoes-I’m from just outside Philadelphia, it gets really humid here and I’ve always gotten eaten alive. I did a year of college in Minnesota though and I was not prepared for how bad the mosquitoes would be! 🤣

Thanks Ruth! I mean 2 rocks in the front for sure, but if it’s windy and you can’t steak it down you can use two in the back and maybe middle also to keep it tight. The fireworks were low under the wood and wouldn’t light for awhile after the wood was burning, so wasn’t really dangerous just wasn’t expecting to see that there lol. I think you’ll really enjoy that tailvail this summer

His drone is an fpv drone meant to go fast and fly around. He wasn’t terrorizing any birds, he was flying his drone and those particular birds were going after his drone. It was funny seeing them dive bomb his drone, that is all

There were a few reasons I stopped watching the lasted video but the main reason what your friend decided to joke about being on the “spectrum “. I have a grandson on the spectrum and met several other children on the spectrum and they have acted like that. Very insulting from your ignorance friend. I was a special needs counselor for two years, and I looked after kids with all sorts of disability's such as autism. My best friend also has autism.
