- You've heard about our Restomod guitars made from rescued and repurposed vintage guitars, but this week's video is a case of pure restoration. This old Epiphone Frontier was barely a guitar when we first met it: the neck was separated from the body and split at the heel, and believe it or not, it had no top!
Sit down with a cozy beverage and let Mike regale you with the tale of how we rescued this Epiphone from the trash heap, with a community of talented luthiers acting as our own little Genesis Device.

Everyone: Sir, the odds of successfully restoring this guitar are 3720 to one!
Mike: Never tell me the odds!
Just bought the new Masterbuilt reissue Frontier.Highly reccomend I love it.
cool story. You made that guitar more cool than it ever could have been.
Nice job!!!!
Love my 70’s Epiphone 12 string😎👍🎵
Fabulous conclusion to a great story.
Great storytelling fellas.
I would put one of Mike's Trek stickers on that bad boy....maybe I shouldn't own any vintage instruments
Great to hear this guitar’s story! Looks amazing!
Wow. I never would have guessed that top wasn't original.
Great edit on this one Mike
What a stunningly beautiful looking guitar. Absolutely great job done to make it look vintage and original. Always great to see what is and was a great instrument brought back to life! I believe however, that as well as having a natural instead of sunburst finish the original bridge on the guitar was adjustable.
Great story and guitar!
wow, that sounds spectacularly good. Very well done one and all

You’re almost closer to having built a new guitar than having done a restoration.
You could have bought a new one for about a G and save money and time...
