Thank you Rebecca, he must have been in a lot of pain. Doesn’t excuse his behaviour but such pain must have driven him nuts! 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍👵🇦🇺

I've always thought he was most likely diabetic, which makes sense because of a rich diet, his obesity, and the ulcers on his leg. As far as his mental state is concerned, I suspect he was bipolar...The extravagance in spending, grandiosity presenting as mania, and his black moods as depression. Non medically speaking he was a cruel monster. I love the way Damian Lewis portrays him in "Wolf Hall." Just a horrible human being, using scripture in that self-serving way. He did have extraordinary charisma and was a genius at manipulating and then discarding anyone who no longer served his purposes. He certainly squeezed the most he could out of Thomas Cromwell before beheading him, not to mention his two wives. So add to all the above.. he was a sociopathic malignant narcissist. Thanks for this, fascinating!

he also took a severe fall from his horse during a joisting session and was unconscious for 2hrs....shortly after, he became a total dink.....if he did damage to his frontal lobe in the fall, it would explain his personality change
