You know Balanchine loved a pretty girl with a sense of style as much as the next guy but that is NOT what the choreography is ABOUT. What happened to extended lunges so deep that they almost look like the full !80 degree penchee. She is barely moving. And looks about like she going to blow a kiss all the time instead of pushing herself off balance. I'm not saying everyone has to do it like Suzanne but a little effort PLEASE a little nod towards the 20th century. It is BALANCHINE not PETIPA!!!!!!!!!!!
good to know the russians still can't get more modern choreography. they're regressing instead of progressing like the godawful "restoration of flora" that tsiskiridze brought back for whatever self-serving reason. balanchine is a very specific style of american ballet and to know they don't care to emulate it... very in keeping with russian arrogance.
