Remember that there is a 1:1 "copy" in Germany (former WB Movie World - now Movie Park Germany) in Bottrop, Kirchhellen. The Gold Coast Park was the blueprint for the one here in Germany. After WB sold the Park in 2004, many Attractions got a re-branding, but the street layout is mostly the same. Great to get the actual view of the Park from Australia and remember about the good old times here in the late 90s over in Bottrop :).
I was hoping this video would be interesting for some German people. Glad it helped bring back some nice memories! I'd love to visit Movie Park one day and compare the differences in person!
@@ThemeParkOgre Having just visited the German Park recently, I've noticed that the main street area is exactly identical to the one in Australia - from the locations of the different buildings like the bank, Roxy theater, city hall and so forth to the decoration, even to this day.
I can still remember when they advertised the lethal weapon pursuit suspend coaster, but we had the dueling coaster, a shame that it had to be torn down
They had a good looney tunes darkride as well. When the park was sold they turned it into a ice age ride but now its turned down. The park was way better in the 90s when it was still warner. The gremling ride. looney tunes. batman. The never ending story rapid. Great shows. Miss these times man. Weird enough they do have a looney tunes 4d movie there right now.
I'm commenting from Japan. I think there is a funny expression because I translated it with a translator. Two years ago, I came here for the first time on a high school trip. At that time, I enjoyed the attractions, knowing little of the Warner Brothers character. I took a picture with Wonder Woman, but it was very happy when I found out about us with the Japanese. I want to go to Australia again when COVID-19 is converated.
I've never been to Movie World but I have been to Universal Studios in Japan and I'm surprised to see how similar these are. Universal Studios is obviously a lot bigger and better but movie world looks pretty cool. It looks like Movie World is a copy of Universal Studios.
They used to do attractions pretty well in the 90's in wb movieworld germany but they dont seem to make new rides with proper animatronics and stuff anymore. Such a shame. A lot of things they own could make such fun rides and it could live up to disneyland if they made good effort
Not France, but Spain! Doesn't share much with Movie World aside from having their own version of Wild West Falls. Looks like a great park! Germany also had a Movie World, which was actually a near clone of the Australian version. It got rethemed to "Movie Park Germany" a while back, but still shares some similarities. The entrance and main street to both parks are near identical even to this day. There's also a Warner Bros park in Abu Dhabi, though it shares nothing with the other parks.
we had one of this WB theme parks here in germany, but it lost its licence and is now called movie park.. its nice to see what it could had be to this day.. It's not, that the current park is ugly or something, it just lacks of charm and character..
I'd love to visit one day! Some of the rides seem very fun, like Van Helsing. Interesting how some sections of the parks are nearly identical in design (the entrance and main street for example).
@@ThemeParkOgre The Park he was talking about is called Movie Park Germany (Formerly Warner Bros Movie World Germany) Apparently Warner Bros bought some land and Made Warner Bros Movie World Germany (Slogan: Hollywood In Germany) But then six flags bought, and they still keep the Warner bros theme. And sometime around 2004 six flags sold the park To a German company that removed the Warner Bros theming and Replaced it with 20th Century Fox, Dreamwork’s And Nickelodeon, I mean it’s still a good park but it would be better if they still kept the Warner Bros theming.
@@ThemeParkOgre yeah True, the first time I saw the park I was like “that’s a ripoff of movie world” and I’m surprised to hear it formerly used to also be a movie world
I miss the Looney Tunes ride. That was one of the best rides there, apart from the Wild West Adventure ride of course. Why Movie World decided to remove that ride is beyond me. I enjoy the Scooby Doo ride though, except for the bit where you go backwards.
The Looney Tunes ride was a lot of fun and is sorely missed. I have a video with some footage of it on my channel if you want to check it out! th-cam.com/video/uw-2IqgewPo/w-d-xo.html
@@jordanking7711 I don't think a reason was given out. Might have been due to the Ride system, as Bermuda Triangle at Sea World (which used the same Ride system) closed around that time too. Both rides were fairly complex at the time, so were probably maintenance nightmares. Just speculating!
It's amazing how no one is wearing masks (I'm not opposed to it at all), however if you did that in America you'd more then likely get kicked out of somewhere like Disney or Universal.

Because we were filming this walkthrough video. We went on lots of rides after filming though! 😁

Luckily this area of Australia has done extremely well with Covid. Let's hope things get back to normal soon - I feel for everyone in other countries.
This is what Six Flags should be in the US
Would indeed be interesting to see how they'd do a proper "theme" park compared to their amusement parks!
