    I've done the third mistake a couple of times and at first thought I was dropping a stitch, so I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Thanks for explaining what I was doing and how to fix it. So simple.

    Thank you Maryna for providing these videos. I have been knitting for 2 years, and taught myself how knit. I am so happy to have found your videos. Your tutorials have now made my knitting so much easier.

    Thank you for showing how holes are made & how to fix them. I have done 3 out of the 5 you have shown here. I hate being reminded that I am not perfect and holes are excellent reminders!

      Benita, it's ok to be not perfect. We all are :-) It's much more important to enjoy knitting, and holes shouldn't ruin that joy. Now that we know where those holes come from, they don't stand a chance :-)

    Hi Maryna. Just wondering if you have done a video on how to hold the yarn for continental knitting. Even though I’m left-handed, I can’t seem to get the hang of it. I’ve been knitting and crocheting right-handed for years but really love how smooth and effortless your knitting looks as you demonstrate things. Perhaps you have already shown how to continental. If so, can you point me to it? Thanks so much.

      Hi Bonnie. I still haven't got to make a tutorial about Continental knitting. What a shame! It's on my to-do list, I'll make it within a few weeks. Stay tuned :-)

    Maryna, you mentioned that you have to anchor on a short row. that’s the first I have heard that. In one of your newsletters, can you explain how to make short rows properly? I have struggled with this concept as I am a relatively new knitter. I have also made some of the mistakes in the video!!!! 🤪🤪🤪

      Becky, the word "anchor" is rarely used when they describe different ways to make short rows. But "anchoring" is exactly what we do to avoid that huge hole. In a few weeks, I'll make a tutorial about my favourite way to make short rows. Stay tuned :-)

    When you start the first row of knitting how come the stitches are so loose?

    • @10rowsaday
      @10rowsaday  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you feel that your stitches are too tight in the first row, use the cast-on method explained at www.10rowsaday.com/russian-knitting-caston Happy knitting :-)

    How do you know which yarn over mistake you made? Since I've you just drop to fix and one you have to knit the yarn over.

      Hi Brenda, every one of these mistakes has a slightly different look - #1 always happens at the edge of the fabric, #2 looks like a regular yarn over, #3 will have two strands - stitch from the previous row + the strand that was not pulled through that stitch, #4 will make the work tighter and usually you will feel it as you knit it, #5 changes the overall shape of the fabric because we add extra short rows. To make sure you know each of these mistakes, I highly recommend making a swatch to test every mistake shown in the video. That way, you will know what you are dealing with if one of these mistakes happens in future. Good luck :-)

    I really shouldn't watch TV and knitt. I look down and oops

      Of course, it is better to focus solely on knitting, but it is so much fun to knit while watching a movie :-)
