Of all the games I played in my childhood, this was the one the never got old. I grew up on this game and learned a lot from the friends I made. It sounds weird, but this game made me who I am
Hey Mike, same here brother. I was never popular or had many friends in elementary or middle school. So this game was a substitute to having a social life. But from all the hundreds of friends I have made throughout the years, I did retain a few of them that have stuck by me throughout the years. I even learned some life lessons from talking to some people in the game. I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes truth is weirder than fiction.
It's funny, this person posted this in 2008 probably having nostalgia of old Toontown, but now a days 2008 is basically old Toontown, it's in the first half of Toontown's lifespan after all.
Don't you just wish you could go back to 2003? When Disney Channel was awesome, same with CN and Nick. They had those amazing SpongeBob PS2 Games. ToonTown was just released. You could still use Windows XP. And let's not forget that Finding Nemo was out. Rayman 3 was released as well. Windwaker was, too. You could leave your door open on a happy summer day. It was a simple time with charm everywhere. Now it's 2015. Do I feel that anymore? No. We haven't progressed massively. However, despite that, Video's like these remind me when it was fun being a kid. I just wanna cry right now. If only things could change. This music also fills me with so much nostalgia that I think I'm gonna explode in tears. I try to live old school. This world just doesn't accept that. But whenever I play ToonTown, all that stress goes away. ( Unless you are a troll ) Here's to another beautiful age for ToonTown. :')
For those of you wondering, at 1:05, GKVector is actually a rabbit wearing a duck mask. There were masks for toons to wear during beta but they were removed.
I'm probably older than anyone else here, I'm in my 20s and THIS was my childhood. I started playing in 2004, when the game was barely a year old, and eventually got all my friends to play. We'd all battle together, have estate parties, it was a lot of fun. I know there's Toontown Rewritten, but, it'll never be the same. I miss being a kid on Toontown.
I remember coming home from school and just racing to the computer so I could play Toon Town. I had this friend on the game that I always played with and then one day he never came back. I remember being a short bunny and I had a cute little dog and a house. I also remember when there would be this game where you would get guys and girls to play and each one would pick who they wanted to date. 😂 I'm 15 now, 16 in 2 months, and I still think this game would be pretty fun to play!
Kaelyn I miss it so fucking much 😭😭😭😭 I was a tall pink cat with a raccoon named doodle this may sound childish but there's a very good reason why I still cry today about this game. And how much I miss it. 9/19/13 😭😭 I miss her. Princess peanut pickle about
So weird to see TTC look so different from how it would end up. I kinda like the circular focus that that design had versus what we ended up with. Sure, it's a lot easier to cross through, but I like the low walls and the abundance of trees. Feels like a real park with a sidewalk surrounding it for all the main buildings. I do like the gazebo we have, tbh.
I always thought the green/blue/orange/white color scheme of Toontown was oddly familiar. While seeing this video, I think I realized that the colors were based off of IDLE's colors (one of the first Python IDEs)! Honestly I can't think of another reason why they would have gone with such weird colors for the friends GUI and name display lol
such fitting music. also it's weird to think that the kids that are playing in this video are adults now, like early 20's to early 30's. Most would probably be 25, though.
Today Toontown Online closed at approximately 12:35 Pacific standard time, it ended an era and will be missed by many all we have now are pictures and videos. I hope to see you again one day... Goodbye old friend.... R.I.P you truly deserve it...
Wow, I missed out. I am 12 now but I played it when I was 7 in 2010. Born in 2003... OMG! I am the same age as Toontown! I hate how it closed so Disney could keep ruining Club Penguin (I first played it around March 2011) But I dont play CP very much anymore so I went to ToonTown Infinite when PlayTime schedules were never open and you had to wait 1000000000000000 years in the PlayLine in ToonTown Rewritten. I was very ashamed that I was never on TTI the day it closed. But now, I play ToonTown Rewritten.
Crazy how much this game had a hold on my childhood as well as Pirates of the Caribbean Online and Roblox. I joined all of them in 2008 and had seem them all change for better or worse, it's kind of crazy to see them grow or die with you.
Ahhh... the magical world of TTO Beta, when: TTC was a circular playground MML had a merry-go-round-like platform fishing, racing, gardening and golfing were not yet implemented there weren't as many districts the HQ in the BRRRGH was still a walk-through igloo nametags were orange Toon buildings had unique wallpapers in-game glitches were mainstream cog HQs weren't released yet, so it showed the cog names, not the cog types DDL Donald didn't have a nightgown and cap Each neighborhood had "safe tunnels" you stood up on the trolley ...and the memories were made :)
The old ttc playground looked better. the new one i always didn't like. its unnecessarily large and was took a long time to get to the destination in the playground.
Ah. Great memories. And great music. The glitches ( some still on toontown, example inside cog, happened to me once), the disguises, and everything. Good times.
Ah, I miss Toontown! Used to go on it back in 2007-08. Not really old Toontown, as such, but I watched it develop: from the likes of pig toons coming about, Bossbot HQ, Chip 'N' Dale's Acorn Acres, and more! I got stuck on a really tough task and never completed it; I stopped playing it before I could. I loved Toontown! It was my life! Loved my SFs, too. :D
i wish old toontown was still here. I wish everything in old toontown was there but toon parties and level seaven gag tracks and all the hqs and everything. old toontown is awesome!!!
I don't see why so many people dislike new toontown. I mean, old toontown looks AWESOME with the igloo in the brrgh and the merry-go-round in mml and the old ttc playground, but I like new toontown, too. I played toontown in like 2005 when it was different, and I loved playing it then. I still love playing it now.
MAN!!! I didn't have Toontown back in '02. I wish Toontown Central didn't change. Now it's all boring. I remember when the piano spinned in Minnie's Melodyland. Good times, good times... Great vid btw.
Oh, how I would love to see the Old Toontown Central.. It's a dream of mine. It would also be very cool to know someone that was in these pictures, like Anarchy. Funny how things were so different!
I remember joining in about 2004, and I absolutely LOVED it. Now, Toontown is just.. full of hackers and everyone goes to Toon Valley. No one really helps other toons out like they used to, and most toons are below 30 laff. Haha, I also remember when everyone was competing to get into the VP elevator. Good times.. :')
I started to play toontown in 2005/2006 and i miss old toontown so much.. i ish that toonotwn would ake old toontown come back for a year.. that would make me so happy! Thumbs up if you agree!
Me too, the street props were made because many little/noobish toons were writing in about a stronger toon defeating the cog they needed for a task and quitting because they couldn't get anything done. I remember Toontown back when there were trials for non-paying members, you couldn't go into the Brrrgh and all those other places, but you could actually decorate your house and have a garden and junk, so I liked it better back then = /
Everytime I watch this video it makes me cry. I miss TT from the old days. I don't have any OLD screenshots because I did not know how to take them back then but I have about a million from 2004.
my brother used to play toontown that is how i found it...... he played before goofy had his speedway before there was memberships ever... everything has completely changed in toontown since now dreamland has high levels and also all the playgrounds designs changed forever.... it was a big change...... speaking of change i never knew there was short changes in dreamland.
I like old toontown, but I also love toontown today. You gotta admit, it's still pretty cool. Yeah, they took away one of the gag tracks, but now we have another level, bigger banks, and accessories! I love them both.
Wow... I miss this game. Where you had no membership and this game was still badass. Man, last time played was bout 3 months ago and everything that once made toontown what it was... all gone. Well thats what happens when companies start shifting to thr money instead of the players.
omg! i remember these days! it was SOOOOO much fun! everything was so different and so much fun! and does anyone remember when you could get on the elevator more than once before the countdown started over????
good video! :D wow that brought me back! i remember when i first started toontown in 2003-2009 but really i didnt have internet in 2008 so ive been playing for 5 years! still i remember those days thanks for making video it was kool
I've been playing Toontown since I was 10 in 2004. I made another account in early 2007 and I got my toon up to a laff meter of 85. Then I forgot about it for a long time, and recently came back. Everything is SO different now, it's kind of sad. Too many hackers and spammers. I really miss the old Toontown. Even though I'm almost 18, I still think it's fun. It definitely was way better back in the day though. I remember when Monkeys were the new species, and Chip and Dales Acorn Acres came out!
My whole life was entirely based around this game.
Devin Millar same
Amen
Same!
same here dude, I played Toontown in 2006 and have been hooked ever since
@@Mitzi-chan224 It's pretty damn timeless and ahead of it's time at the same time.

OG toomtown is from 2003
In five years, 2008 will be twenty years old 😢

Agreed. It was the best. 💕
Toontown Rewritten is good too cuz it fills that empty hole that Toontown Online disappeared.
