Right where you are standing at the start, there is a tiny little ledge on the right that you can jump over to. Looks impossible, but you just ride your mount and stay to the right and avoid all of that first part with all the NPCs fights you need to do.
Fighting these things, I've only ever used one corrosion tanks. Not exactly sure how those work, but apparently they reduce its defense. For lasers, simply circling at a speed to avoid the laser works.

Corrosion thanks are the way !, they weaken the robots and makes it faster to defeat them. Still takes time but they are worth it
