    So I really hate to be the ass but yall really need Bob back. The way yall showed how it performed was not impressive at all. How ever I did like seeing that everlast cooler under the machine 😎

      I was just thinking that same thing. So I decided to scan the comments real quick first make sure I wouldn't just be piling on something that people are already saying. Maybe they're just new at this, IDK. Bob's voice definitely has a way of making people want to listen though

    AHP makes some really solid machines. the quality you get if you open the case and take a look at the parts are quite impressive. Which confirms why it's much heavier then the competition 200amp machines. I'm not sure how they are able to sell at such a low price but what i can tell you is I've had my 201xd for about 5 years now and these machines have such a smooth and stable arc. You DON'T HAVE TO BE AFRAID of using it for hours non stop at 175amps? Without even hitting duty cycle. Very durable and beautiful machines.
    👍 👍 for AHP WELL DONE FELLAS 👏

    Hopefully you guys find your groove. Figure out who your target audience is. Provide actual info about the machines you’re reviewing- i.e. why are there 3 knobs for pulse, what do they do, what are their parameters. What is the min/max settings for balance and frequency on AC? Etc. Also, there’s not 1 person in the world that wants to see grown men unboxing anything, ever. Do that off camera, lay everything out and then go over each accessory individually. Then do some arc shots at different settings. This will make the viewers happy. Then fluff it up and tell us how great the machine is so the sponsor will be happy. It could be worse, you could have Mr. Tig back on...

    • @twistedsocal
      @twistedsocal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      pulse frequency pulse balance so how often and how long for how often and then how high are the three pulse knobs but if you welded you would know this. also, its nice to see if the machine is packed and shipped nicely so the unbox is appreciated...as far as sponsorship, they use a ton of these welders because3 they are cheap and easy to use and weld very well for any price point do ahp sends them demo or sampler machines because they purchase so many of them for thier school

    It's just a AHP20X with a 225 number slapped on it to compete with the primeweld 225 since so many people are hung up on numbers these days. AHP200 and 225 both are 60%@200 amps. The 225 goes down to 35%@225 which I am sure the 200 would do too if allowed to go higher.

    I personally have had good luck with my ahp, but I don't do heavy jobs with it, just hot side and cold side turbo plumbing so pretty low amps
    Have a ahp 203xi was looking at the 225 as a 2nd since my hobby work load has rampped up lately and need someone to help.

    I rewatched this a few times and I counted a total of 20 seconds of arc time.... Seriously 20 seconds in 3 segments out of a 12 minute 38-second video. The rest was filled with fluff. This is ridiculous. Compare this to a video Bob did back in May of 2017 (Titled: Everlast PowerTIG 250EX Review)where he featured an everlast tig machine. Bob had a total of 4.5 minutes of weld time on-screen with 10 segments in a 19:07 video. All the while Bob is showcasing the different features of the machine and adjusting the settings to create beautiful welds as well as showing how to make bad welds. All the while he's teaching us things about craters, porosity, speed, pulse, and many other things about welding. I know Bob is not coming back, but this channel was built on his teaching style and level of expertise. These guys now either aren't allowed or aren't capable of teaching like your previous instructors (ex: Jason and Bob) and the viewership has dropped dramatically.

    Everlast uses the same type of clear control shield. The only problem is that the detent that is used to get a finger under the cover is too small to use with gloves. For that reason, most use I've seen is the shield staying open.

      This is a late review for you but here it is. My AHP 200 lasted 6 1/2 years of VERY HARD use. Worked perfectly. Then the amperage started to wildly fluctuate. Was not worth the shipping and repair cost so I just now ordered a new 225XI. I just couldn't see paying the high price of a Miller. I can order a AHP every 6 years with the latest new technology compared to the initial high cost of a Miller or Lincoln which will also need costly repair eventually. Was back and forth over the fence about buying Chinese but I read the MIller has Chinese parts too. The owners are American, but built in China.

    • @timmer9lives
      @timmer9lives ปีที่แล้ว

      I though the same so I purchased a Miller 211 Autoset. Granted, I’m talking about a Mig welder. That said I promise that I literally used right at one 60 cf bottle of gas over a 7 year period. And I only used Er70s … no flux core.
      I just don’t do a lot of mig welding. Long story short is I go to use it one day and it’s dead. 7 year old Big Blue is DOA. I’ve got an older Klutch arc/stick welder and it still works perfectly. My 8 year old Esab 141 Fabricator works perfectly. I’m pretty bummed out. I did not expect a lightly used Miller Welder to die.
      Everything I can find out so far is pointing to the circuit board. It’s over 600.00 for a new board. So I now have a doorstop.
      I purchased a new Hobart Handler 190. It’s got a good 3 year warranty. I’d rather do that than risk repairing an older mig welder and end up spending over 600.00 and have a 90 day warranty. Too risky in my opinion.

    • @Enonymouse_
      @Enonymouse_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jo3s0meone It doesn't stick weld that well, it's missing features I wanted in higher end models but didn't realize it until after i welded with it for a while. The electronics inside it are super jenky, the amp output doesn't display accurately, and changes after i've set it and walked over to what i was about to work on.
      Tbh plan to spend at least 1400 or 1500 on a decent multi-mode setup, HTP for me is where that is at. I also wanted mig function too. It's the pay more now or pay a lot more later sort of scenario, you don't realize what your missing until you cut corners on equipment.

    This review was terrible! anyone who may be interested in this welder can read a specs sheet, we come to see a welding review to get an opinion on whether this machine is worth purchasing over another machine not be see an over edited video with almost no arc time and no real content needed in a review, primarily how it actually welds in different scenarios and what are its limitations. To me this seemed like an overview/unboxing of the welder not a review, please go back to the old style also 3 hosts is too many we don’t want to hear banter we want in depth details and information that you can’t read from the spec sheet on their site as should be expected in a review. Also unless something has changed I’m pretty sure that welder is listed on their site as including a solid 26 torch not a swivel

  • @kgfarmfab8807

    Weld.com has gone from a TH-cam channel that amassed a hundred thousand viewers per week... to a few thousand. This new approach of continuous advertising and sales gimmicks is ridiculous. I tuned in years ago to hear great advice and first-hand knowledge from experienced welders with years of experience. I LEARNED THINGS! I'm sure the guys on here now are very knowledgeable, BUT they either aren't capable of teaching or aren't allowed to share their techniques in welding. People viewing are interested in welding specifics, not a man's in-depth general opinion of a product while briefly showing the actual weld process discussed. We have become accustomed to the intricate details of laying a bead and the techniques offered by the different instructors. New viewers search for specific instructions and guidance on a specific welding process and technique. This new approach Weld.com has taken in the past 2 months is losing viewership. The vague instructions, as well as the lack of detail in the actual weld process provided by the machine or the "instructor", are losing viewers. Weld.com, you don't have to bring back Bob or Jason, but can you at least bring back their teaching style, specifics, attention to detail, and massive knowledge of welding and the processes?

      There's a lot to the whole story, but Jason wont be back, Bob will be in some limited capacity but he's got his own thing now so this can take a back seat, and unfortunately, welddotcom is now a branding hub for you to get your name out there and appease the sponsors. It's never going back to what it used to be, and it's currently a whole different company with a near complete staff change, new owner, and different mission to make money. I offered my help, they began to listen, but it's all crickets now. I really don't think they care, because sponsors keep the lights on, and pushing videos out with the 2 remaining shop hands and some new 1099 guest host help keeps the sponsor checks rolling in. It aint about teaching anymore. And I heard that straight from the horses mouth.
