We LOVE Ft. Worth and the Stockyards etc. My brother and family lived not so far from there for several years so we visited there and enjoyed it so very much. Keep traveling and vlogging and sharing. You're a blessing.

It's a great video. I think it's reasonable for stores like that to not want strollers in their stores. There's tons of instances where you can't take a stroller. You let it bother you way too much. This is a very informative video. I thank you for that. Carry on.

Thank you for watching, but I have to wonder if you got the main point we were talking about...The way the sign was written, gave no indication this was an all-the-time policy. It indicated that it was a "We're too congested right now" policy, which would give one the impression that when they were not congested (as they weren't when we went in), strollers wouldn't be a problem.
No, I disagree that this is a reasonable request. No store owner can reasonably expect a person to leave their child or pet unattended outside of a store. Too many things could happen...The child could wake and be scared, could be taken, or the pet could escape and be running around. No, it is a very unreasonable policy, and again, no other store in that complex had that policy.

At the last part of the video there is a parade. Did you remember what month exactly the parade in Forth Worth Stockyards?

We have been to the Fort Worth Stockyards in February, and April. They do that every day. It's not really a parade, per se. It's where they walk the cattle from the Stockyards through the street.
I think that's a daily event, but you might want to check the schedule to be sure. I'm wanting to say 4:00 p.m., but you also would want to check me on that.

Thanks for taking us on a tour of The Fort Worth Stockyards. So many businesses there and they all looked so busy. I don't see you backing down. lol Looks like you definitely had a memorable trip. Thanks for sharing the famous Fort Worth Cattle Drive. Great video!

Thank you for watching. I really struggled with whether to mention the one "negative" incident in the Stockyards, but decided it happened, so I would put it in.

Love the video ❤and yes they are usually packed on the weekends and whenever the weather is good 😂 at the 2minute mark i remember seeing the "Basement Bar." I remember passing by that myself and taking a peek down there. I don't drink so i didn't step in but it was something that just always stuck with me.. kind of like how there are these little holes or you could even say portals that you can see from the public sidewalk that you can choose to step through.. tons of amazing and secret places to see all around the city..

You know, we didn't even notice that. Are you talking about the set of stairs on the right, at about 2:18? I will have to pay more attention the next time we make it back there.
Yes, it was FAR more packed this time, that our one previous visit. Although, that visit was in February, so that might have been why.

I see the sign for it now. I actually had to pause the video to find it. Didn't notice it when I was recording.

I'm sorry your experience went that way. From what i saw on video he said it in a way that is acceptable. Now what was said between you two i can't really comment since I didn't hear it. Not how i would have done it but it was acceptable. They have their reasons for not allowing them whether we like it or not. And to be fair the digital sign outside was a clear sign that you weren't going to make it very far with the stroller 😂 If we dont agree then just don't enter. I'm sorry this encounter happened this way. It was just the wrong day. I wish they had some sort of lightweight, portable, and collapsible stroller that can be worn like a backpack in situations like this. Im not a parent but i can imagine how much stress on the human body it can have to carry a child around all day. But as parents you do it because you want your children to experience the world❤ Anyways thanks for this great video 👍

Thank you for your reasonable, fair, and balanced comment. I agree with you, that in the beginning, he did not say it in an unacceptable way. It was what followed, that was the problem. I want to fill in some of the blanks here, and let you know how it transpired.
Again, it wasn't what he said initially...It is the policy itself. Suppose there is a woman in the Stockyards who is by herself without a husband or a friend, with only her child in the stroller. The child is asleep, so removing the child from the stroller may not be desirable. Can she reasonably be expected to leave it alone outside, unattended? The child could be abducted, or wake up and be frightened because its mother is not around. Or worse, the child could get out of the stroller and get lost or hurt.
This is what I was trying to explain to him, when I realized he had followed me outside. In our case, it was our 2 Yorkies in the stroller. Even with pets, there is no way to reasonably expect people to leave them unattended outside. The last thing that needs to happen, is for a pet to escape the stroller while its owner is in the store.
I was trying to explain to him that this is simply a bad policy, and that this store was literally the only one in the entire Stockyards with this policy, or that had said anything to us. No one was questioning their legal right to have this policy. I was explaining to him why we believe it was wrong, bad, and unreasonable policy. And why his signs on the door gave the wrong impression, with the way they're worded.
I am the one who told her that it was no longer congested, and to just come inside in the wide open area. We were going to take turns walking around the store, while one of us waited in the open area by the stroller. There was plenty of room and no one would have been inconvenienced.
That was my issue...The wording of the signs on the door, which clearly said "right now we are too congested". This would lead any reasonable person to think this was a temporary situation, and not an all-the-time policy.
To be fair, the red light sign also says "No Strollers". The reason I went back to the store, was to look up and get the name, as we had not looked up at first. So, we had not seen that particular digital sign. Also, those signs can be changed to say anything, in a matter of minutes. So, even if we had seen it, we would have assumed it went along with the "right now we are too congested" signs, meaning it was only for when they had been congested.
But it was not until I went back to look at the name, that I saw the digital sign right below the store's name. We had been focused on the paper signs on the door, previously.
I was explaining to him why I thought it was a bad policy, and I brought up a mother and child, and told him they could not reasonably expect her to "park it outside". What actually escalated the confrontation, was when he replied by saying "This is Texas! Yes I can!". Before that, I was merely talking to him about why we brought it in in the first place, because his signs indicated it was only for congested times, and when we came in, they were not congested at all.
When he said "This is Texas! Yes I can", that is when I got irritated and told him that "This is Texas, and I can put you on TH-cam".
It did not have to escalate to the point it did. He began using the "F" bomb over and over. One other thing I didn't mention, is that I told him "I've said my peace. Have a nice day", and he came back with "Don't you worry about my F.... day!".
This guy acted in a clearly unprofessional manner. Had we recorded that exchange, I could not have put it in our video anyway, as we keep our channel clean.

There was a sign before going in and the employee didn't seem rude when he asked you to keep it outside. Yes, if you had your child with you you would take them out of the stroller or just not go into that store. Nothing wrong with either not going in or asking to keep the stroller outside. Great video though.

Cool video, lots of neat things I didn’t know about. Would be cool if the wife was videoing the confrontation. I know if it would have went to blows your inner Walker Texas ranger would kick in!! That would be the coolest video ever!! Have a blessed day!

Lol! Yes, I told her if anything like that ever happened again, to be sure and record it.
Although, with the language that guy was using, I couldn't have put it in this video. I would have had to mute it.

Thank you. I almost didn't put this in there, because I didn't know how viewers would take it. I probably should not have gone back to the store, but I hadn't gotten the name of it before, and I wanted viewers to know about the policy. That is why I ultimately decided to include that part in the video.

I live just five minutes from the Stockyards. And let me say I'm very sorry you had that bad experience with that one store. His behavior is inexcusable. Please know we in Fort Worth don't like that kind of behavior. And I totally agree with your explanations. As far as that store is concerned . If it was "thief deterrent" for that policy ? I don't see how a crowded or non crowded store will stop a thief with a stroller. Secondly what is "crowded" is subjective. How is the general public to determine if it is "crowded" if they have a stroller ? Third that store is purposely wanting to embarrass people. Because clearly they want NO strollers at ANY time. So they should post a sign saying that. Instead of making people guess and put them in a awkward situation. And him saying that is "Texas" makes no sense at all ? If that guy don't want you ? Then he don't want me as a Native Fort Worth citizen either. As a Native Fort Worthian. I support you your wife and your channel. We love you and hope you come back. More exciting things are planned for the Stockyards in the next coming years. And hopefully and new store will take over that bad one. God Bless.

Thank you so much for your kind words. They are very much appreciated.
Yes, I do wish the sign had been more specific, that they just didn't want strollers at all. To be fair, the digital sign with the red lights did say that, but I didn't even see that one until we went back to get the name of the store. I was reading the signs that were posted in the door, which clearly indicated it was because of the store being congested "at that time".
I do appreciate your kind words, and in no way did that experience dampen our good time at the Stockyards. We love the Fort Worth Stockyards, and definitely plan on returning.
Thank you again for watching, and for your kind comment.

Wow, if I go there, I will not set foot in the store that does not allow strollers. It not about having rules , it's about knowing how to ask politely and not be a jerk.

      That's basically what we did.
We didn't buy anything from that store, and in fact, we didn't even end up walking through the rest of it. We left after that happened.
The only reason I went back, was to get the name of it and point out the person who had done that. We hadn't gotten the name the first time.
