Yeah, it’s so tragic. She was my idol and inspiration for so much of my life. She’s broken so many barriers we didn’t even know needed to be broken. I truly thought she was going to be the kind of older woman who proves you can be cool, sexy and relevant and have no interest in trying to look 20. That seems to be all she’s focused on and she looks ridiculous. Her music has suffered. She hasn’t done anything great since the Hard Candy album. She just seems like the face of desperation now and it’s so hard to watch.
She is channeling Evita but I feel Eva Peron touched her to allow her to be regal and radiant. I fell in love with Madonna as an artist and was astonished on how damn hard she worked on her voice. She truly took the classical training seriously and the quality was just warm and pristine in her singing. And I can see that joy of feeling proud of herself. She looks luminous here. Oh if only she accepted aging. She is betraying her legacy by her antics these days. Hope she wakes up but still love her.
Somehow it’s been a crime to age; to have fun unapologetically; to kiss men and women; to “have had work done” shame on her - for being our envy. Kudos to her
