    "I think human are too good to be just good at one thing." My favorite quote so far this year. Thank you so much for this. And the music you were making, damn man. That was really good.
    Btw, I have kind of same hobbies of yours. (Piano and Photography).

    Hey David, you are actually one of the most talented students I have ever known. I was super inpired by all of your videos and experiences. You really grow up to the person that you want you to be. I am having an exchange now at ETH Zurich and I want to apply for a master here later this year. I hope to get a chance to know you in person someday! All the best

      Aw man, can't say how much your kind and encouraging words mean to me ❤ If you're doing an exchange here you're on track to getting into the masters, at least that was also my path. I'll be in Zurich for the forseeable future so I'm sure we can meet up!

      @@itsdavidalonso Thanks for your reply David! I also want to learn robotics. But I think robotics master would be rather hard for me to get in. I am thinking of applying for three among these programs: robotics systems control, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and information technology, micro and nano system, computational science and engineering. Could you give me some suggestions?

    When you make a video about your journey at ETH Zurich, buts it's not about ETH. The fact that this video was also published officially really shows that being student at ETH is not all about studying, but we can enjoy life too.

    David, can you please make a video about getting a job in Switzerland for non-EU students. Is it really that much of a hassle as others are pointing out, since i am really considering ETH Zurich for masters next year.

    • @itsdavidalonso
      @itsdavidalonso  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I guess you mean a part-time job during your studies? For certain tracks, where an internship is mandatory, this is the same as for EU students and quite easy logistically. A full-time job after your studies is also very doable, if a company really wants you (they can facilitate the visa process, etc). I will keep this in mind for my planned future videos, thanks for the suggestion!

    Hallo David!
    I will start applying to robotics masters around Europe next month and your videos are very helpful!
    I was wondering if (in your experience) does someone need to know German in order to be able to communicate easily inside ETH or Zurich in general;

    • @itsdavidalonso
      @itsdavidalonso  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Nikolaos, thank you! Not for the masters no! I can say this for certain for ETH, and TU Delft, but I'm pretty sure most Master programs in EU are taught in English

    • @nikolaoskaimasidis5576
      @nikolaoskaimasidis5576 2 ปีที่แล้ว

       @David Alonso Hallo again david! (and sorry for spamming)
      I have another question and I wonder if you could offer some insight from your experience.
      Even though i have an exceptional academic background from my studies here in Greece (BSc & MSc in Mechanical Engineering) and good recommendation letters, I didnt manage to get the expected scores on GRE exam that TU Delft and ETH require.
      Do you consider these scores a prerequisite to get into these universities?
      Thank you

    • @itsdavidalonso
      @itsdavidalonso  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nikolaoskaimasidis5576 When I applied to ETH, it wasn't a requirement, so if you're not happy with your score I would not send it in. I know enough people that have been accepted without taking the GRE. But this might have changed, so please double check :)

    @davidalonso please i'd like to know if it's possible to apply for a Master in Cyber Security after the deadline for International Students. I live in Africa, in the inquirements, i found this amazing university of Zurich but unfortunately it was a little bit late because the application deadline was the 15th of this month. The office admission looks close for the holliday since they don't reply to my e-mails. Please let me know if i still have the chance to apply from your experience.

    • @itsdavidalonso
      @itsdavidalonso  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Rithik, I don't think it's hard to make friends here at all :) Switzerland is a melting pot of cultures and languages and Zurich is filled with students from all kinds of backgrounds which means that most people are open-minded and friendly towards students from abroad. If you attend lectures in person, find a shared flat with roommates, go to events in the city, join clubs, etc, you'll make friends in no time!
