@@mohamedismael1847 Of course I don't mind! Feel free to comment on any video of mine! There are absolutely no German requirements for the ESOP. I'm not sure if 15 November is the deadline this year, so I would double check on their website. Until then, without getting too specific, I would try to do some research or take on any other endeavor you are passionate about that is challenging and impactful, preferrably something that connects with research done at ETH.

@@mohamedismael1847 you don't necessarily need to propose a project that is being done at ETH, but if you can tie it to the lab of someone at ETH it helps because they might be reviewing your application. The ESOP will cover all tuition fees and the semester installments of ~12k will start getting payed in the 1st sem of the 1st year. I hope that's clear

First one is, In case of US or CA, we have to manage a professor (who would like us to get admitted into their college and sometimes it opens the door for scholarship too) and then we have to apply centrally. Is it the same case for switzerland? And does managing any professor (if there is any such culture in swiss) somehow improve my chance of getting admitted into the college like in the USA or CA.And as you said, there is an interview for ESOP, does the interviewer somehow is the one of which my given topic would match? Secondly, from your experience (also you've already made a Q&A video about that but there were only 4 people and with very high gpa ofc), what is the weight of GPA in case of getting and ESOP? For example, if I'm from a lesser known uni with an average GPA but if I can propose a good thesis proposal, is there any chance that I might gate accepted? @@angeljacob4620 I can't remember when I was notified, but I had the interview sometime in Feb/March. For the interview you should make sure to be very comfortable answering questions about the preproposal and why you want the ESOP.

Hi Ernesto! Thank you! That's the whole idea behind the video, to encourage you to apply. I don't fully understand your question, what do you mean by accept your admission to ETHZ? You have to be admitted to ETH and attend the ETH master to be able to receive the scholarship. So you have to follow the normal ETH application as well as the additional ESOP application

Admission results come before ESOP results. Once accepted, some universities require students to confirm that they will indeed enroll in their program in order to be eligible for funding, I wonder if this is the case at ETHZ. Rephrasing my question: are ESOP results independent of whether or not one has registered in ETH by the time ESOP decisions are made? Prospective ESOP recipients will likely have acceptance letters from other top unis besides ETH and funding could be a mayor factor in making the final decision. In your case, once you received your acceptance letter from ETH, did you wait for the ESOP result before registering for the program?

From personal experience I cannot give you the best answer (since I'm EU) other than the following facts: - It's true that it's generally easier to find jobs for EU students than for non-EU. - That said, it's totally doable for non-EU students to find part-time jobs, internships, and permanent jobs after the Masters here, I have many examples of such people that I could try to get on the channel

that's a tough one, it depends to what degree you are famiiliar with the topic and it is relevant. I'd try to find something that touches both, and would prioritize your experience. In the end you want to show research maturity
I have a little bit query about dates application starts from 1November to 15 December both for pursuing admission in master programs and ESOP and study starts bt next year in the beginning of September. In this November i only complete my seven smester can i apply for ETH otherwise I have worry about missing my one year .
I would try their emails/linkedin, but if they don't reply (which is pretty common), I'd try to reach out to PhD's in the lab. They can then pitch you to their profs.

The most important prerequisite is to have very good grades in a Bachelor's degree programme, but do I need to have a bachelor's degree when I'm applying? For example: I'm a student at the university of Padua in Italy, currently at the second year and at the end of september I will begin my third year. The applications for international students will probably begin in november and end in december, so during that period I won't have my bachelor's degree. Can I still apply? If the answer is yes, what happens if my grades go down during the third year?
Hey Davena, not a dumb question at all :) You can still apply, as I know several cases of people who were accepted while still finishing the last half of their last BSc year. And the acceptance is unconditional (as long as you pass everything and graduate ofc). Hope that helps!

I have 3.6/4 average in Polytechnique Montréal (Canada) in bachelor mechanical engineering and I'm thinking about applying to ETH for master and shoot my shot for ESOP at the same time. Is it realistic or I have to be in top 5% grade? Also, on another subject, the foundation that gives the ESOP has a goal of retaining students to Switzerland after their studies I guess? Therefore, is it worth trying to show I would integrated to Swiss society easily or no? For exemple French is my first language and I'm currently learning German, is it a plus or it's irrelevant? It can be anything, but as the video mentions I'd recommend you choose something you have expertise in. You don't have to stick to it once you start your masters

The minimal grade average for applying to the scholarship is 5.4/6 i think

Not when I applied! I doubt it'll be anything significant if they changed it
Its 50 chf for EU and 150 for Non EU for masters on website But I am confused whether thats appliacable to ESOP as well.
How long did it take you to write your pre-proposal?
I'd say if I was working full-time on it maybe 2 days including reviews from people. But this is because I had written similar essays in the past
