Sir: General Butler is one of my favorite “characters” of the era. I feel like Gen. Butler showed the way for the Emancipation Proclamation with his astute declaration of slaves in Union occupied rebel areas as “contraband”. But his edict against the gals in Nawlins... beyond BRILLIANT!
This was incredibly thorough and enlightening. Although sometimes I wish that the men named would be put on the screen as they were mentioned, so it is easier to follow their names, faces, and ranks. Thank you for the lecture :)
Thank you so much for your input. I will pass your praise and comment on to John Q. We appreciate your watching and look forward to having you with us on other programs!
