My mate T-boned me there when we were racing in September 2000. It won him the championship - I got a busted ankle and to ad insult to injury - nettled after I had shuffled off the track and laid down on the tyres. I was out racing again two weeks later at Mallory to take a win and a second and keep second place in the championship. Good memories! There is a long tarmac run off area at the haiprin where the runway used to carry on. Our friend here will not have crashed.
omg that was close! that filming gives you a better idea of what its like than the filming on world bike racing championships :P you guys rule, wish i had a bike like that :D
I agree, some folk don't know what a sighting lap is for. I've done a few trackdays and its riders like them that always have me worried that some twat might torrpedo me off the bike
I think he was trying to hit you. How can you go into a 30MPH turn at 75MPH? He didn't even get all the way to the inside. Maybe his brakes were overheating, but even so, he should have gotten all the way to the inside or outside. The only time i've ever seen anything like this is when I'm trying to hit my friends on video games. Glad you didn't get hit. You'd probably be missing a right leg if you were about .25 seconds faster. I'm glad this guy isn't riding trackdays in the US. ;)

I actually thought this was about the first rear wheel slide... tbh nothing major there as I've had worse myself and was ready to hit the thumbs down. Then I saw the second part.... Holy hell! That was mere inches away from two people being in hospital. I hope after the incident you had a few stern words - riding like that is simply stupid. Any feedback on what caused that... mechanical or mental failure?
wat the fuck? yeh its a track day but at least there doing it on a track and not roads and on top of that they probably payed for that so why not make the most of it?
Bull crap. U want to experience a near death experience try to race on Nemuno Ziedas or Bikernieku race track, wehre you dont have the 50m gravel for safety but only 5m of grass and a concrete wall, the only two alternatives is the isle of men and pirita in estonia.
