Before you peel the paper off stick them in the freezer for about 10 minutes then cut the paper off comes off so much easier or you could just suck them in some water and peele right off the paper
I’ve never added more halfway through, but you could definitely try it. The best way to ensure the same thickness is to just make sure all of the molds are filled to the very top with no empty spaces at all. You could even fill all of the molds the same way (standing the broken pieces up in the mold versus laying them down). Let me know how yours turn out!
@@ShesCraftyandSheKnowsIt thanks! Going to try some different ways. I did try refilling half way through and then I did a bit too much as they overflowed when I was trying to pull them out of the oven but I do like the thickness in the end!
If you soak the crayons in warm water for 10-15 minutes, the papers peel right off. You do then have to wait for them to dry, but I still think it’s worth it.
Random question! I want to make a sign for my business with crayons what do you use to stick them to a wooden board? Glue, tape, or some other means? Also, would it be possible to make them stick by placing them on for instance a 12x12 inch board then flooding around the base of them with like a 1/4inch of resin? Or will the resin melt the crayons? I hope that made sense. 😬
I’m not sure about the resin - I haven’t worked with resin before. I’d either use a touch of hot glue (with the gun on the cool setting if you a dual temp hot glue gun) or I’d use a little bit of super glue. Sounds like a fun idea!
I didn’t count but I would think about 3-4 crayons needed per alphabet crayon. Hope that helps! Dollar tree sells crayons too if you live close to one, that way you aren’t breaking the bank!
We partnered with a restaurant in town that gives kid’s crayons and coloring sheets to kids.. they save the used crayons for us. They usually throw them away at and they only had been used once.
Words? W like Wool, Y for Yeah,Z for Zack, Yeah,Even i thought you didn't create v but you instead put on the extra letters. Because you didnt create W, you can Upside down the letter M and it will look like a W.
Hi Samantha, are you on IG? If so can you send me a picture at @shescraftyandsheknowsit? I want to be able to see exactly what you're dealing with so that I can try and help you troubleshoot!
Hey Clara! I have the glitter, and all of the other supplies, linked here: shescraftyandsheknowsit.com/theblog/crafts/diy-alphabet-crayons/ Let me know if you have any other questions!
Maybe you let it melt too long or the heat was too high or too low? Just an idea I don’t really know but I would adjust these to see if there is a difference.
I've made a lot of these for school students and I'm trying to stick the crayons to a piece of paper. My attempts have failed. Does anyone have any ideas?
I just pop them in the freezer and they’re ready in 20 min or less, I didn’t have any problem with that but the only letter that I couldn’t get it out was L I tried it at least 6 time and it broke right away, is there any tip I can use?
Oh no! I haven't had any problems with the Ls. I'm sure you've tried this, but I would push the mold from the back side rather than pulling on the crayon part, and I would start by pushing it at the corner of the L, if that makes sense.
@@Yvettep69 that is so frustrating. Sorry! Try this mold and see how they do. Someone else had mentioned putting them in the freezer to fully cool off before taking them out of the mold - but I haven’t tried that myself.
This is such a great craft. Soaking in hot water also helps with removing the paper
The glitter was SUCH a nice touch these are so cute!!!
Awe thank you so much! ❤️
This is so awesome homemade Christmas gifts next year
Yes! They make perfect homemade Christmas gifts!!
Love the chunky glitter!
Thanks! Me too!
These are great. Another way to remove the paper from the crayon is to soak them in warm water and the paper slides off.
I will be trying this next time! Probably way faster than the way I did it lol
Soak the crayons in water and the paper comes right off
Why didn’t I think of that?! 🤦🏼♀️ Thank you!
Hello business idea!!!
How do you stop a clear wax layer forming when its cooling?
Helpful video ! Can you do another video with other glitter options ?

Do you ever add more crayons halfway? I’m worried they will be different thickness. I want to make some as gifts! Thanks, great video!

I'd hate to color with these dull crayons but they look pretty.
Yes not the best crayons for precise coloring! 🤣 But they are super fun to give as gifts.
Thanks for sharing!! This is a great project.
You are so welcome!

Hello, how do I make the letters the same height?
If you freeze the crayons the paper will come off easier
Thanks for the tip! I will try that next time. 😄
Nice, they look great! have you solved the problem of the separation at all?
I have not! Seems like some colors or possibly brands do it worse than others, but I haven't solved it. Sorry :(

Looks good👍
Wat else can I add for colour?
How many crayons basically is needed to fill both molds?
Hey! Love this idea so much! Going to make them for the children at my wedding. Do you know roughly how many crayons you needed per letter? Xx
I didn’t count but I would think about 3-4 crayons needed per alphabet crayon. Hope that helps! Dollar tree sells crayons too if you live close to one, that way you aren’t breaking the bank!

That is amazing!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Bubble came out at the end of melting part. How to avoid it?
Hello! I love these! I tried making them and I had some crayons form bubbles in the back? What I’m I doing wrong? Thank you
That's is so cool!🤩🤩
Will This have effect on Oven ? Will it leave it's smell for Days ?
I did not have any issues with my oven - no weird smell or anything at all! :)
Hey! Can we heat it on microwave to melt the crayon?
What’s the temperature? Thanks
Where i can get that mold. I love the letter sizes
If I went out to buy crayons, about how many do you need per letter?
How do I get the U to stop breaking when I take off the mold?
Soak the mold in very warm water to very slightly melt the crayon before popping it out?
Can you tell me how to get the letter G out of the mold with breaking the letter? I can't seem to do it. Thanks.
. . . into the freezzzerrr 🥶
What are the boxes so I can give to a friend
Can this be Heated with Pre heating process..like a normal microwave process?
I haven't tried it that way so I'm not sure. Sorry!
How do you get the U out without breaking
Try only pushing up from the bottom of the mold, rather than pulling it out of the mold.
Where are the molds from??
They’re from Amazon. You can find them here: amzn.to/3dM4FT6
Easier thing is to unwrap. The crayons is soak them in water.
I wish I had known this back then. Would have saved me so much time lol. But thanks for the tip. I’ll definitely do that next time!
I keep breaking the letter U and G. Any tips? All the others pop right out
Just tried to make a set and for some reason when the Crayon firmed up I got a white layer of wax ? What happened?
❤❤❤
Why did you not create Q,W,X and Z?
I only made the letters I needed to make certain words/names that I was going to give to people.
oh.... thank for the feedback.

Glitter cool
Would anyone be able to help my crayon shapes keep forming a clear wax layer, am I doing something wrong?

Are you making sure that the crayons completely cool off before you try to take them out of the mold?
@@ShesCraftyandSheKnowsIt yes let them cool off some for 3 hrs or next day
