i think he just canceling the attack with full of his strength(that makes him exhausted), not surpasses it, and jing yuan literally can oneshoting jing liu, so what is the point of yq can surpasses those two veteran knight? he even still a minor xd

They worded it a bit confusing but they didn't mean Yanqing surpasses Jing Yuan & Jing Liu currently but that he WILL surpass them EVENTUALLY. Just like Jing Yuan surpassed his master and became stronger than Jing Liu, Yanqing will surpass his master and will become stronger than Jing Yuan. Obviously not yet, he's still very young... but he has many centuries or even millenia in front of him.
