Honesty, old Harleys were a pos back then ,and their a pos today,new ones are way better ! the only thing that saved "Harley" was the British invasion,it made Harley get up and re-evaluation it's situation .
They were building Triumphs BEFORE. HD was building "bikes" what kept Harley alive was when AMF started putting Japanese parts on them so they would at least run sometimes.........currently 70 percent Japanese with Australian wheels on some models and last year HD closed the Kansas City plant and opened assembly plant in Thailand. Leaving absolutely no reason to ever buy one.

I know about pride in a home made product I'm from the UK as you know we are the same about our brands, but when I hear of guys still claiming Harleys are 'MADE IN THE U.S.A' I have to shake my head and wonder what research if any these guys do or do they just blindly follow their favourite brands. In the end there is no shame just embrace it, in Europe we are happy that bikes now come with Ohlins suspension we don't care they are German, they are the best you can get that's all that matters, it's a shame Americans can't get this mindset about Harleys if 'foreign' parts are making 'your bikes' better then embrace it, admit it and enjoy it, drop the 'if it's not U.S.A made it's crap' attitude, it insults everyone and makes you sound like idiots as your riding bikes probably 50% foreign made and don't even seem to realise it.
