the id lock works in that it locks the sword in the scabbard, if the sword's already drawn there isn't much you can do to prevent it from being used unless you somehow fit a taser device in the grip.
That's my take on it
It’s a regular katana that was modified to become an HF blade. Hf blades vibrate at high frequencies(hence the name High Frequency blade), which is what allows them to cut stuff so well. The ID lock doesn’t prevent the sword from being drawn, but it does prevent it from vibrating really fast, which is why it’s even useful in the first place.
And what they gonna do? Hack it to use?
Without Ripper mode or Zandatsu we don't use the HF mode anyway.
The sword has been mechanically enhanced to be able to cut through anything by vibrating fast. The ID lock prevents it from having that use, which means it'd just be a regular sword.
Well it probably has something to do with the fact that the back of his sword has a button used in order to activate the high frequency feature and if the sword is locked and this means it is no longer a high frequency blade and it would be able to chip, be bent, and dull the blade if it wasn't a muramasa sword but this was me by Mara Masa with Incredible steel so imagine a high frequency sword but it's got the benefits of a high frequency sword added to the already high frequency sword. It's not like he would expect the steel to be of such incredible quality that he could use it like his regular blade. So yeah, if the ID is locked then you no longer get access to the high frequency feature.
